Did anyones status change from a "by1/31" to a 6 week message?
I checked wmr when all of the other fellow 1/31 had gotten their updates to see this message:
Your tax return has been received and is being processed.
If you file a complete and accurate tax return, your refund will be issued:
within six weeks of the received date.
I never had a solid dd date and I didn't want to be a bother to the IRS agents, but now I'm freaking out. Anyone else have this update prior to the weekend and spoke to a rep that you felt gave you some honest information. I just need some type of assurance until I can call them on Monday.

Since you haven't read other answers...copied and pasted it.
It seems that the IRS had a oops.
In many cases the Direct Deposits that are late is a result of the new Fraud Program. The IRS under estimated the amount of returns that would be effected. More than likely your tax preparer didn't lie to you...and it is not their fault.
The new schedule is that returns filed:
On or before Jan. 17th deposit on Jan 30th
filed on 18th 31st
filed on 19th Feb 1st
filed on 20th 2nd
and so forth.... .
That is up to the 24th. Starting on the 25th they changed it and they are being processed normally, meaning four business days after they are posted (which usually means 7 days after you E-File your return, but could be up to 13 days).
Tax preparers have no control over what the IRS actually does...we can only tell you what the IRS has told us. In the end it is up to the IRS to release the refund.

Same thing happend to me, so I called the IRS on Friday. They confirmed my 1/30 date, they don't know why I have that message on WMR. Five minutes later aclled SBBT, money just got there and was released to my bank shortly after. So, its clear that there is a glitch in the WMR system. Don't panic you will get your deposit! Good Luck!
