I'm a moderately young 30 ish woman, with 2 wonderful kids who make my life worthwile. I am married to my kids' father. I am on here to try to help people with answers that might not be available to them elsewhere. I love music, tv, pop culture, social sciences, computers, video games, and I love toys, antiques or current. I'm a collector of alot of different things because I can't decide what I want to collect more of. I just have too many eccelctic interests! I'm a very friendly and most of the time open minded person, who will do my best to answer a question you may have. I sort of consider this a Ministry of sorts...as silly as that sounds! :) Cheers!

  • What can you do about a former employer spreading rumors that you were sexually harrassing others?

My minor daughter worked in a place where she felt that she was constantly being belittled, and treated strangely. Her manager was not nice to her at all, she claims that he really wouldn't give her constructive criticism, just acted ugly to her She was recently let go, and told that the reason they were letting her go was because they didn't have enough hours. However, I heard from a relative who works there that the Manager is telling people she was let go for Sexually harassing other employees. She vehemently denies this. She is 16 years old. What can I do to protect her rights, and tell that gentleman he needs to stop slandering her. There is no documentation of this, and I am furious

  • Why would God himself appear to Joseph Smith but not to anyone else in the Bible?

I'm curious because I did a study that implied that God always appeared through an angel, or as Jesus manifesting himself as a human...I believe they are separate beings but I don't understand how Joseph Smith, the founder of the Jesus Christ Church of Latter Day Saints could actually see God when some of the most holy men in the Bible, like Moses, Abraham, or Isaiah, did not, according to scripture.

  • I'm trying to figure out how to decorate a room that will be shared by a toddler and preteen. The preteen...?

If I was going to make my kids share a room, which is my pre teen's idea of a nightmare, what would be the best way to do it, to try to let her have her space still, but create a fun play space for my toddler so she wouldn't be likely to mess w/ her sisters stuff. I have not been able to find much information on this type of arrangement and I am curious if anyone has done it before, and what has worked and what hasn't. Thanks!

  • How long should we allow our new cats to adapt to our environment?

We adopted 2 cats who are both adult cats. Their owners couldn't care for them anymore, and we said we would take them. They came to our home yesterday and seemed ok at first but as the day wore on, they hid and hissed and growled if we even looked at them. We have tried putting some toys back behind the couch and chair where they are perched, and put a little milk out to try to gain their trust but they have bitten my husband twice, and will actually jump up and attack if we try to reach down and arrange their bedding. I have a 2 and a half year old..and I do not want her attacked. I dont' want my 11 year old attacked. This is very sad because we really looked forward to getting them and the people we adopted them from said they hadn't had any problems with them and that they are very sweet and loving cats. Anyone have any suggestions? My thought is to maybe just leave them alone and not bother them..but it is really tempting to want to pet them and reassure them with a soothing voice...

  • My new mommy friend feels paranoid that the nurses are trying to take her baby.?

I have a friend who had a horrible labor, that lasted 24 hours. She was already a week past due, and is on medicaid, so right there you know that she is not being treated the best by clinic physicians and students. She was a smoker, and has been in the hospital for several days now, without a cigarette...and is going through withdrawl. When she changed her baby for the first time, she was nervous, and the nurses assumed that she was too nervous to do it. They sent social services in to talk to her, and made her really scared that they were going to keep her baby. One of the nurses even said something about adopting the baby, which freaked her out even more. She doesn't want to leave before her baby does, and I'm sure that there is a way to find out exactly what is going on so she feels more confident. The baby was healthy and weighed 7.5 lbs. My friend has no family in town, and her husband has been working, unable to take any days off. She's emotionally low right now, and is feeling overwhelmed. Does anyone have any suggestions for how to cheer her up and make her feel more confident? I know that once she gets the baby home she is going to be a great mom, but right now she is being made to feel very inadequate. I had wonderful experiences in the hospital, and I am appalled that she is being treated this way!

  • How do you know when you've really gone crazy?

I feel like steam is rising up inside me and needs to be released. My eyes have been out of focus, and i'm having problems thinking straight. I'm not sure what to do. Just go lay down and try to calm down I guess.

