Who claims Mary isn't co-redemptrix?
Yes, Mary is a co-meaditriss and co- redeemer.
God wills, writes Richard of Lawrence, venerable Abbot of Celles, God wills that whatever good things he bestows on his creatures shoud pass through the hands of Mary.Address yourselves to the Virgin Mary, for by her and in her and with her and from her, the world receives, and is to receive, every good.
St Peter Damien remarks "That God would not beplace, that we might feel ourselves under great obligation to her; and in the second, that we might understand that the salvation of all is left to the care of this Blessed Virgin"
This is not from heretics- this is from canonized saints!
St. Germanus has said the same thing, speaking of Mary "No one is saved but through thee"
18 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoCatholics, Hey Marty...don't you believe this anymore?
Catholics- your church fathers wrote in the past, re: Mary:
So that to have recourse to Mary is the same thing as to find the grace of God. Listen, explains St. Bonaventure on these words: Listen, all you who desire the kingdom of God, honor the Blessed Virgin Mary, and you will find life and eternal salvation"
St. Bernadine of Sienna says that if God did not destroy man after his first sin, it was on account of his singular love for this holy Virgin, who was destined to be born of this race. And the saint adds, that he has no doubt but that all the mercies granted by God under the old dispensation were granted only in consideration of this most blessed Lady.
Sounds like you all have lost some of that old time devotion to her!
Isn't this taught in church anymore?

3 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoWhy would a non-christian wear a cross?
Some other question about wearing a cross made me think- you see crosses in every style, from goth to gansta to bejeweled... and everyone wearing them.
WHY would a non-christian want to wear a cross?
24 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoSo.... Peter was the first one to be called Pope?? Where is that written?
Where in history is is written that Peter was named Pope in the first century???
You never read this?: http://sights.seindal.dk/sight/1244_Pontifex_maxim...
Why would a Christian want to hold any titles like that, want to have anything to do with that ancient Roman Ceasar-god cult???
5 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoWHY should you Mormons get upset when compared to "mainstream"?
It is TOTALLY obvious to me that Mormons are NOT believing the same God of the Bible- so why should they get upset when "mainstream" bible-god believers don't want Mormons to place themselves in the same category? Cause they aren't!
Milton R. Hunter, a member of Mormonism's First Council of the Seventy, wrote in The Gospel Through the Ages, p 104:
"Mormon prophets have continuously taught the sublime truth that God the Eternal Father was once a mortal man who passed through a school of earth life similar to that through which we are now passing. He became God - an exalted being - through obedience to the same eternal Gospel truths that we are given opportunity today to obey."
Mormons- the God in the Bible wasn't EVER mortal- He just "IS" and always WAS... God. So the Mormon heavenly father isn't the same one as Jehovah, obviously.
13 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoCatholics- does this happen during Mass at your Church?
Whenever I go visit my parents "back home in the 'burbs" and am there on a Sunday or "holyday" like Easter...I go to Mass with them, out of respect.
I notice that a lot of people go thru the entire Mass without taking off their coats! Strikes me as funny. As if they can't wait to get out of there or something. It's not as if it's COLD in their or anything.
4 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoWHY is this forum so addictive? Are you looking in here from work?

20 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoWhy would I get a thumbs down for saying gay men make the best girlfriends?
hahaha I just got a thumbs down in some other post for stating that a gay man makes a great girlfriend.
Some of my BEST friends ARE gay men and they DO make the best girlfriends a gal ever had. Too much fun to hang out with and do lunch and shopping and the nightlife!
Honestly, they DO make better friends than some of my women friends!!
But I can't call them a boyfriend. Since they are more like a girl.
9 AnswersLesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender1 decade agoAnyone else getting SUPER freaked out over events in Israel right now??
Bible prophecy says something about a peace agreement---which will last for 3 1/2 years.. then all hell breaks loose..........
Bush is now trying to work with others in Israel for a peace accord...... 3 1/2 years from now is 2012.........
Anyone one else ready to move with me to a survival compound????

14 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoMormons, What planet do you believe Jesus came from?
I saw a film that said Mormons believe Jesus came from a different planet, and that all Mormon men believe that someday, they are going to be just like Jesus, and get sent to their own Planet too.
Is this true?
