  • random thought, what do you think?

A while back, people proposed a petition to begin building a death star. The government said no, but it got me thinking. Why would we need to spend the estimated amount to build something that big when space provides asteroids that big? They come with a huge amount of metal. So these rocks come with the material we need and the bulk we need. Assuming that we are able to grab one, do you think we would be able to build a death star like station? This is only a random thought, just wanted to hear some feedback.

  • What do you think, would this help?

With all the debate about gun violence, I wanted to bring up an idea. First off, I don't think guns are the problem, but that's not what this is about. I believe we should try to fix the people. A random idea popped into my head. What if we required a mandatory yearly psychologist visit, paid for by the government? It would allow us to profile those that are on the verge of snapping, accurately show how our country's mental health stands, and allow those who need to just talk to do so. It would start at age 13, a yearly visit wouldn't be that intrusive, and we can know who to keep the guns away from. Any ideas? What would happen?

  • Do you have what it takes?

I decided with all the end of the world talk to ask this question. If the zombie apocalypse broke out, right now, what is the closest weapon you could grab?

  • Possible solution to all our problems?

As many people know, America is divided on almost everything. It's about 50/50 on every political topic, and nothing is getting done. So how about we make a congressional coin? This may sound weird, but it could work. We argue about any topic for 2-3 years. If no solution can be found in this time, we flip the coin. If it goes badly, we can always change it later, but at least we can have an answer. Just curious as to what you think about my random idea.

  • Quick question about equality?

Do you think that feminists want equality, or do they want to be above men? Every time I see an argument from someone who calls themselves a feminist, they act like men should bow down before women. Why should what's in my pants determine my place in the world?

  • Random question that would save millions or more.?

Monetary reform isn't really a big deal, but nobody seems to be supporting it. It costs the government 2.41 cents to make a penny. They have no real value, as nothing costs a cent and most places don't accept them anyway. The nickel is in the same position. It costs 11.18 cents to make this 5 cent coin. We have gotten rid of coins in the past. All we have to do is pass a bill to stop making them. Is there anything I'm missing? Why haven't we kicked these coins to the curb yet?

  • Serious question about pot.?

I was talking about pot the other day, I don't smoke it, and I like to see both sides. I can't think of one reason that pot is illegal. Can anyone tell me a reason against it being legalized. Not a political rant, just want to know.

  • Just wondering who is out there?

I see some brilliant answers on here, and some stupid answers on here. I'd like to know who we are dealing with. Please answer what experience and training you have. For example, I am a 19 yr old collage student from Louisiana. I was studying biology, then switched to psychology. I believe in God and I'm independent.

  • Trolling, Trolling, Trolling?

The way I treat trolls is to believe them, and answer honestly. It matters more to me to answer the question, than to guard myself from these little kids. And just in case they are serious, I'd hate to not believe them. How do you deal with trolls?

  • Another debate question, but a good one?

Did the debate change anyone's mind, or make them choose who to vote for? Did the debate have any real effect other than give people more to argue about?

  • Political question: just wondering.?

I see democrats and conservative people fighting all the time in here. I'm independent. I was just wondering if there was a good amount of independent views on here. Post which party you see yourself as.

  • Moon space elevator?Why?

I recently saw a story on building a space elevator on the moon. I understand what a space elevator is, but what I can't understand is what benefit is there to building one on the moon. I read that the total from the project, fundraising not government money, is around $100,000.

  • STFU, Will you join me in common sense?

Every time I get on here, there is at least one question that is purely meant to insult the Republicans or the Democrats. It seems to me that the thing destroying America is our refusal to compromise and try to understand. I'm independent, so I see how both sides are right in some cases, and wrong in others. Both sides have different visions for how America should be, and in the meantime, America is being tied up in so much political b.s. that we can't move forward. I understand that some things are too important to compromise about, but we argue about everything. Both sides act like the other is a monster. If we keep worrying about about the letter behind our name(R or D for those who don't know), we will neglect what's best for America. What do you think, and if you agree, join the political party I just made up called STFU, Stop The Fighting United states?

Evolution or creationism? Personally, I believe that we did evolve, but it was guided by a higher being. I'd like to hear what other people think. Lets try to keep this mature, please.

  • Guns, Guns, Guns. I'm sick of the fighting.?

I keep seeing all these post about the theater shooting and gun bans, but all the comments turning into an internet shouting match. How bout a little friendly debate? Post here what you think about it all in a friendly, non-douche bag way. Respect each others views and if you disagree, show some support for what you're saying instead of just calling them idiots. Please give all douche bag comments a thumbs down, since that's all we can really do. lol. The one who gives the most proof for what they say gets the top comment, even if it disagrees with my views.
