  • How does that quote/paradox about being trapped go?

all I can recall is that it went something like: a deer in a 1 meter by 1 meter fence is trapped. Is it still trapped if we double each side? What if we extend it to the size of a forest? A country? What if we go until it's all the land it can venture to? Is it still trapped? What if we extend the fence to the planet? The solar system? The Galaxy? The universe? At what point is it no longer trapped?

  • how many animals aren't lactose intolerant after infancy?

I know that only 40% of adult humans are able to digest lactose because of a mutation that was beneficial and spread, but I am wondering how many other animals, if any at all, also have that trait

  • is there a good spreadsheet I can get for free (and preferably download) that allows circular references?

For example, if I wanted to make a 'timer' that goes from 0 to lets say 100 in the square A1, I would put "=if(A1>99,0,A1+1)" , but that is an impossibility in most spreadsheets because they do not allow ANY circularity in their formulas

And don't get me wrong, I understand the need for that bug, because it's very easy to accidentally create an uncontrolled, exponentially increasing reference, but there are plenty of cases in which the circularity is no problem at all (like above or in a counting formula, like "A2=if(A1=n,A2+1,A2)", especially if there is an emergency stop formula, like the one that I put in almost all of my codes "=if(E1=1,0, ... )")

  • how do I contact Yahoo about an error on Yahoo Answers?

I am a level 3 Yahoo Answers user (can post 120 answers per day) and I haven't posted an answer for 2 days, and yet when I attempted to post an answer, I recieved this message: "Sorry, you've reached your daily answering limit. Unfortunately you can only answer questions per day."

I've been searching the Yahoo "contacts" page for the last half hour and I've yet to find anything that'll help or even relate to my problem

  • where can I get a very detailed taxonomy of humans?

yes, I know the classic: "animalia, chordata, mammalia, prinate, hominidae, homo, homo sapien, but I'm looking for something MUCH more detailed in its identification, like having "bilateral" and "deuterostomia" between "animalia" and "chordata"...

I do remember at one time that wikipedia had a list about 50 or 75 long, but has since dismissed it, and the longest one I can find right now is only 26 long and fairly broad

  • What is the name of this horror movie?

It's where an asylum patient gets interviewed by a woman where he discloses that he kills because the voices pressure him to kill along with the 'ghosts' of everyone he has already killed... the end is where he tries to strangle her and she sees the 'ghosts' and escapes, only to die in her bed

  • is there a way on youtube to stop seeing any videos from certain users?

you know those certain video makers that you can't stand their style, their voice, their content, just about anything else, that happens to be in every one of their videos? and you know how youtube thinks that if you accidentally click on one of their videos that you want to see all of their videos all the ******* time?

That's exactly what I want to avoid... the question is... how?

  • is there a html code to transform text into unicode and alter the resulting number?

Basically I want to be able to change (for example) "hark through yonder window breaks" into

    "0068 0061 0072 006B 0020 0074 0068 0072 006F 0075 0067 0068 0020 0079 006F 006E 0064 0065 0072 0020 0077 0069 006E 0064 006F 0077 0020 0062 0072 0065 0061 006B 0073"

then take off the beginning two zeroes on them, group them by two, double the first and add the second to it, and then transform it back into text

I need a few more things than that for what I'm wanting to do (like an "if ... than", and a random number for certain letters) , but I'll settle for what I can get...

  • can I make all the sound from my Windows 7 computer come out of only the left speaker?

I have a broken set of speakers in which ONLY the left one still works, and until I can get new ones, I have no method other than stuff I can set on the computer itself to listen to ANYTHING from the right half of the audio... I don't have external plugs, I don't have a headset, I don't have a monitor that has internal speakers (and I doubt the tower does either) , and I have fiddled with the controls, only to find nothing that can help me... is there something that CAN help me?

  • is there a program that I can use to open a full-screen operation in a window?

I am wanting to play an old game I've always loved playing: Roller Coaster Tycoon 2. However, I know that the program can only run the way it is, if it takes up the whole screen. So I want to know if there is a program or something that I can use to play RCT2 in a window so I can do other things along side it? preferably something simple because I've heard of those programs that make a secondary computer, but it takes up a lot of processing power and space... I just want something that can open the program and run it in the window

  • what would it look like on a planet on a galaxy on the edge of the universe?

I mean that when we look at the sky, we see galaxies on every side of us, as if we are in the proximate center of a hypothetical ball, which to me, raises the question if there are galaxies on the edge of that hypothetical 'ball', what would they see in the sky?

  • does the bible mention anything about microorganisms that cause disease?

You know, like with the "Germ Theory of Disease"

The closest thing I can recall is Matthew 10:1 saying "Then Jesus summoned his twelve disciples and gave them authority over unclean spirits, to cast them out, and to cure every disease and every sickness" (NRSV)

  • what do you call an animal that eats minerals?

for the sake of a hypothetical, let's say a form of goat mutated to be able to ingest and digest rocks for intake of non-living material, what would that goat be considered now, alongside being a vegetarian? or in a non-realistic description: In the TV show MLPFIM, dragons are shown to be creatures that eat gemstones. What classification of eating variety can they be classified as?

  • what is a 'cryptozoological creature' (or 'cryptid')?

because by the definitions that I have been given, it is: "a creature or being whose existence has been suggested but is not recognized by scientific consensus"

but by that definition: Santa Clause, Gnomes, Faries, Yahweh (otherwise known as Allah), Zeus, Vishnu, Amaterasu, Ra, Taranis, ex... would all be cryptids as well... though I don't think theists would like their god(s) being on the same plane as Bigfoot, The Loch Ness Monster, El Chupacabra, ex...

but then again: "today's religion is tomorrow's mythology"

  • is there a taste differnce between Wine, Beer, Rum, and vodka?

and I mean the taste, not the aftertaste...

and to be clear: I am legitimately asking because when I have attempted to drink numbers of alcoholic drinks (a number of them without my knowledge before hand, only realizing during the attempted drinking when I could taste the same taste I taste when I tried all of the others, except for the aftertaste which is either some type of fruit, dirt, or something else I can't quite put my finger on)

  • are there types of dogs that are not able to interbreed?

for example, a Chiwawa and a Great Dane might not be able to produce offspring, although I have no information about the possibility or knowledge that the particular example is rational

I am only asking because I wanted to see if there was an example of irrifuteable speciation, and looking at all the types of dogs mankind has breed throughout the years (and not often refuted that these dogs types had diverged from common ancestors) , I was wondering if there was two breeds of dogs that can be considered different species by the common definition of species: "a group of organisms capable of interbreeding and producing fertile offspring"

but even if that is the case, it might only be another example of "Ring Species" which is: "a connected series of neighboring populations, each of which can interbreed with closely sited related populations, but for which there exist at least two "end" populations in the series, which are too distantly related to interbreed, though there is a potential gene flow between each "linked" species. Such non-breeding, though genetically connected, "end" populations may co-exist in the same region thus closing a "ring"."

PS the quotes are taken from Wikipedia articles after verifying that the statements are accurate

  • How long would a TV show last if it was ONLY a direct reading of the bible?

Let's ignore how many people would watch the program or whether there are visuals or not, because that will simply complicate things...

but hypothetically, if there was a TV show that's sole action is to read the bible "verbatim et ab ovo usque ad mala" (word for word from Genesis 1:1 to Revelation 22:21 [or whatever time-allotted end for a particular episode]) , I am wondering how long it will show until it is permanently canceled (probably by the FCC)
