I remember driving out to Minnesota and there is a stretch of highway in Wisconsin that the pavement is a red tone. It was always a sign that we were almost there. Does anyone know what highway this is? why it's red?

I've been seeing this guy for a couple of months now (both in our late 20s). After about a month he came over to my place for a date (we live about an hour apart) At this point it was assumed he'd be sleeping at my place and I couldn't believe he just brought his dog over without asking, let alone an invite. I have a very well-kept condo and don't necessarily want a dog who drools and sheds there. Mind you I really love dogs, and would love to have my own (one with hair, not fur, as I don't like the fur all over the place). Anyway he was obviously waiting for me to offer to take the dog in at the end of the night, which I did, I even got out a couple beach blankets for the dog and made a little bed out of it. Well, sure enough the dog gets into a clean stack of laundry and makes THAT his bed! So fast forward a month (during that second month almost always I came to him to avoid the doggie situation again). Well we had a date planned for a Saturday afternoon and he called me up asking if I'm going to allow him to bring his dog or what. I just don't get why people feel their dogs are invited everywhere they are! I hate that I'm coming off rude to him by saying no, but I'm not willing to change my view (yet!) if things progress I realized eventually this dog will be living with me too.

so does anyone else have suggestions on how to politely say "just you" or am I stuck doing all the driving until I relent on this?

anyone know who (Nike etc.) the running commerical that just came out is for? It's a motivational one about the road always being there or something. I know I'm being vague I just can't think of what it is!!! any ideas?

I live in a condo complex (about 300 units, various buildings and townhouses) There's a fair amount of kids in the area. This will be my first halloween there and I planned to take my two nieces trick or treating. Is it rude to just leave a polite note (maybe with a picture of my nieces all dressed up) on my door apologizing for not being home and asking kids to help theirselves to a few pieces of candy) then leaving either a bowl or a bag by my door? Am I better off just not doing anything? I don't want my neighbors to think I'm inconsiderate or unfriendly, but I'd much rather spend the time with my nieces...

Is there a folder on the drive that stores all the websites visited (other than the temp internet files, cookies, history folders) My question is how to do this since I use a company computer and I'd like to "clean" it before I turn it back in so the IT guy wouldn't see every site I've been to.

okay, so I'm not sure what this means and maybe more people will have a better idea. Last week a guy at work asked if I'd go to this diner where I live, we went, had an AWESOME time (I'm certain it wasn't a one-sided thing) we just had dinner and he left(he lives about an hour away) was this a date?? not even a hug? at first I thought he just really wanted to try this place but the night was kind of "datish" Anyway he's been quiet at work yesterday and today (normally he's almost obnoxiously loud) I talked to him after work and teased him about some jokes we have and he told me that (short version) he has some things on his mind the past few days and is going to take a few days off to relax. Then he tells me he hasn't had that much fun out in awhile and asked why I was so quiet at work. I have no clue if he's interested or if his "a lot on my mind" story was "let me down" gently. I don't think I've given him the impression that I want to date but I wouldn't mind it if he wanted...

I'm going to try to make this short but give enough info. I'm 24 when I was younger I had a very talented, thin, intelligent older sister. (top of her class, skater) 6 yrs older than me. I had a very low self esteem growing up. I avoided all types of competition, always on a diet (since 12±) When I turned 15 she moved away and pursued skating prof. through the last 9 years I've matured, gained confidence, I have a GREAT job, lots of friends, attractive. (I really don't have a reason to have low self esteem - and didn't until she came home) At first things were fine, she didn't have friends here so I took her out with me, I've kinda lost the "only daughter/sister" spot I held in the fam for the past 9 yrs - which was expected, but now she's getting a job at my work. I feel like the insecure 12 yr old all over. She's a great sister and I love her and realize none of this is her fault or intentional. It's effected so many areas of my life and I know I need to deal with it, but how?

I have real gold, whether it's 18K rings, 24k earrings, necklace charms. they all leave an obvious black mark if I scratch my skin with them. Is there any truth that it's because of a lack of iron? othe alloys in the metal? anyone have a reference on it?

I'm trying to think of gifts for my brothers. One is very much involved with hunting (deer and duck mostly) while the other is more of a fisherman (although they both fish regularly in the season). Any good ideas for either. We're from the northeast so it'd be mostly fresh water fishing (and ice fishing) possibly good knives/tools that they wouldn't buy for themselves... Any ideas??

Why is it people who do not believe in a religion or in a God ask so many questions in the Religion and Spirituality section? And by ask I mean insult religions (Christianity for the most part)? Is it simply to provoke a reaction or to gain insight on something you don't understand? I'm not trying to come off as condescending, I just don't understand.

does it look weird to have the trim painted a darker color than the walls? I wanted to do the walls a real light off-white/cream color and the trim a rich brown. (the carpeting is a medium blue and my furniture is brown)
