  • Why is Yahoo! Answers exclusively ignorant political spam and rants now?

I don't understand what the purpose is. It's just a bunch of "Anonymous" people posting a bunch of dumb nonsense to each other. What is the purpose? Is it bots?

  • How are couches at IKEA packaged?

Thinking of buying a sofa there but it seems like the couches aren't going to come in just regular flat boxes like everything else there does. Would an average sized love-seat fit in a Passat?

  • Question about bandages on a cat?

Just took a cat to the vet and they bandaged up her paw.

The bandaging itself is pink, but at the tip there is some brown gauze/wrapping and at the top there is also some brown gauze/wrapping. It doesn't completely go around the bandaging in either place.

I know we need to do as much as possible to keep her from taking the bandaging off, but I'm curious what the purpose of the brown wrapping is, and what would happen if we at least cut it a little bit to discourage her from pulling at it?

  • Gaming performance in Windows 8 compared to Windows 7?

I was wondering if someone could provide some convincing evidence that overall, gaming performance in Windows 8 is better than in Windows 7. I bought 8 as soon as it came out and didn't notice any significant performance differences. And then I got 8.1 when that came out, and the native DPI scaling was such garbage (I use a 46" TV as my display) that I just had to quit and go back to 7.

Now, recently I've seen several benchmarks showing the performance difference for Battlefield 4 on Win8 specifically (due to the native DX 11.1 support in 8 that is lacking in 7, among a couple of other factors). My question is, is there any proof out there that other, older games would benefit from the upgrade?

I abhor the Windows 8 UI (specifically how the buttons on prompts and title bars look, and how the "glass" feature of the task bar itself looks like trash), but I'd be willing to upgrade if persuaded that my games would run better on it.

  • Consequences of getting caught during intercourse in a car?

Wife and I have a fantasy of having intercourse in the car. Not in a moving, just parked somewhere secluded.

But I'm nervous to try it because it just doesn't seem like there's a safe spot to do it. There are no real "back roads" any more and there's always the risk of a cop coming or something. I mean if you're in the middle of farmland and they catch you, what would they do? Tell you to just go home, or actually arrest you?

  • Is it possible to buy a Hyundai i40 estate wagon in the US?

Saw this car in Germany and knew I wanted one... But it's only available in the international markets. Is it possible to get a car imported here, either through a dealership or a private seller?

  • What's the gameplay of Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance like?

I'm a big Metal Gear fan. I understand this game is action-oriented, but I was wondering how exactly that plays out.

Is it mindless button mashing like Dynasty Warriors, is there more technique to it like in Devil May Cry, or is it more of a timed/response-based combat like in the Batman: Arkham series and Assassin's Creed?

  • Which passport control line does my wife (a green card holder) stand in at her home country?

My wife is Ukrainian and is flying over there to visit her family for a month.

We're just trying to figure out which line she should stand in, as either a "foreign visitor" (which seems weird since she has a Ukrainian passport), or as a "resident" (which also seems weird since her K-1 visa has long since expired in the passport, though I suppose that's what the green card is for).

    Any hints? Thanks.

  • Question about features of a rear view mirror in a 2013 Hyundai Sonata Limited?

By default the rear view mirror in this car displays the heading (direction) of the car. But a closer look reveals ℃ and ℉ items that are not lit up. Is it possible to get the mirror to display external temperature, as well? Thanks.

  • Is it true that your account will be deleted if they deny an appeal?

Someone posted a simple math problem and asked to solve it, so I showed that it was possible to do this in Google (and the results would be quicker).

Somehow the answer got deleted, so naturally I appealed it. I submit the appeal and then get this message:

If Customer Care declines your appeal

Your account and your content will be deleted.

Will my account really be deleted? I've had it since at least 2006 -_-.

  • Can you use a keyboard and mouse AND controller in one BF4 match?

I have a wired 360 controller I use for some games on the PC. Obviously keyboard and mouse is best for FPS gaming, but it doesn't work that well in Battlefield 4.... is there a way to set it up to use a keyboard and mouse AND game controller in one round, so that if I decide to just randomly take a jet I can pick up the controller and fly with that? Or do you have to choose one or the other?

  • In BF4, should I open Battlepacks immediately?

Just bought the game and I have a few Battlepacks here. Should I open them immediately, or should I play the game first, rank up first and then open them? Just curious if the rewards will grow with my character or not.

  • When will profile pictures be fixed?

By default I use the American version of the site (answers.yahoo.com), but when I try to change my profile picture and save the settings, it immediately reverts back to the previous picture.

If I go to the British site (uk.answers.yahoo.com), it shows my new profile picture.

So is it actually displaying two separate profile pictures on two different sites or what? And will they ever fix the American version?

  • Do you HAVE to pay Bux for levels in Tiny Death Star?

In the original Tiny Towers, you did not have to pay Bux for levels. You could just add a new Entertainment level, for instance, and it would give you an entirely random Entertainment level (or at least I thought it was random).

In Tiny Death Star, however, it *looks* like you have to pay Bux for levels. But is that really the case? I have 20k coins and only a handful of Bux, and I'm afraid to just buy a new level with coins if it's not going to give me a new one I don't have already (as of right now, I only have 1 level of each type and 3 unique residential levels).

  • Can you not comment on your answer after it's been voted "Best"?

Sometimes the Asker leaves a comment in their rating of the answer, and I click "Comment" and this tiny grey box starts to appear, but it doesn't let me type anything...

Am I not allowed to comment on my own answer after the voting period/best answer has been selected or what?

Also, does the Asker get a notice or e-mail that that answer was commented on after they selected the best answer?

  • How do I restore the default icons in Windows 7?

Slightly frustrating. I was installing custom theme packs on my system, decided to just revert to the default appearance of Win7.

However, now my Start Bar Orb has been changed, along with numerous other icons (folder icons are not the regular manila folders, Windows Explorer icon is orange now, etc. etc.). Is there a simple program I can download to just revert all this stuff to the default?

Or a file that I can delete and then click Windows Update and have it redownload it for me?

  • Is it legal for a workcenter to prohibit all types of drinks except for water?

Friend works at a museum as a receptionist (sitting at a desk, answering calls and giving information/selling tickets to people). Recently they've put a ban on all types of drinks with the exception of water at her workstation.

Is that... legal? Post some specific references if it is/isn't. Thanks.

  • What's the name of this song with a female vocalist?

Heard it on the radio, not sure of the exact lyrics.

A description of how it sounded... Woman singer. There was an emphasis on the bassline, sounded like something out of a Bond movie. The drums didn't kick in until after the first or second chorus.

The chorus had words to it, but all I remember was something like "shockaladalada" (or ... something to that effect, it rhymes with that if it's not exactly that).

The only lyrics I remember, and I'm probably mixing the lines up, were something like, "I try to tell myself I'm not your muse/I promise it's something I won't do" (again, not necessarily exactly like that, but the wording is similar).
