There are two kinds of people in this world: Those who fit into one of two mutually exclusive categories, and those who don't.
VT Gunman: How long do we have to see that loser wanna-be martyr staring at me from the front page of Yahoo?
He doesn't deserve the post-mortem attention. I'm tired of looking at his face.
7 AnswersCurrent Events1 decade agoMS Excel: Quick way to put multiple sheets into a single workbook?
I often want to work with many independent text files as excel worksheets, and to organize them into a single workbook is cumbersome (right click worksheet tab, "move or copy", etc., each one).
Is there a shortcut or setting that will allow me to, say, open all the files at once combined into a single workbook? Or to collapse all open workbooks into a single workbook?
4 AnswersSoftware1 decade agoI switch my mouse buttons in Windows XP, but they don't switch for some games - how can I make it 'stick'?
I switch the left/right mouse buttons in the XP control panel, but the setting doesn't always "carry over".
Myst IV, Doom 3 for sure have this problem. With Doom3 I have to do the menus "reversed" (for me), but I can configure the game controls. For Myst IV, I have to use the "wrong" button configuration for game play.
Is there a general fix (which would be nice)? If not, how about a specific fix for Myst IV then?
2 AnswersOther - Computers1 decade agoPelosi's Agenda for the First 100 Hours of a Dem Congress: What do you think?
The Dems are unveiling their priorities if they take over the house with a "first 100 hours" Agenda.
Sounds great to me! All those asking "what are the Dems running FOR", here you go...
Day One: Put new rules in place to "break the link between lobbyists and legislation."
Day Two: Enact all the recommendations made by the commission that investigated the terrorist attacks of Sept. 11, 2001.
Time remaining until 100 hours: Raise the minimum wage to $7.25 an hour, maybe in one step. Cut the interest rate on student loans in half. Allow the government to negotiate directly with the pharmaceutical companies for lower drug prices for Medicare patients.
Broaden the types of stem cell research allowed with federal funds -- "I hope with a veto-proof majority," she added in an Associated Press interview Thursday.
All the days after that: "Pay as you go," meaning no increasing the deficit...
7 AnswersPolitics1 decade agoDoes the Republican Party worry about sexual morality because they themselves are sexually immoral?
Now that Republican Representative Foley has resigned from Congress due to innappropriate sexually-explicit email/im's with underage boys, can we finally lay to rest the idea that Republicans occupy a moral high ground?

8 AnswersPolitics1 decade agoWhat is so hard to understand about apostrophes, anyway?
Just now I saw someone use the phrase "get's on your last nerve". I've seen a professionally produced sign with "Hot Dog's" on it.
Do people really just think an apostrophe goes before any "s" at the end of a word?
2 AnswersOther - Society & Culture1 decade agoCreationist Fossil Challenge: Which of these are apes? Which are human?
I asked this question in biology, and got no creationist answers...so maybe this is a better forum?
According to creationists, apes and humans are different "kinds". At this link there is a picture of 14 skulls...1 is a modern ape, 1 is a modern human skull. What are the other skulls - ape, or human? How do you draw the line?

5 AnswersBiology1 decade agoWhat exactly would qualify as "The Missing Link" for a creationist?
I keep seeing creationists talk about "The Missing Link", and insist that such a thing has never been found.
What, specifically, are they looking for?
Are they simply ignorant of the fossils in the links below (the boring alternative), or is there something *specific* they're looking for that we haven't found? And what could it be?
9 AnswersBiology1 decade agoWhy so little Chaffey/Laffey coverage compared to Lieberman/Lamont?
Both races involve moderate incumbent Senators facinig a challenge from within their own party by more "hard line" candidates? Lieberman/Lamont was big news and heavily analyzed, yet I've heard very little about the Chaffee/Laffey race in Rhode Island?
Why did the Democratic race attract so much attention, but the nearly identical situation with Republicans has recieved so little attention? (If Chafee loses today, I assume that will change).
4 AnswersPolitics1 decade agoWhat is the plan for the Iraq War from the Republicans?
While Democrats have been criticized for having no plan for success in Iraq except "cut and run" (despite an actual plan from Murtha available for months), I seem to have missed what the Republican plan is, other than "Stay the Course" or "Adapt to Win" (which aren't plans, only slogans).
I'm primarily interested in an official Republican position, if it exists. If not, an unofficial one will do and surely must exist somewhere.
(I asked this question a short while back in "Military" and received no actual answers; trying again in a different category).

28% drop in overall Primetime ratings for Fox, while other news networks are gaining viewers.
6 AnswersMedia & Journalism1 decade agoWhy are people so emotionally attached to Pluto being a planet?
Why do some people seem to be so upset about Pluto not being considered a planet? I know many of them don't understand the context or reasoning for the decision, but many reactions I see aren't just confusion, they seem positively resentful.
14 AnswersPsychology1 decade agoWhat is the Biblical basis for identifying the serpent who tempted Eve as Satan?
I was taught that the serpent of Eden was Satan, and this seems to be commonly accepted by Christians, but the actual text is pretty clearly just talking about serpents.
Is there a Biblical basis for calling the snake "Satan" in this context?
