Hi, I'm wondering what season Track and Field events are usually held in, relative to a typical school year.

Would it be right around now when classes get back in session, while its still warm out? Or is it in the spring time? Towards the end of the year?

I have never paid attention in grammar / high school, and now I find myself wanting to join my University's track and field team ( for javelin), and would like to know when the season begins!

I'm looking to buy some new jeans, since my current ones are getting too big on me.

A lot of the stores really close to my house ( Kohl's, Carson's, Old Navy ) don't really have waists smaller than 32 inches. I'm looking for 30 inch waists. ( Apparently, not many people have waists that small anymore =/ )

Since stores like Hollister, A&F, A|X and Aeropostale have clothes that are made to fit tight, would I be better off looking for jeans there?

Where do you suggest I shop for jeans?

If you couldn't tell from the avatar, I'm a guy if that matters. I usually answer my own questions, but I've never really paid attention to my jeans until recently, when I realized I should be wearing them tighter to show off my assets.

Also, jeans that come pre-ripped: Yay or nay? I rather rip them myself by being clumsy. Haha!

Alright. I have to make a phone call to make plans with this girl who wants to hang out.

Shes pretty much one of the most attractive girls at my entire college ( not trying to brag, in fact I'm actually intimidated by her ) and I'm super nervous. I'm usually not like this, but this girl is making me nervous as heck!

I'm planning on going tanning after I get my upper body waxed ( Male, obviously ) and am wondering what is the best lotion to use for a tanning bed? Brand, where to buy it, ect!

This is my first time going tanning, but I've read up a lot about it and talked to a lot of people, so I've weighted all of the risks and will take all necessary precautions. Plus I tan really well in the sun during the summer, and I don't burn, so I'm not too worried.

Going to get one done eventually, wondering what a ballpark estimate would be? I want to get my chest and back waxed, its pretty thin and not very bushy, in case they bill on how bad the hair is, haha!

This is what I do :

(2x+1) Log 7 = log 3

2x+1 = log 3 / log 7

x = ( log 3 / 2 log 7 ) - 1

I came across this word problem in workbook and I can't seem to figure out where to begin. It goes :

A canoeist's rate of speed in still water is 8 miles per hour. If he can travel 60 miles upstream and 60 miles downstream in a total of 16 hours, what is the rate of the current?

I have no idea where to begin with this :( .

A winery has a vat to hold chardonnay. An inlet pipe can fill the vat in 40 minutes, while an outlet pipe can empty it in 120 minutes. Through an error, both pipes are left open. How long will it take for the vat to fill?

If log of 5 base a = 1.77 and log of 2 base a is 1.23

Find log of (Fourth root of two over 5) base A

The correct answer is -0.64, but I can't seem to get it. I come up with -1.4625, where am I going wrong?

I use the quotient rule, and then the power rule, but come up with the wrong answer. =/
