I am trying to create a homemade DVD but don't know which format would be best the save the content in for the best quality picture. Would it be AVI, MOV, MPEG-2 or something else.

My 19 year old daughter was admitted to the hospital on Sunday for Meningitis which symptoms had started the day before on Saturday afternoon. They couldn't decide it if was bacterial or viral until they did a repeat spinal tap which pointed more to viral. They let her come home the next day on Tuesday. Today is Friday and her headaches are so not much better. It will be one week tomorrow since the headache started. I took her to our family doctor the day after she was discharged and she was given antibiotics (Z-PAC) to take. How long do the headaches normally take before they start to get better?

This is more than just a minor repair and it doesn't have anything to do with tires. My daughters boyfriend was helping us move and had his dad's hand truck. He forgot and left it laying across the toung of the traier and vehicle. We forgot it was there and left, dragging the handtruck along. The metal support plate across the bottom broke into two pieces and the wheels broke off (not flat). I feel like I need to help him pay for the repairs, but I don't know what kind of shop to take it to!

The ceiling fan is extremely old and doesn't have the usual color wires I'm used to. The kit is somewhat newer but no instructions with either of them,

The ceiling fan wires for the light kit are color coded red and gray

The light kit wires are black and white,

I usually deal with them that at least has the same color wiring on ONE of the connections which lets me know which to connect the other to, but this one isn't that way.

I'm thinking the red and black would go together and the white and gray but I want to make sure. I'm wanting to surprise my daughter with this by the time she gets home but I have no man in my house to help me with this one.

She (age 22) was picked up by a police car at 9AM and taken to the institution. She called me crying from the back of the police car and wanted me to come to the institution which I had no problem doing. They found no reason to keep her and sent her home. While she was gone, he and his mother changed the locks on the house so she couldn't get back in. When the police brought her back home, her husband did let her in to get personal belongings. While there, she picked up her 18 month old. The mother-n-law shoved my daughter into the wall while the child was in her arms and tried to jerk the child out of her arms hurting his arm. Once outside, the mother-n-law pinned HER up against a vehicle screaming at her. The little boy in my daughter's arms was crying because he was scared. I got the child out from between them and took him to MY vehicle. You would think that if she were so concerned about the child she would have come after me, but instead she continued the attack on my daughter. We took the child to the Emergency Room to have his arm checked out. Naturally anytime there is an altercation like that police have to be contacted by the hospital. The mother-n-law by that time had called the DHS hotline, lied and said my daughter HAD been committed, refused, escaped and kidnapped the child. She knew this wasn't true because she was there when the police returned her back home. My grandson was taken into DHS custody for a 72 hour hold but ended up being gone 1-1/2 months going to sleep and waking up in stranger's home. This broke my heart for him. I immediately went to the ends of the earth to get him back, filing to be a Provisional Foster Parent which I did get and eventually he AND her premature twins who were born 4 months early in January and were still in the hospital in August on the day all this happened. At the adjudication hearing, my daughter was returned custody of her children since DHS investigated and found out everything the mother-n-law said to be a lie and would not return to children to that environment where it was dark constantly with no sunlight ever coming in PLUS numerous other issues. Oh, btw, my daughter is pregnant again and WAS on the day he kicked her out and he KNEW that. He has threatned to kill people (even me) and threatened to degut a family that included even a tiny infant (he only told my daughter this). My daughter made all this be known on the witness stand. DHS returned custody to my daughter with the understanding that she live with me so we now have moved from my small apartment to a larger house to have room for all of us. Her 18 year old sister also lives with us and helps out with the children a lot. This caused my to break my lease and now have to pay close to $2000,00 in liquidated damages for breaking the lease early.

NOW, my daughter was contacted a week ago yesterday by this jerk wanting to know if we needed anything for the children, and since then she has been spending a lot of time with him. I know she has been telling other people they are thinking about working things out and getting back together, BUT she tells me different. I'm sure she tells me what she wants me to hear. I have tried to convince her that I feel he is just telling her a lot of bull to gain her trust back just so he can get the children again, then I feel this would happen all over again. Both of the twins get a big SSI check because of their special needs. They are 9 months old, one is on oxygen with a shunt in her brain and the other has had to have a surgically implanted feeding tube. They are BOTH going to have to be placed in glasses within the next months. DHS has said that if she goes back to him, the children will remain with me and NOT go with them, but she STILL continues to hang around with him thinking that will eventually change. I don't understand how she can even WANT to be around the people that caused all of this to begin with causing her children to be put in foster homes. She thinks he has changed, but I don't think he is capable of changing, not that fast anyway. She says they are trying to be civil for the children, but I don't think he can be trusted. What is your opinion and what would you do to try and convince her that she is making a big mistake. Now he has her on HIS side and she claims that DHS was illegal iin allowing me to have the children. DHS tells me things, but they say they are told something totally different. I find that hard to believe.

My 17 year old daughter wants to work at the local mall, but basically she has NO experience. We need some ideas on how to word her objective for a first time job.

