  • How to relieve stomach pain and bloating from a binge?

Today was my mom's birthday and we went to a buffet and dessert shop where I binged roughly 8,000 calories. (btw, I suffer from BED.) My stomach hurts so bad I spent 10 minutes dry-heaving and crying on the ground lol. Lying down doesn't help and makes it worse and I also can't breathe. How can I relieve this stomach pain and calm the bloat? I tried drinking tea but I'm so full that the tea made me gag. Can I take menstrual cramp pills to relieve the pain?

    Thanks in advance.

  • BMR of anorexic females?

Let's say you had a female anorexic who practiced EXTREME restricting every day along with fasting.. How low could her BMR get?? Since BMR decreases with weight loss, could it be possible for an anorexic's BMR to be as low as 500 or something like that?

    Thanks.

  • Calorie counts on food labels inaccurate?

I just read a ton of articles about the inaccuracy of calorie counts on food labels. I'm starting to freak out a little because I'm trying to control my weight. Should I be concerned about underestimation on labels? Or is the discrepancy insignificant?

Please don't write me off as overly paranoid. I really need an answer.

    Thanks!

  • Starvation and metabolism?

I've heard two sides of the argument about weight gain after starvation. Which is true?

    1) Because your body has been starving, when you increase your caloric intake your body is shocked by the sudden calorie sufficiency and therefore speeds up metabolism and burns right through it, making you initially lose weight then gain.

    2) Because your body has been starving, when you increase your caloric intake your body clings on to every calorie in order to survive and your metabolism slows down, making you gain weight.

  • Why am I not losing weight?

    Hi guys,

For a month i dropped from about 1200 calories a day to 600. I know it's not healthy so don't lecture me, I'm working on bringing it back up. But for some reason I maintained my weight eating 600 cal a day. I'm 5'1" and 103-105 lbs, and i swear i didnt lose a single pound throughout that entire month. I don't believe in starvation mode either because if that was real there wouldn't be anorexia.

Does anyone have an explanation? I'm just curious. Thanks

  • How to stop binge eating?

I have binge eating disorder. I usually eat around 1000 calories during the week with some light exercise but on the weekends i go crazy and binge 3000 calories a day. I feel disgusting afterward and i cant control it and if i dont binge i get fidgety and naseous but while I'm binging i feel disgusted with myself but i cant stop. Then after the binge i get depressed and suicidal then try to repeatedly starve myself. Every calorie i eat i have to make a mental note of and i get so paranoid about everything i eat i have to plan my whole days diet and make sure i dont go above 1000 cal. Food and dieting is always always always on my mind and i cant stand it dictating my life but i dont know how to stop it. I am involved in extracurricular activities so for those of you who might say to get involved on an activity to reduce eating and take my mind off it, i already am involved in activities. I can't get treatment for this because i cant afford it and i am a minor, my mom doesn't see this as a legitimate problem so she refuses to get help. I dont have any friends i can talk to about this either. As I type this I have just binged and I feel so disgusted with myself I feel like I'm going to puke. Please help ): i know it's a pretty common thing and that my case is definitely not as severe as others but please help

  • Is it bad to eat large quantities of high protein foods?

Recently I have been eating TONS of beans; the kind I eat specifically has 90 calories per 30g, but I have binge eating disorder and I tend to eat them in mass quantities (probably 800 calories or more). I'm 5'1" and probably about 103-105 lbs. I don't have much time to exercise but I do some weight lifting on weekdays and running on weekends (nothing intense though). I'm trying to lose weight and I'm not a fitness expert but I'm guessing eating this much is going to prevent me from losing weight. Does it make a difference that it's healthy protein rich food? Thanks.

  • How to make short shorts longer?

I bought the cutest pair of shorts recently but they're wayyy too short. Everything else fits fine so I don't want to exchange for a bigger size. Is there some way to make them longer (ex. sewing fabric on the bottom)? Please don't tell me to buy new shorts or pull them down lol. Thank you (:

  • Showering every day or every other?

I know it s apparently harmful to your hair by showering everyday bc it strips it but my hair gets greasy after a day and i cant stand it! also my hair is completely flat if i dont wash it everyday and i hate it. I get up at 5 or so and go for a run then shower (both body and hair) afterward, and though i dont sweat i feel like i should wash my hair especially after a run?? would it be okay if I used a very mild everyday shampoo fortified with oils like argan oil??

  • Is there a way to lose weight without cardio?

I usually run about 2 miles every morning, which makes me feel and look pretty good. However, I recently injured my knee and was instructed by my doctor not to run or do any strenuous exercise. I've already gained weight in the couple of weeks I've stopped running... Is there something I can do that won't put stress on my knee but will help me lose weight? Would pilates work if I did them every day?

    Thank you in advance
