Is it healthy for a marriage to go out with friends while your spouse stays home and watches the kids?

My wife and I do not have a lot of people in the area to watch the kids. We go out by ourselves a handful of times through the year. However we can still go out with friends if 1 of us stays behind. Is that healthy?
She probably goes out a little more than me, but I don't mind. I think I may need to make more of an effort to see my friends. However my kids are 2 and 4 and I feel bad not spending time with them.

Thoughts?

Of course it's healthy. You both need the break and the ability to socialize with friends. People in healthy marriages don't have to spend every waking hour together.

Of course it is. Why would it be bad? You need your own friends and your own lives.

Try to maintain a balance between going out and staying with the kids .This matter should be discussed with the partner and arrive at a solution so that both will have time to go out and also to see friends without neglecting the kids . Going out together as a coupe is the best if some arrangement could be made to look after the kids .

Sigh.....there are moms you can trade babysitting with, hire a teenager in the neighborhood, hire a company.
It's possible if you want to.
