1 AnswerCats10 years agoWhat should I do about top teeth getting filed by bottom brackets rubbing against the teeth? - Braces?
I've had braces for over a year and a half, and when I close my mouth/smile/ect. the edges of my top teeth touch my bottom brackets. Now my two front teeth are getting filed down - only where they touch the brackets. Is there anything I can do to prevent further damage? I've worked really hard to keep my mouth clean and healthy, and don't want teeth that are worn down from contact with brackets. Please help!

4 AnswersMathematics1 decade agoMy 2 year old cat has a tender lump on his left side, by his ribs?
You can see it when he stretches, and it's tender to him (he moves when you come close to it)... it's really freaking me out. We don't have any money to pay for an expensive vet visit, and I need help. Does anyone have any advice, on either what it could be, or where I could go to get it (cheaply) checked out in Cleveland OH? :\
P.S Please don't tell me I'm a bad owner; I'm not... we had money for vet visits when we got him, but times are hard.
8 AnswersCats1 decade agoNot neutered male cat trying to mount spayed female?
My 2 year old male is not neutered.
My 5 month old female is spayed.
He keeps trying to mount her.
He gets on top of her and starts biting her until she's squeeling.
They are fine the other times, 'cept when she annoys him.
Can he hurt her? How can I prevent it?
She's been fixed for about a month and a half now.
Thank you in advance.
5 AnswersCats1 decade agoPill Swallowing Phobia?
Okay, here's the deal. I ate Lemonheads in the car once, and my brother made a joke, and the lemonhead slipped down, and was stuck. We had to pull over and get me something to drink, fast.
I didn't eat any hard candy for almost 4 years. I finally sucked it up about two months ago, and (yes, it was in the car, I know, I was stupid) ate some Crystal Light. well we went over a bump, and it slid right down my through (same thing that happened before).
I'm sitting here with some water and two pills I NEED to take, and I.. I can't do it. I'm truly scared. Can anyone help me?!
4 AnswersOther - Health1 decade agoWhat should I do about a food aggressive kitten?
We're new to the fostering community, and right now we have 2 kittens (whom are about 4-5 weeks old). Jane is very food aggressive, not only to her sister, but to humans as well. She hisses, spits, bites, and growls. The two siblings were sharing the same bowl, but since then have been separated, which has not solved the problem. Even if the sister walks by (not near the bowl), Jane growls. I have stuck my hand in her bowl, and she has swatted, bit, growled, ect. I am at an end. Toot does not do this, so I know it's not something they should do. I have a 1 1/2 year old cat whom never did this.
As a foster family, you are supposed to prepare these guys for a family, and Jane is making herself undesirable. Can you please help?

I've found a lot of information talking about when the word neonatology was created, and what it means, but who want the founder, (mother or father) of Neonatology? Instead of just answering, can you copy & paste the source in which you got the information from?
Thank you in advance.

2 AnswersClassical1 decade agoPLEASE HELP: Just got braces tightened, and wire is poking?!?
Yesterday (Aug 3) I got thicker wires and power chains. The wire on the upper left side is poking (it's not long or anything, it just hooks onto my cheek and won't stop hooking), but my mouth is super sore from the adjustment.. so I can't put wax on, it hurts too bad.
Should I just use orajal (spell?), and let it be.. or suck it up and put wax on it?
I've previously had problems with this side poking me.. there was a huge sore from the wire going in and out, and it was reeeeally painful, but there was nothing the ortho could do. I want to avoid getting that sore back again.
Please help!
6 AnswersDental1 decade agoI have a sneezing guinea pig.?
My guinea pig is about 6 weeks old, and yesterday we introduced yellow squash and zucchini. Since then she has started sneezing. She doesn't have the symptoms of a cold, or upper respiratory infection, and her bedding has been the same since we got her, as well as her food, ect. She has a good diet consisting of Gerty Guinea Pig Food (she doesn't eat the pieces inside of the bag that look like cat food, so we take them out.), various fruits and vegetables (Apples - different types, celery, kale, parsley, a limited amount of carrots, ect). BUT--- It went from being 90* F here (we kept her in the cool basement so she wouldn't suffer from heat stroke), to around 69* F in less than 24 hours. So we brought her up from the basement.. Could that have been too much of a temperature fluctuation to make her sneeze like that?
Please don't tell me to take her to the vet.
2 AnswersRodents1 decade agoA Few Questions About Guinea Pigs?
I just got a guinea pig yesterday after doing some research for about a month. We have a cage, water bottle, food dish, bedding, the guinea pig food, and various veggies. The pig is about a month old. People have said to get a little hiding spot for them but it is also linked to solitude. These are some of the questions I still have about them:
1. Can they eat too much?
2. How much of what do I feed them? -- Do I leave the guinea pig food out all day, and just refill it when its empty, or just a certain amount per meal per day (I'm feeding two meals a day). Also, for the vegetables & fruit.. is there a certain amount to feed, and is that a once a day thing, or all day long?
3. I know that guinea pigs will eat their soft fece pellets, but is it normal for her to poop in her food dish? The dish is a little large for her, she can fit completely in it, so does she think of it as a hiding spot, or a bed of some sort?
4. Is there any way of getting her to calm down as I'm getting her out of the cage? I don't come at her aggressively, or above her (because she's prey). She's completely fine once out of the cage, but while in the process of getting her out she runs around the cage.
If you actually read all this, I really appreciate. Thanks ahead of time!
