  • dropped my i phone SE in water?

so I dropped my brand new (14 days old) iphone SE in water about 5 hours ago . I was completely sumerged for at least 10 seconds. It was turned on in sleep mode and the first thing I stupidly did was use my fingerprint to unlock and see if it still worked. It did for a few seconds and I sighed relief until the screen went wonky and then completely black. I tried to dry it off with a towel and took the case off. I tried to then power it down but hard to do with a black screen.

I then put it in a bag of rice and left it for a few hours until I read that was not the best course of action.

so I took it out and gave a shake, some water did come out. I took out the sim card and it was dry (thankfuly).

Now it is sitting on a towel air drying where I will leave it for a couple of days.

So what are my chances of survial, be honest ... yet kind. Brand new phone with no warranty.

    Thanks

  • Can I delay my period with a partial pack of birth control pills?

I am going on vacation in 2 weeks and am due for my period. My friend gave me a nearly full pack of birth control in hopes it will delay my period. Will this work even though I will only be on it for less than a full cycle?

  • wondering what bug bit me?

I was staying in central florida and a somewhat large, narrow dark beetle type insect crawled on me while I was sleeping and bit me. It hurt quite a bit. I saw it in my bed shortly after the bite so that is how I know what it looked like. It was fast moving however so I could not get a real good look. It scared me quite a bit. I left the door open earlier in the day so it may have come into the condo that way. The bite area is still red 24 hours later but it is not swollen or itchy. I am not really concerned but curious. I cannot find anything online but if someone has seen this before it would help. Thanks

  • caterers in Montreal?

I am looking for a restaurant (or two) that will deliver to uptown offices. I will be looking for 15 boxed lunches and 2 snack like platters, One snack for about 100 people to include a fruit platter and the second for 25 which needs to be healthy options. Any suggestions on where I should call? We are visiting several offices in the area over 2 days and have committed to these food items.

  • what to give for a wedding gift?

I have a relative that is getting married. They have been living together for many years and the bride is terminally ill. What would an appropriate present be? I was thinking of gift certificates for perhaps housecleaning services or spa treatments but would love to hear any other suggestions. Thanks

  • Pre-Lit Noma tree that won't light?

It is the one with the remote where it changes colors. It was working last night and the light on the remote indicates that the problem is not with the remote. It is brand new and only a week from Xmas. I really need it to work. My hubby accidentally pulled the plug from the wall late last night but I can't see that being a problem. Everything seems to be plugged in now. We also replaced a broken bulb. It is not lighting at all. Any one have any suggestions?

  • Does anyone know where I can buy a sign that reads "Home Sweet Apartment" ?

I found one when I was travelling to Boston in a store called "Funusual". I wished I had picked it up because it would make a great gift. I tried looking online but couldn't find anything. If anyone knows a store or website where I can find one that would be great. I live in Canada so they would have to be able to ship here. Thanks!!

  • How do I take info from 2 spreadsheets and create a third using only specific data from the first 2?

I am trying to run a query and am not knowledgeable enough with excel or access to complete. What I have is a master spreadsheet with thousands of rows and columns and I am trying to run a query so that I am only extracting some of the data. Right now I am searching the spreadsheet manually and copy and pasting each individual row. I know there is an easier way! Any advice is appreciated. Thanks

  • Can I use openoffice to run queries on excel documents or do I have to use access?

I just downloaded Openoffice on my home PC and it looks easier than access. This would also allow me to work from home whereas I do not have access on my home PC. I am just not sure how compatible they are. I do not have alot of experience running queries but need to learn for my new job.

  • Is a strong loonie a good thing or bad?

I have heard some say that it is a negative thing for the Canadian economy but I do not really understand why. Also I am wondering if the American economy is really in that bad of shape? Do they realize that our dollar is worth more than theirs? What about our low unemployment rates? That is certainly a positive thing for Canada. I find this all really interesting and would love to hear Canadians and Americans opinions.

    Thanks

  • I bought my child's babysitter a book for Christmas that I am afraid she may buy on her own. What should I do?

My child's sitter and I were talking about this book. I saw the book on sale and bought it for her for Christmas. The more I think about it the more I am afraid that she may buy the book herself before Chirstmas. My friend said that I should give her the book now and then just buy a smaller gift for her closer to Christmas. I am not sure what to do.

  • Fever and rash?

My 7 year old has had a fever for the past 2 days off and on. He has been tired and complains of a headache and belly ache. He has been exposed to Rubella but has been vaccinated so I thought he just had the flu. Today he seems to be feeling a bit better but broke out in a rash which is tiny pink dots on his face, legs and back which he states are not itchy. I called the nurse helpline and she said it was not the measles because he was vaccinated. I am taking him to the clinic tomorrow but wanted some info first because I think that the nurse may be wrong. Any info or insight would be helpful.

  • For Parents- Young teens and drugs?

My 13 year old son is starting to have problems with drugs? (Pot and cigs) I am worried that this is going to lead to a life long drug habit and possibly stronger drugs. We have tried talking to him but it is not sinking in. I am looking for online resources and a movie about teens and drugs would be great.

Any good websites or other advice would be helpful. Thanks

  • Would you recommend skylights for the kitchen and bath?

We are doing some major renovations soon and I am considering installing a rectangular skylight in the kitchen and one of those new circular tube ones in the bathroom. They look cool and it would be nice to get in more natural light. I have heard stories about them leaking. I want to make sure they are not more bother then they are worth. Is it really expensive? Would it be advisable to have them installed now, while the workers are putting in the new roof?

    Thanks
