We both have lots of furniture. Moving to his house, because it's much bigger, but I love my furniture. His is great too, but most of it does not go with mine. We are drowning in STUFF, really!

ALL of us have heard this line from guys who are married, dating someone else, etc. at some time. We think it's like some kind of test, to see if you'd wait around while he finishes with the current person he's with, or (worse yet) be willing to settle for being his "other woman". What do MEN think this means. I'd like to hear answers from guys on this, please.

I am concerned that it will break the wooden stairs if movers try to carry it up. It was in the house when I bought it, and I don't know how they got it down there. So far, no mover wants to even try.

It needs the vertical structural support in the basement replaced, because they are pulling moisture from the basement floor,and rotting. Also it needs a new furnace. the house is 2400 square feet, about 1400 on the ground floor. How do i know how much it will cost to replace them?

He says it's because she's his whole world, and also cos he doesn't want people to think he's a failure, and divorced people are failures. He has NEVER treated her like she's special, however, and he's never happy--about anything. I think he's really depressed. Is that a reason to stay married? Because you're miserable and you want someone to be miserable with?

She has kids who are young adults. I am concerned for her, and for them. No one seems to know why this happened, and I think that not knowing is going to be a huge problem for them.

Also, on a practical note--will the husband's life insurance pay off on this? I have heard that most will not pay for suicides. Anyone know if that is usually true?

Am I a complete idiot, or just lacking some self-preservation gene. I walked around for 10 months feeling like I would explode before I finally said something, and only then cos all my friends, even my ex, said this guy was also attracted to me. He was attracted to me, as it turns out, but I think I nearly scared him off, just the same. Why are men so afraid of being told that a woman loves them?

I have a friend who this happened to. His wife now says she won't sleep with him because she is "sure" he's been unfaithful. I am fairly certain she's wrong, and I think she's saying it to cover her own tracks. She travels on business constantly, usually with the same male coworker, with whom she's thinking of going into business. She's been very COLD towards her husband for years.

Especially if the reason is that you have fallen in love with someone else. No cheating is going on. This is not sneaking around to see what you can get "on the side". Which is worse, pretending to still feel the same towards your spouse when you really know it's over, or being honest about how you feel, and asking for a divorce? Keep in mind, I am not talking about having an affair, and then leaving. I AM talking about wanting to have an affair, and realizing this means you shouldn't be married anymore. What matters more--being honest, or staying married?

Why do people think that having more money will automatically make them happier with their lives? I'm not talking about people who have nothing at all. I mean people who think that they will be 50% happier if they make $300,000 a year instead of $200,000. I have never seen it work that way.

I notice lately that my wealthiest friends are the most miserable, in fact. And I mean wealthy--over a million in assets, and no longer working cos they can live on their investments. These people are all married to spouses they don't enjoy being with, but they won't divorce because they don't want to split up their assets. So, instead they sit around and complain about how nothing makes them happy anymore. This applies to male and female friends equally. When I say, "Have you thought about leaving?" the answer is identical--"And let HIM (or HER) get my stuff?? Hell, no!" What do you say to people who can't see that their obsession with their stuff is chaining them to an unhappy life?
