  • Is it possible for me to break my lease without paying any penalties?

I live in Florida and currently have a lease where I live until July. Ironically enough if you change your mind about living here within 30 days you can get a full refund, but we've been here 60 and NOW I hate it. We have serious africanized hunny bee and wasp problems in our outside stairwell (only access to our door) and I have been told we have to deal with it, they will spray and I am more than welcome to go get spray myself and knock down the nests with a broom (<What my Property Manager told me to do) when it clearly states in my lease that they pay for pest control. These are aggressive bees and due to that nature we find ourselves having to run up and down the stairs whenever we are coming and going. This is not only dangerous to my boyfriend and I, but also our one year old and our three year old that is also forced to run up and down the stairs if we are unable to carry her. I have also had elderly company have to attempt to run up and down, very dangerous! Also, we recently had some discrepancy about our lease and the initial fees. Our lease is drawn up incorrectly in that the "amount paid" does not actually match what we paid. 60 days after move in they pointed out that we owe this money, when it was investigated by the office it seems as though there was an unauthorized credit on our behalf by someone in the office other than the property manager and I was told (verbally) that we did not have to worry about it when I brought it up to them last month, again by someone other than the property manager. So now we paid the balance (which I don't think we should have had to considering all of the mis-communication between office staff seems to be the main cause of the balance to begin with.) and because it took them 7 days to deposit our check, it bounced. Now they are saying we owe them $100 in fees, and they are claiming it is our second offense of bouncing a check and our punishment it that we can no longer pay by personal check. This is also untrue, this is our first time bouncing a check. I just don't know what to do, I want to get out of here. I think they are horrible at managing this property, the bees are causing it to be a dangerous environment outside and I feel like they are discriminating against us or something. What do I do???? Please help before I lose my mind in this hell-hole!

  • UOPX Policies? Anyone know what happens to someone who commits plagiarism?

One of my classmates copied an answer exactly, from this site actually, as an answer to a DQ (Daily Question). I'm assuming they were caught because we were told to no longer comment on their post. What's going to happen to him/her? I'm just curious, because it upsets me that some of us actually work very hard to get good grades on our own cognizance. This matter should not be taken lightly, and I will be very offended if the guilty party goes unpunished. This is not the first time I've suspected that another classmate is cheating. For some it's quite obvious, especially when normally their posts look as though they were written by a 12 year-old, and then all of the sudden they are using a more robust vocabulary and fewer (if any at all) grammar and punctuation errors.

  • Mirena questions, can any women out there help?

I have been on the Mirena since the very end of September 2010, throughout October and November, my period was heavy and sporadic. In December it went back to normal. Now, I haven't had in since December, and I'm starting to get worried. I know that my period could eventually stop from the Mirena, but I didn't think that it would be this soon. Did this happen to anyone else? Any one's period actually stop this early or did anyone get pregnant on the Mirena this soon? Thanks in advance!

  • I need help from women who have used or are using the Mirena for birth control...?

I had the Mirena put in at the end of September 2010, my period was sporadic week-to-week through October and November, then in December it went back to normal again. Now, I haven't had my period since December. I know that the Mirena could eventually stop my period, but I didn't think it would happen this soon, so I'm worried that I somehow might be pregnant. Anyone else experience anything like this? Sometimes I think I might be experiencing pregnancy symptoms, but then I don't really know because I have had different symptoms during both of my previous pregnancies. Did this happen to anyone else? Any advice, suggestions, help, etc. would be greatly appreciated! Thanks :o)

  • wrong section, but no one is answering!! need GPS suggestions!?

My family (boyfriend, our two little girls and myself) is driving from NY to FL and we want to purchase our first GPS. We want a really reliable one, one that can re-route us if we get off track, one that talks, I saw somewhere that they can even tell you what lane we need to be in (helpful during traffic on busy unfamiliar highways). Any suggestions? Thanks in advance!

  • my neighbor got cps called on her by the hospital...?

she had cps called on her by the hospital because supposedly they found traces of marijuana in her newborn's system. she says she hasn't smoked in about 2 months and she said she gets drug tested and she has been coming up negative. how is it that they found it in her baby's system if its not in hers? i said maybe it lasts longer in your blood then urine, but i really don't know much about it... anyone know??

please don't be all judgmental in your answers, no one is perfect, and everyone makes mistakes.