  • How do you encourage your husband who thinks he already is the leader of the home to be a spiritual leader?

my husband wants to be the boss of the home and have everything be done according to his specifications. The kids can't talk unless they are spoken to. The dog pees in the house and gets chewed out. I don't do things for him intimately on a "timely basis" and I am called a bad wife and rebellious. I'm not so sure I want this marriage to work, it feels more like a communist run country. How do I encourage him to become the spiritual leader that I need him to be. We are Christians but have come to hate religion, and are having a hard time figuring out what we need to do to gel our marriage more. Right now there is a lot of bitterness and frustration, and "if you do this, then I'll do that" but it never gets done, or its never enough. Finances are really bad, and all our kids seem to be seeing is chaos, and disarray. It's very hard to live in a situation like this. Any suggestions or prayers???

  • I want to be involved but my husband doesn't want me to...

i am trying to become involved in a ministry that my husband finds particularly unpleasant. We do not go to church anymore, and he constantly insists that I submit to him, and that I'm rebellious and don't care about him. I work and he is at home with the kids. He is on disability, so he does not work, however he still has money coming in. It is a very bizarre role reversal that often leads to arguments and hurt feelings. I feel that I am myself more when I can be involved with music, and I resent that my husband doesn't want me to be involved with it. It takes up very little time except for a weekend every 6 months, and Saturday meetings every month or so. How do I submit to him but still be able to be involved in something I believe I should be doing?

  • Just found out that some friends of mine told some people some things that we said about them. What do I do?

Had some bad experiences with couple # 2. Couple # 1 was really great and I wanted to warn them about couple # 2. For some reason Couple # 1, who didn't even know couple # 2, told Couple # 2 some bad things we said, in confidence. Couple # 1 doesn't know that I know, so how do I deal with that. We don't talk to Couple # 2 anymore, does it even matter?

  • How do you deal with people trying to butting into your group of friends?

We met some people that wanted to be friends with us, and hang out with us..myself and my husband. When they started hanging out with us though, they wanted to start talking to all of our friends too...like they were supposed to be able to fit into our group immediately. Well there was some drama, and some bad things were said, and now they think we are trying to get everyone to dislike them, but they are really the ones who are making people dislike them because they are trying to put us down to every one of our friends. It's like they're wanting to take over our spot in our group of friends. It's creepy. I like her husband fine, but she is really pushy and loud and rude, and my husband can't stand her. We all feel that he is getting the short end of the stick in his marriage and although we don't want them to break up, we also don't want them spreading stuff around and trying to manipulate the truth to seem like we are the ones saying bad stuff. How do we make it stop?

  • What do you do about an ex employees creditors that keep calling his previous employer?

We fired a guy 2 months ago, and are still getting phone calls from an unknown creditor, who refuses to stop calling. A number does not pop up on caller id, and when they are told he no longer works here, they either hang up, or argue, and ask for another number. I'm not sure how to proceed. I can't get them to give me their supervisor, or a phone number so I can report them to the A.G. Any other advice???

  • How much did cytomel help boost your energy if taken with Welbutrin XL?

My psychiatrist gave this to me, to help boost the effects of my Welbutrin, which seems to have gone flat on me. I am experiencing more depression and lack of energy on 300 of Welbutrin, and Lexapro. Under stress as well, but was feeling ok 3 months ago when I went to see him and not so well this time. He actually had the audacity to make it sound like I was making my symptoms up...although he has never been very nice to me. I was assigned to him, so it's not like I picked him, but I am trying to get in to see another one in that facility. Just need to know if it helped anyone and how soon the effects started occuring...Thanks!

  • I have a plymouth grand voyager 1998 model that does not cool or heat even when the fan is on.?

Fan is working, blower motor seems to be working, but cannot get any heat when I move the switches to hot on driver/passenger and even back heaters. The back windsheild defrost is not working either. Could there be a simple answer to this, or does it sound more like a thermostat or heater core issue? I just don't know where to start, I have checked fuses, and everything seems to be ok there.