Over the last 3 years or so, we get these bright orange wasps flying around our house. http://s63.photobucket.com/albums/h153/luckydog889... They aren't the usual brown/red wasps that most people get. The ones we have are somewhat larger, fatter and definitely meaner than the others and their sting is much much worse. They will chase and sting you for almost no reason at all where the others normally just mind their own business unless you bother them. We can't hardly walk outside without these things bomb diving us. I don't know where they came from or how to get rid of them. Does anybody know what kind they are (please check out the link above) and how to get rid of them. They have nest in under the eves of our house around all sides of our home.

My daughter gave birth on January 16th at 23 weeks gestation to premie twin girls. They are both still in the NICU and will probably be there until May or later. Both of them have been diagnosed with Grade 3 brain bleeds. I know that this can lead to Cerebral Palsy and other complications, but I am wondering if anyone out there has ever had a premature baby that had a Grade 3 bleed but had NO problems from it. I am just wondering and hoping for a miracle.

My basement has absolutely no heat and the basement door opens to the outside. The part of the house up over it stays extremely cold. There is no insulation on the ceiling of the basement which is only the floor joists, etc for the house above it. I am considering getting the fiberglass rolls to put inbetween the rafters since it seems to be the most afordable (I think). What thickness do I need to get for this. I don't understand the R-13, R-30, etc., or is there a cheaper, warmer route to go? Whatever I do, needs to be simple enough for ME to do it.

How long will it hold its shape and how long after it is completely firm can it STAY in the dish before removed?

They are NOT baby carrots. They are the regular long unpeeled carrots (green tops removed of corse). I have ALOT of food for thanksgiving and I have little room to store it and I'm putting things on the shelf in the pantry that WONT go bad. However, I'm not sure about Carrots. ....Will they be ok until Friday? (This is when I will be having my Thanksgiving dinner as the rest of my family will be doing theirs on Thursday and it will be way too much to do.)

Just curious. I was going to serve them mixed at thanksgiving and I wanted to know if they would have a different taste or not? Will they compliment each other? I think the two colors will stand out.

The fish question.. Deep fryer (I need an actual temperature (350 degrees etc.) not a "Med-High") and how long? ((I'm pregnant and I need to be 100% sure this is thoroughly cooked... and yes I checked, it's mercury free.))

I am making dinner tonight and my husband loves fried catfish (as do I).. but every time I make it the cornmeal falls off in the deep-fryer. How can I keep this from happening? I have a little counter-top deep frying machine (Fry-Daddy for those of you who know what this is). I am not using the version with the basket (if that's of any relevance). I use cornmeal a little salt and pepper for taste.

I usually have the deep-fryer on 350 C..

What would you suggest to do?

(These are thawed fillets not frozen)

Also, should I stir them around a little while cooking (or does it matter), or would that assist the coating to fall off?

Any advice is greatly appreciated! (I do not want to alter the taste of my recipe but if you have a recipe that is similar that works like a charm and the stuff actually STICKS then by all means post it.. ALONG with your advice lol)

Hi. My kitten is about 3 1/2 months old. (My vet wont spay her until she is 4 1/2 almost 5 (which is fine by me). But ever since I've had her (almost a month and half) she wont use the litter box. I have tried a covered litterbox (with a low entrance so it wasn't hard for her to climb in, also it doesn't have the flap so it doesn't block the entrance) but she wouldn't use it. I thought the big litter box scared her so I took the lid off and just left it open. She still used the floor. Pees and poops on anything but a litterbox. I've tried moving the litterbox to another room, using a different kind of litter, using a different litterbox in general, and even letting my sisters cat poop and pee in hers so she knows its not bad to poo and pee in a litterbox. But she doesn't do it. I have a 6 month old son who will be crawling VERY VERY soon (like within the nxt month or so.. he's so adorable when he tries to crawl) and I'm pregnant with twins (yes, my husband cleans out the litterbox - I dont) and I don't want urine and feces on the carpet/floors when he's crawling. Majik is so tiny (Majik is the kitten of corse) and I hate to put her outside because it's already really cold here and the last couple weeks it's been really wet and rainy. She cries nonstop when she's outside and it breaks my heart. I don't want to get rid of her because she wont use the litterbox.

((She DOES use the litterbox on occasion but it's like she doesn't distinguish "litterbox" from "carpet/tile/towels/clothes/bed/package of chips")) I've never spanked her and I refuse to. I think it's cruel. I've scolded her when she messes elsewhere but I give her a treat when she pottys in the box. (She loves those crunchy whiska's kitty treats) Please please PLEASE help me find a way to get her litter trained. I lost my other cat (sad story I don't wanna go into it.. i'll cry) and I don't wanna have to lose her too because she's soooooooooooo sweet (and for a teeny tiny rat who's barely 4 months old she knows her name, and she LOOOVES to snuggle and cuddle! ((I refuse to switch foods -I have determined food is not the issue- my vet said the food was fine.. Purina Kitten Chow = Best plus it's cheap and I like cheap lol)

Ok, I have 8 minutes to prepare some green beans for a meal. So, they are in the pot coming to a boil. What can I do to add a little more flavor to these FROZEN french cut green beans? I don't have time for extravagant recipes. Just a few common spices or zests will do.
