Why do we drink tablets instead of dissolving them into water and drinking the solution?

tablets (eg. Panadol, pain killers etc.)

    several advantages and disadvantages follow for both dosage forms.

    Solution/Suspensions

    - enhanced taste (maybe good or bad)

    - usually immediate release

    - good for people who can't swallow tablets (pediatric/geriatric)

    - shorter expiration date

    Tablets

    - minimal taste (usually good)

    - can have extended release (Once-A-Day dosing regimen)

    - cheap to make

    - better storage stability

    and the list goes on.

    By drink do you mean why we swallow them? I think its because they are bitter as hell and if you drank a bitter solution you might throw it up right away.
