Scared to eat my steak and eggs?

I was thawing my steak and the water (not exactly clean,mind you) got into the packaging. The steak was thawed, of course, some of it had brown tint and it was sopping wet. I broiled it way past the recommended time (its burnt basically) hoping that will kill the bad bacteria - is it safe to eat?? Also, I left eggs out for 3 days (on a warm vcr! hard to explain) and tested them in water (they all stayed at the bottom), but are they safe to use? I know, I'm an idiot...(and I don't know how to cook...)

Well, my sink is a slow drainer, so a very small portion of the water it was soaked in was not clean (but most of it was new water). I did rinse it off and scrub it with my hands vigorously. And I scorched the meat for about 20 minutes or more under a broiler (lol). Yes, this is definitely a lesson learned, this is what happens when you don't have to worry about groceries and cooking..(I won't cook for anyone else until I know that I can do so safely - This is my first month cooking anything other than macaroni and cheese, be gentle). Well, here goes, my brother always told me that if you cook the meat really well it will get rid of bacteria...

Update 2:

It was 150 with thermometer (if I actually used it correctly). Thanks to the ones who confirmed my suspicions that it would still be safe. I looked up food poisoning and symptoms, just in case, so I'll consider myself on alert. The steak doesn't taste that bad, though I'm sure it could be better. I've been chewing on it (lol) for about 20 minutes (a little piece here and there) and thus far things seem okay. Thanks again. Next time I will be more careful.

And I would never hold anyone to their answers as a liability (thanks for the disclaimer, pytho, lol). I don't blame others for my own stupidity, but seriously, thanks for the input, all.

    Steak: It'll be fine. Rinse off the steak and cook it on a screaming hot surface/flame. You'll be fine.\

    Eggs: If they are not cooked and the shell is not cracked in any way, they are perfectly fine! They don't even refrigerate raw eggs in Europe-- they are sold on the shelves next to the flour and sugar! It's just in the USA we refrigreate raw eggs. So if the shell is intact, they are perfectly fine to eat. Raw eggs last about 3 months, if the shell is not comprimised. Cool, huh?

    I would eat both. The meat will be fine as at that temp for that long does kill any bacteria. The eggs will be fine if the shells are fully intact as the other person said.

    for the beef:

    as you mentioned it is thawed, hence you will definitly see brown water ( it is the blood and water from the meat, blood oxidised).... it is normal....

    by over cooking your meat, you'll be wasting your $$$.. and taste of the meat.... poor thing..

    Overcooking or burning of meat is not good either as it introduce cardon into your meals .. that is also no good for health...

    if you ave a piece of meat that you want to be sure that the baterial is all died... I would advice you to invest on a meat thermometer. or best marinate your meat with wine ..

    for your eggs : you are doing just find... use the water taste is the best.....guide line: find a tall glass... and fill with water... if the egg sink to the bottom it is very fresh...if it rises to the top, it is not that fresh...(crack the egg to see if it smell, if yes, throw the egg away)

    They both sound fine too me. First on the steak, if it was frozen the brown tint was probably freezer burn. Like stated above rinse it off, and sear it nice and good. As for the eggs, hasn't anyone ever bought eggs from a farmers market on a hot summer day? Some of them aren't as "fresh" as you think they are. As long as the whites are clear, and the yolk is yellow, your fine.

    Don't eat the eggs, yuck. And what kind of dirty water was it? Like dish water. Maybe you should stick to eating out. Sorry but please don't cook for anyone else.