  • Introducing my 2 year old to the new baby? Anyone with experience?

So our second daughter is almost here. I have a scheduled c-section on January 19th. My Aunt will be taking our two year old the morning of my surgery and will bring her to the hospital after we have our baby. I'm nervous about what to do when we get home. One because I am having a c-section, and two the fact that our two year old is definitely a mommy and daddy's girl! She seems to be excited about the thought of having a sister, and she is extremely motherly and loves her baby dolls, I'm just worried she's going to think we don't love her anymore. Anyone else been in this situation?

Also, because I get assistance for daycare, my two year old will be home with me for my entire Maternity Leave, how hard is it to get into a new routine with two? Also, my boyfriend will be home to help, BUT he recently fractured his arm, so he can help, but only to certain extents! Any good advice is greatly appreciated!!

  • Disorderly Conduct and Harassment in the 2nd degree?

My boyfriend was out the other night and to make a long story short, I had to pick him up from the police department at 5am. There was a fight with multiple persons against 1 and my boyfriend was not involved in that. The few people that got caught for beating up the one guy all got Harassment, and my boyfriend made a threat to someone involved and got Disorderly Conduct and Harassment in the 2nd degree. He has a prior record from about a decade ago, but they did not know that at the time that they cuffed him and put him in the cop car. My question is, whats the worst that can happen to him at court tomorrow? What can we do? I put in a call to an ADA that we know, but still haven't heard anything and court is tomorrow night. I don't want him to go to jail, we have a 2 year old and I'm 8 months pregnant with our second baby, and if he goes to jail the minimum I saw is 15 days, which would put him there through Christmas. :-(

  • I need some advice, discipline question?? (kind of long, please help!)?

Well, my boyfriend's relatives have been coming over a lot lately, and they have a 3 year old little girl and a 8 month old little boy. We have a 2 year old little girl and I am 8 months pregnant. Our girls DO NOT seem to get along at all. My daughter is having a really hard time sharing her things with this other little girl. Now, my daughter goes to daycare everyday and is around children her age, ALOT, and I never noticed sharing being that big of a problem before, and her teachers at school say that she plays nicely there. The only thing I can come up with is that, when this other little girl is playing with my daughter's things she snatches the toys up and immediatly says "mine". Both my boyfriend and I have sat my daughter down and explained to her that even though all the toys in our house are hers, no one is going to take them away from the house. That the little girl is just using them, etc. and she really seems to get it, then they get playing, and as soon as the little girl says "mine" its like it triggers my daughter into defense mode and they start fighting back and forth over whos it is. Now with my relatives I'm not afraid to discipline other people's children, but these people are not related to me, so I feel funny when I speak up. I really think that if they, as her parents, spoke up and said something like "No, thats not yours, its hers, but you can use it," it might make some sort of a difference. I don't know what to do, but it is really stressing me out. I work all day and am about to have another baby, and I just cant take the arguing anymore. How do I get these girl's to play nice?

P.S. Not being mean or anything here, but my daughter is a little more developmentally advanced then this other little girl, like as far as speech and listening, I think that might have something to do with it too. Like the other little girl might not mean "mine" but thats how she's expressing that she wants to play with that particular toy, and my daughter is seeing it as she's claiming her belongings.

Also, my daughter has A LOT less of a problem sharing her toys with the 8 month old baby.

Please help, they are going to send me into early labor one of these evenings I swear!!!! :-(

    Thanks in advance.

  • Anyone have a preemie, then full-term or longer for second baby?

I had my first daughter at 36 weeks, and I do know that you are more likely to have another preterm baby if you have already had one. Anyone have a preemie then go full-term, or even passed their due date?

  • I'm having weird symptoms, is labor coming? (No stupid answers!)?

I posted a question friday night about long lasting Braxton Hicks (which did subside after I laid down for a little while and drank lots of water.), then saturday night I noticed my breasts started expressing colostrum, all day sunday I had really bad lower back pain (could be because I work full time and have a 2 year old) and now I've been noticing that I'm like sweaty "down there". What the heck is going on? Is this normal? I'm going to be 30 weeks tomorrow and I have a history of preterm labor. Please no stupid answers. Thanks!
