  • Architect blueprint comcheck?

I had an architect who drew a floor plan for me. We submitted this through the town for the construction permit and is now asked to provide a COMcheck for this project. Anyone knows what this is? How long does it takes and does it cost money? The architect told me he doesn't cover for it base on the amount of $$$ I have paid for his service.

  • Used car warranty denied by dealer?

My girlfriend bought a used Subaru from a local Subaru dealer. Recently we experienced some mechanical issue with the vehicle and it's suppose to be cover under the extended warranty but we were denied such claim. Reason is that the dealer accused us of damaging/caused the problem ourselves. We have no experience or much knowledge to be messing around with this. The only thing that I can think of is our local GoodYear shop. The last time I was there for an oil change + wheel alignment was 7 months ago. The damage was said to be something with the tire bearing and axel. Missing nuts and not installed properly. Though it has been 7 months, my girlfriend don't use this vehicle much so of course stuff doesn't break down until certain mileage. Please look at the photo and tell me if a poor wheel alignment job could've cause such damage? Some advice on what I should do next would be great. Subaru headquarter took the dealer's words and turned me down on the warranty as well. Image: https://s31.postimg.org/u6o2sk0zf/IMG_20160720_100...

  • U.S Customer seized shipment?

I bought a few items from a website. It's similar to ebay and amazon. However, the seller is from overseas. From the description on the website, the sellers stated that the item is authentic. After the item arrive in the U.S, the custom department have seized the property and claimed that the item are counterfeit. They are given me a few options such has Petition, offer in compromise, abandon, court action. Base on what I have read online, as a buyer, am I responsible for this because it seems like they are targeting the importer/receiver, and not the seller who made the false claim.

  • USPS: Return purchased stamps?

I never purchase stamps before so when I went to a local USPS office to get some, asked for a roll of 20 stamps... instead of asking for a booklet... anyway, I was applying for a PO box as well so I rushing and went ahead and paid for the stamps first with my credit card..later when I looked at the receipt again, I saw the $50 charge for the stamps so I asked if I could return the roll ( sealed in plastic wrap) and just get 20 stamps instead ...the lady at the counter refused to refund me because I used a credit/debit card... Is this legal?

  • USPS refused to accept package dues to weight?

I tried to send a package with a prepaid label..i sent this same package once already and it was returned to me because the receiver did not provide the correct address. The package weight 3lb 66oz...so I have to round it up to 3lb 7oz on PAYPAL because that's where and how i pay for my label. When i tried to drop off the package, the lady at the counter told me that the weight on the package is 3lb 11oz on their scale, and the weight on my prepaid label is less than 3lb 11oz... I argued with her for 5 minutes and she still does not understand what I was telling her... my label cleared stated 3lb 7oz..not 3lb .07oz....and if their scale actually says 3lb 11oz..then I am actually paying more for the postage cost anyway...I have sent this exact same package once already without a problem..

  • Ebay seller sent defective/damage macbook?

I bought a brand new Macbook for $1150 on ebay. After receiving it and using it for 28hrs, there were a black stripes going across the screen. I contacted the seller to check and see if this was a used or defective unit. The seller stated that it was new and it might have been damage during shipment. So instead of taking it back and refund me, the seller filed a claim with UPS. I already opened a case and escalated because the seller ignored me for days. So after a week the seller filed the claim with UPS, I did not receive any phone call, email, or anything regarding to the arrangement for UPS picking up the macbook. When I accessed my ebay account, EBAY CLOSED THE CASE in the seller FAVOR. I called and ebay said that UPS tried to contact me multiple times but couldn't reach me. When in fact, I did not receive any phone call or email. I did received one single email when the claim first open saying that UPS might have to inspect the package. So I called UPS right away, they said that someone came by to pick up the package but no one answered. I then asked why I was not notified before this arrangement??? UPS replied, "well.... you need to contact the shipper". So I then contacted the ebay seller again, he/she said that he/she left a message with the claim department. I haven't heard anything since..... Is there anything I can do now?

  • At&t data plan with unbranded Android phones?

I don't have any data plan with At&t and have no intention of signing up. If I were to purchase an oversea smartphone / android phone, will they be able to detect and automatically charge me extra for the data plan? Some of these brands are unheard of. I had an LG smartphone before, which i purchased from Korea, they didnt charge me extra since they didn't recognize it. I'm not sure if I got lucky or if that's how it is for all overseas smartphones.

I'm about to finish my two years accounting degree at the community college and deciding to transfer to the next school for my bachelor. I have a choice of going to Temple U (29k a year for tuition only because i'm from out of state) or go to a near by college for 6k a year. The differences between the two is one is well known ( Temple ) which offers internships, whereas the other one doesnt offer internship....I'm not going to get any money from FAFSA so I don't know if its worth it to put out about 60k for the next two years if i were to attend Temple U....any advices / opinions would be greatly appreciated.

Sally is a cash basis taxpayer and a member of the Valley Barter club. This year Sally provided 100 hours of sewing services to the barter club in exchange for two football playoff tickets. Which of the following is a true statement?

1.Sally need not recognize any gross income unless she sells the football tickets.

2.Sally's exchange does not result in taxable income.

3.Sally is taxed on the value of the football tickets even if she cannot attend the game.

4.Sally is taxed on the value of her sewing services only if she is a professional seamstress.

    5.All of these are true.

I chose the second answer and that was wrong, the 3rd answer is the correct one. Anyone care to explain this one to me before I confront this to my teacher? thanks in advance.
