7 AnswersPolls & Surveys5 years agoBest tips to ensure a cake doesn t slip off the cake board?
I don t think I ve ever actually had a cake that has slipped but I have a two tier cake coming up. My recipes are for a very soft spongey cake, I may have to make the cake firmer for the two tier, though.
I intend on covering the board with paper, I will then have the cake on a round.
I m vegan so I don t use royal icing, what can I use to stick the cake round to the paper board?
I m mainly concerned as it will have to travel for about 20/30 minutes.
Thanks!
8 AnswersCooking & Recipes5 years agoRe pressuring boiler - filling loop has no valves?
After an hour of random googling I m still not sure which valve to turn. I basically have no idea what I m talking about so bear with me.
What I assume to be the filling loop has no valves. There are two valves connected to these pipes higher up however, the two on the right. Is it those I turn?
I m not entirely sure if I can blow the entire flat up but just in case.
Boiler is switched off.

5 AnswersOther - Car Makes7 years agoFeeling sick and bloated during and after eating... indigestion?
So before anyone says it, no I am not anorexic and yes I do eat very well.
Recently I have been feeling very bloated and ill after I have eaten, which usually goes away after around 30 minutes after I have eaten, when I burp. So this is indigestion, right?
But now even more recently I have been feeling sick and bloated while I am eating, is this also indigestion? I haven't really had it before and it's making me really uncomfortable. I also hate the feeling of feeling sick so it's starting to irritate me a bit.
Any ideas as to what it could be?
Thankyou :)
2 AnswersOther - General Health Care8 years agoVegan buttercream - splitting, too runny, melty?
I have been using Vitalite to try to make a good vegan buttercream for a while now however somehow it always splits and just doesn't look right. It is too thin and will melt very easily if not in the fridge. Obviously this is no good for warm days, and I can't keep them in the fridge all day long. Does anyone have a recipe for vegan icing (thick and pipable)?
I have a reasonable chocolate one, I just need a base for vanilla and other flavours that will not melt during the day.
Anyone?
2 AnswersVegetarian & Vegan8 years agoThe pill and the patch - can I switch between them as the pill did not work for me?
I was previously using the patch but then it began to not stick after a few days in certain places.
I then started the pill, which did not work for me at all and changed me so much that I stopped taking it.
I have taken a break from both but I was intending on starting to use the patch again in the next few days.
Will this be okay? As I didn't know if it was okay to switch between contraceptions?
Also, as the patch is also a three week cycle does this mean I won't have a period until the fourth week, like usual? As I should come on in the next two weeks without it.
Sorry if that is confusing! Thanks :)
2 AnswersWomen's Health9 years agoFish tank emergency!?
I basically came home from uni and the tank was gross, there was nothing i could do other than do a complete water change.
I took everything out and rinsed it under tap water
The stones and plants and filter still had a lot of the algae in it, and i put in tonics to get rid of the chlorine.
My fish are currently in a temporary fish tank which has old water in it, but there is nothing in there and they haven't eaten for 4 days and are generally unhappy.
Would it be safe to put them back in the tank? It would be to about 5 parts new water and 1 part old - however i feel they will die anyway if i keep them in the smaller tank.
Advice? I don't want to kill them and I have nothing to test the water - i'm a student and my bank balance is currently at £1.38
Help?!?!
4 AnswersFish9 years agoPainful ankles, running jumping ect?

1 AnswerPain & Pain Management9 years agoNet present value - discount factor 10%...?
What if the question just says discount factor 10%... I'm not sure how you work out what other values you need to multiply the cash flows by?
It seems the values come out of no where... they're 0.9091, and then 0.8264, and then 0.7513... where on earth do these come from?
I don't know how I am supposed to answer the question with just 'discount factor 10%, as I have no idea if you can even work out the other values!
Haha help please :)
Thanks!

2 AnswersLyrics10 years agoAs a vegan (or vegetarian), do you eat any processed foods?
By this I mean say vegan mayonnaise, burgers, sausages, butters?
Surely even a dedicated vegan will eat some processed foods, if you live a busy lifestyle you can't prepare your own fresh food every day, can you?
Personally I eat a lot of fresh food but I also eat butters and sauces, otherwise I think food can sometimes taste a bit bland. What about you?
Feel free to make a comment if you are vegetarian too :)
11 AnswersVegetarian & Vegan10 years agoVegans: do you feel there is enough choice of vegan friendly food to buy in supermarkets?
Just out of interest. Is there anything that you might like? Anything perhaps to take to work with you, such as vegan butter in small pots?
7 AnswersVegetarian & Vegan10 years agoIs it possible to develop a lactose intolerance?
When I eat things that are very milky my stomach seems to reject it, like it makes loads of noise and I can almost feel it pushing food about. Today I skipped milk on my breakfast and my stomach was fine, then I ate an ice cream at lunch and it started kicking off again!

3 AnswersAllergies1 decade agoStomach rumbles in lessons and exams...?
Does anyone else have this problem? It completely ruins my concentration because I'm always on edge that it's going to rumble!
I'm pretty sure it happens to everyone at some point but I can't help thinking other people in the exam are going to be like WTF.
It's not even because I'm hungry btw because I definitely eat enough.
