Not sure but trying to find info on the roper corporation, bradley division

i found a table and 6 chairs in like new condition got to be from 50- 60s with tags on bottom saying Under penalty of law u can not remove this. Dunno just seems like could be worth something.

about 6-7 weeks ago i caught a neighbor breaking into my house on videotape, and i called the police, they came but they were not able to apprehend him. I live right on NY VT border so everytime the cops came he ran to vermont through the woods. Now im getting calls from the police asking me if i want to drop charges ( because they cant get him) I just didnt think that was normal. WHy would i want to drop?

The problem is everyone knows where this guy is. In vermont. We know where he works in vermont. But still nothing can be done. I do not really care if NY cant get into VT state to get him thats fine. But say 6 months down the road he gets picked up in New York, i would then like him to be arrested. IS that wrong of me? Why would the police want me to drop charges? I just dont understand. Any info is helpfull, i would really like to hear from any law enforcement on here please.

ok heres the deal.

Yesterday i went to an employment agency here in rutland VT . called labor ready. How this company works is like this. You show up at 5 30 am and wait and hope that you get sent out to work for the day. If you are lucky enough to work you will get paid at the end of the day.

So any ways i went there and the lady at the front desk told me they did in fact have work available, and that i have to take a test first. Ok great lets get started.

In this test you are given a binder with plastic covered pages then on the table is an electronic keyboard in which you enter your answers from each question into this. The questions are all multiple choice.

Ok, now all of these questions are as follows there are 72 in all.

1, In the past five yearshow much would you say you have stolen form previous employers?

a. 25-50$

b 50-100$

c. 100- 500$

d. none i wouldnt do that

question 2. Do you use drugs

a. occasionally

b. all the time

c. rarely

d. never

BY now you get the point. pretty self explainatory right? So when i was done with the test i gave the electronic gizmo to the lady and she hooked it up to a computer then i was told that i failed the test.

Now wait a minute on every qestion i put i did not use drugs i would not ever steal from my employer, I could pass a drug test, and i never started fights. Whats wrong with this picture.

I have worked for a temp agency before and for a little over a year i made airp[lane blades at a general electric company before we (the temps) were laid off. These guy wont let me shovel fkn snow.

I was bewildered and then i talked to some people saying they want you to be a junkie and they want you to just get by so they can feed your habits and youll keep coming back. All in all a smart but very unprofessional way to conduct a business.

I question their ethics is this ok to do? i mean now after researching a bit i found other related questions in here about the same exact thing.

How can a company turn me down because i do not use drugs or steal?

Is there a way to sue this company? I am very offended and very ticked off as i am just looking for some christmas money that is getting harder and harder to come by this day and age.

Many people may say that i am wrong in my asessment, buy i assure you that i am not wrong by any means. I also was telling my neighbor this story last night and he said the same thing to me, they failed him too and he has 5 kids and is not a drug user.

to breez, i know the feeling man this company is something else, i am going to go as far as to pay a friend to take the test and pt down that he does drgs and he has stolen to see if he would pass. Hope we never have to go throgh this crap again lol

I was raised christian, No biggie i respect everyones right to believe what they want. My question is on impaths or empaths? What is this? i just want to know what this means. Does it mean that these few people with this gift can feel how others are feeling or can tell what they are thinking?

I ask only because i have always been able to size people up pretty quickly. Sometimes im almost sure of what certain people are thinking and why. Its kind of scary. But in a cool way. Well anyway i was wondering if maybe i should research things a little more maybe i have a gift that ive never mastered or bothered to learn about.

Ok so i work in a slate quarry in Vermont USA. This is bust your butt kind of job with hammers and chisles and always lifting 100s of lbs.

The average worker makes about 12$ an hour which is pitifull enough but that another ethics question for later.lol.

Im my job at Western Slate we have a christmas bonus plan. If you work 40 hours a week and never miss any time during the week you get 10$ a week pt aside as a bonus. If you work the whole year without missing any time at all you get 25$ a week for christmas.

So there is an opportunity to make an extra 1000 or so in a year.

Last month 0ur boss told us we were not going to get the 25$ bonus anymore. we will be going back to 10$ ok I hope u are still following.

Now last week the boss comes in just a few weeks before christmas and says they will not be doing the christmas bonus this year or anymore for that matter. Is this legal? I mean how can they jst do that. People have had to make sure they were not late at all and never missed a day to get this bonus. I could see if they said next year they werent going to do it and that this was fair warning but thats not how it went down.

Is there anything legally i can do? I feel terrible for my friends that work here and they have kids, i mean its just rediculous everyone of them was counting on the money. We have had this bonus for 17 years now and never has this happened.

Also i want to mention that the company is not slow at all. They demand a 46 hour work week now and want you to work overtime on satudays. If anyone here knows slate there is a ton of money in it for the owners, and the workers are getting crapped on.

Liscense question from nevada?

ok i have a drivers liscense in vermont. I just moved to nevada. i have to retake my drivers exam because ive had more than 4 tickets in last 5 yrs. If i fail this exam will they take my vermont liscense from me? will i still be able to drive in nevada?
