Dud you quit smoking? Need advice...?

I've only been smoking for about 8 years but tonight I decided to do a complete detox. I bought a vitamix so for the next 2 weeks I am only drinking what I blend (vegetables and fruits) but I decided because im detoxing trying to get healthy that way I minus well quit smoking the same time.

Well, I'm about 5 hours into it and I'm going nuts. I'm at work and having te hardest time not asking someone for a smoke let alone going to the vending machine or mcdonalds to pick up some solid food. I think this is mainly because I forgot the vegetable juice I made at home so I'm just drhinking water but AHHHHHHHHH im losing it a bit I think.

Chewing on a toothpick.. yay F**k my life.

What else can do I here. I have 2 more hours before I can get to my drink and get some satisfaction. Should I just get that cigarette and start in 2 hours?

The problems with detoxing is that regardless of whether or not it really works in removing the residue from the nicotine and the cigs, (the jury is still out on that), the addictive craving is still there regardless if it's in the system or not.

One of the problematic issues with an addiction is that the craving for the substance increases the longer you're without said substance. This is why they frequently say "Once an alcoholic, always an alcoholic" when they're talking about alcohol addiction.

The advantage of nicotine is that unlike alcohol, you're not going to binge (usually) if you smoke a cigarette. The craving is much more easily satisfied.

The only way I managed to quit was by using a mixture of the patch and the e-cigs without the nicotine in them. The patch was the step-down dosage to wean me off of them and the e-cig was just to get the satisfaction of the physical act which I had come to take comfort in.

Nowadays I don't use the e-cig unless I'm really REALLY stressed (very rarely) and I haven't had a smoke in three years.

The only thing that will help you quit is you. How many packs do you buy a day? A week? A year? You should add up the cost of one pack every two days or however many you smoke, for one year see how much $$ you're wasting on a nasty habit and health hazard. My friends father had to have his leg amputated from smoking and soon he will need the other one amputated too. He is only 58. His wife has aneurysms and the doctor has given no time when she might have one but the second she does she is automatically killed. She is 52.

    Think about it.

  • Bananas are known to clean black mucus from the lungs of smokers, they are also known to stop the craving for nicotine in cigarettes. My best advice to you is to eat nothing but bananas for 3 months and see how things go from there, or at least eat a lot of bananas everyday if you're not into the nothing but bananas diet. I did that once mainly cause I had allergies to other foods and didn't have a choice, but it was great, I didn't mind it at all, the only down side is that it added up costing me 300 dollars a month

If you don't believe me I can give tons of links that says otherwise, here's one link
