My mother is looking to downsize and move into Houston from our "countryside" home. She doesn't really know what she wants except for these few criteria:

-Safe

-active lifestyle

-senior citizen friendly (but not senior majority)

-quiet yet close to amenities

-small yard (preferably maintained by a neighborhood/condo association if possible)

-small 2 bed 1-2 bath home

Her budget is $200,000-$300,000 and she doesn't have an area in mind at this point except to avoid Chambers County and Baytown.

Can anyone give me an idea on how to direct her in her search? She keeps asking me and I'm clueless as to where would be a good place for her.

Our rental group consists of mostly people younger GARM guideline age with only one person over that age requirement. This makes it difficult to rent from the large companies because they all follow those guidelines very strictly and would consider us a group where "an adult is renting on behalf of minors". I'm looking for a company or private owner rental that would be okay with a group of four 17/18 year olds with one 59 year old adult.

my elderly mother tried to search a hotel on the internet by name and called the first number she found for that hotel which actually called this company. She now believes she was scammed.

I have alway wondered about my grandfather's participation in World War 2 but, that entire side of the family has long since passed away. The only thing I have are his dog tags. It the rope of one of those cross necklaces made with nails, it had blue ink on it for about a year.

My family is planing to go to Disney World in June 2012 how early do we have to book to find a hotel room. I live in Beach City Texas but go to school 3 miles north in Mont Belvieu.

Mont Belvieu had the rolling black out but Beach City didn't.
