Was John Boehner alive and awake during the recent Presidential election?
During the recent Presidential election President Obama spefically campaigned on raising taxes for the 2%. President Obama won the election decisively with a majority of the electorate supporting raising taxes on the 2%. Now, in the negotiations to avoid the fiscal cliff, President Obama is proposing such a tax increase and John Boehner says that he is "flabbergasted". Was he asleep during the election?
9 AnswersPolitics9 years agoWhy are so many far, far, far right wing Repbulicans cowards?
Example: Mitt Romney. Demonstrated in favor of the war in Viet Nam but chose to spend his time in Paris as a missionary for his church.
Another example. All the folks on this site pretending to be someone else so they can trash the President and his supporters anonymously -- cowardice.
Another example. All the rich folks contributing to candidates anonymously through Super Pacs. Always cowardly to do that.
Why the cowardice?
15 AnswersPolitics9 years agoHow could you possibly support Romney after seeing the attached?
Watch the attached video and then explain how anyone other then the very, very rich could possibly support The Mitt. http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedd...
8 AnswersPolitics9 years agoIs the far, far, far right wing on Y Answers afraid to debate issues on the merits?
I repeatedly see far, far, far right wing posters here answering serious questions by calling President Obama evil names, calling liberals names, and lying about our Presidents record? Why is that? Are you all afraid to debate the issue on their merits? Lack of fact? Know you would lose?
13 AnswersElections10 years agoSarah Palin and the low tech teleprompter?
Isn't it funny how Sarah Palin rants and rails against President Obama's use of a teleprompter and then gets caught writing notes on her hand like a school child.
18 AnswersPolitics1 decade agocan anyone think of a reason why every member of congress should be voted out?
The problem in Washington is not primarily in the White House. It lies in a Congress where every issue if impacted by lobbyists, conflicts of interest, and the members personal biases. Lets start a movement to defeat all incumbents running for re-election in November 2010.
4 AnswersPolitics1 decade agoAre so called pro-lifers hypocritical?
I believe that to be pro life means to oppose war, to oppose the death penalty, to oppose starvation, etc. It is not a one issue (anti abortion) position.
16 AnswersPolitics1 decade agoName one thing that the Medical Insurance Industry contributes to health care to justify its profits.?
Their profits are huge. What do they contribute in the form of health care?
I see nothing.
8 AnswersPolitics1 decade agoWouldn't it be hypocritical NOT to investigate possible war crimes during the Bush Administration?
The Obama administration is finally opening an investigation into war crimes during the administration of G. W. Bush. This investigation is just that, not a persecution. However, if the investigators determine that high officials indeed ordered torture (Bush? Cheney?), then I believe that they should be prosecuted as war criminals.
If we do not, we are hypocritical vis a vis Nuremburg and the Slavic trials among others.
15 AnswersPolitics1 decade agoI believe that all racists are both Unamerican and Unchristian. Any disagreement?
For example, several answers to my recent question concerning Bush v Obama were, in my opinion racist -- such as referring to our President as a mulatto. (Factual but racist.)
23 AnswersPolitics1 decade agoWhy does ANYONE still believe that George W. Bush was not a failure as President?
Why does anyone still claim that George W. Bush was anything but a terrible President. He entered office with a balanced federal budget, the deficit quickly sinking, and an economy humming along. He left office with a record federal deficit, a budget way out of balance and the worst economy since the 1930s. He entered office with the U.S. at peace and left office enmeshed in two wars.
I believe the was the worst President of my 60 years.
Why would anyone believe differently?
25 AnswersPolitics1 decade agoWhat is a true conservative?
I believe that I am more conservative than most of the so-called conservatives who talk so much today. Examples of true conservatism:
1. The government should stay out of my personal business as much as it can. It has no business telling anyone if they can have an abortion or get married. Mind your own business.
2. Government must protect (conserve) our environment. That is a basic responsibility of government as understood by one of the great Republican Presidents: Teddy Roosevelt.
3. We must use care entering into war. Talk, talk, and talk some more first. If we must go to war, do it, define the goal, achieve it, and get out.
etc.
How is that NOT conservative?
17 AnswersPolitics1 decade agoDoes the confederate flag represent traitors to all that is decent about the United States?
I believe that those who insist on flying the confederate colors represent the worst of this country. The confederates were traitors to this country, are not those who fly that flag the same?
31 AnswersPolitics1 decade agoIs George W. totally clueless -- check out new Spider documentary on HBO and then answer!! I say yes!!!?
George W. Bush demonstrates a complete lack of understanding regarding our liberties, freedoms, and traditions in this country.
He appears to be concerned with nothing but his personal popularity and the prosperity of his family and himself.
4 AnswersPolitics1 decade agoIs Joe Lieberman embarrassing himself by running as an Independent Democrat?
Sen Joe Lieberman just lost the Democrat primary in his home state. He plans to now run as an independent democrat. Is he embarrassing himself? Why do our elected "leaders" think that they are irreplaceable? Is it greed (power = $$$$)? Is it egomania? What is it?
