Your reasons for thinking that dogs are the best animal in the whole wide world?

Unwavering loyalty. Complete obedience so the animal is not a nuisance when you need it to not be one. Unconditional love, so no matter what you do it the animal will love you forever if you show just the tiniest bit of kindness because unlike cats or other animals dogs realise just how lucky they are to have us protecting them and they know they can protect us. Friendship. Your dog will never ignore you if you offer it a fuss whereas a cat will wander off. A dog will make you feel loved and wont ask anything in return except a meal, a roof and the occasional walk. Dog's will keep your feet warm at night and wont sit on your face and kill you like a cat will. You have very little need of a hoover because the dog eats everything that falls on the floor. Waste disposal unit for leftovers no matter how horrid tasting you think they are. Dog will greet you when you come home even if you have only been gone two minutes. Dog will hug and kiss you if you ask them to. A dog will enjoy listening to your voice and will respond to commands so long as it has been taught the interpretation. When you feel lazy a dog wont pester you or annoy you but will happily sleep lazily with you on the sofa keeping you nice and warm. A dog will protect your home from intruders and will often help raise your children. Each dog will have it's own little quirks and personality unlike cats who have only one which is 'I am superior to you' when in fact we are the superiors in the house which a dog will recognise and not only obey but enjoy. A dog can be trained to search for people, guide the blind, find bombs and drugs, listen for the deaf, support children with learning difficulties and have been known to help autistic children understand the world around them through the eyes of the dog. A dog wont sulk from being told off but will in fact learn from the experience and will be unlikely to repeat. In ancient times dogs helped us survive on the hunt and even in recent history have been deployed to the battlefield and many dog handlers will tell you stories of how their dog has saved their life. Dogs are on the front line of anti-poaching in Africa and other parts of the world and for all this a dog only asks that you love it, don't hurt it, feed it once a day, give it shelter from the wind and a decent walk when you can be arsed.

They are adorable, they save human lives, do services for humans, they provide companionship, there's one to fit anyone's life style, they each have different personalities, and they're just awesome like that. They're actually much more intelligent than humans think.

Anyone who owns a do knows how much love they give. Sure, think I'm crazy, but I wouldn't give my dog for anything.
