How to get rid of muscle soreness?
I worked out two days ago and did some fairly heavy squats... My legs were a pretty sore yesterday but I could still function pretty well. But today my legs are so sore they are giving out going down the stairs and small things like walking up the stairs creates such a bad burn that I have to sit down because I'm out of breath and my legs are on FIRE! I've read that caffeine and hydration can help get rid of it, kind of sounds like a contradiction but I've had a bunch of water and have had 2 cups of coffee... Any suggestions? I have a practice later tonight. Thanks

Drink lots of water. You can also do this thing where you lay on the ground with your butt against a wall and you place your legs against the wall in the air. I find this helps me a lot when my legs are sore. If you do it for a while it'll take a minute or two to get used to walking again but it usually helps me. You can also try ice and heat. If you have the time, maybe try and get some sleep.

Voltarol. Voltarol all the way. I play ice hockey and on Monday's training session we spent half of it doing 1-on-1 fights. Everyone at hockey is taller than me by a considerable amount so there was a lot of muscle work went into that! I woke up on Tuesday in pain all over and slathered myself with Voltarol. Today? SO MUCH BETTER!

Stretch and hydrate. If you have practice stretch before and once you're about 10 min. into it they should feel alright. Best thing is rest though.
