I know that cats purr when they're content or frightened, but I can't find anything that explains the purpose of purring while they're about to pounce.

I have two cats but only one of them does this. When she sees something move, like my feet under the blanket or a dangling string, she'll crouch down real low and her eyes will go super wide, then she'll start purring. I've seen her do this when she spotted a bird outside the window, too.

I work two jobs so I don't have time to prepare all my meals. Up until now, fast food has been my go-to. I'm trying to eat healthier though but I don't really know what I'm doing.

So, I was wondering, what are the healthiest:

-sandwiches

-cereals

-frozen TV dinners

-canned soups

etc.

Mostly looking for something that is either microwavable or doesn't take any heating at all.

I have a 4 year old cat who doesn't seem to learn.

I work at home on a computer and while I am working, my cat will claw at the screen door (our patio door is designed with the screen on the inside instead of the outside).

I have tried:

-Squirt bottle (Two problems: I'm too far away so the stream doesn't reach him and even when I DO spray, he'll run away at first, but then go back to doing it in a few minutes.)

-Bitter Yuck, that spray stuff is supposed to smell/taste really bad to cats (He ignores it)

-Scratching posts (He has many, and uses them, but it doesn't deter him in the least)

-Shouting 'NO' (He'll stop but go back to it in a few minutes)

-Making a point to spend time with him each night to play/pet (Hasn't done anything)

-I can't set loud noise traps because while I am working, other people are sleeping.

The only method that works the least is if I chase him, hold him down, and squirt him in the face a dozen times. This, however, only lasts the night.

I'm honestly getting frustrated. Please, if you have any suggestions, help

Candy apple-red or neon orange (think Leeloo of Fifth Element fame).

I'm a natural red-head (ranging from strawberry blond to auburn depending on the time of year) with very fair, pinkish skin. I've dyed my hair a few times before but always a natural-looking color. I want to go a bit wild this time but I can't decide which would look best: red or orange.

For the last month or so, he's taken to standing in the kitchen, staring up at the microwave, and crying. He's had a check-up recently and the vet found nothing wrong with him. We didn't change the layout of the kitchen at all, so there's nothing new up there he hasn't seen before.

Oh, and he always does it around two AM.

Any ideas why?

I ordered on April 25th, got a confirmation email and they'd said they'd email me when it shipped. It's now May 3rd and I've recieved no such letter. Went to check my order status on Deepdiscount and it said I don't have any orders in my history.

What should I do? I hear the customer service is at best rude and worst, unhelpful.

I'm trying to compile a list of all the teachers in the series. I don't own the books so it makes thumbing through them to find all the teachers difficult. So I ask, could you all list the teachers you DO remember, and I'll go from there? Better yet if you know if such a list already exists.

I want to get into shape but I've got a few problems. I live in an apartment and I can't do any jumping around. The people below me work a different shift than I do, and are asleep or their kids are asleep during my waking not-working hours. I can't afford a gym membership fee, either. And I don't have any exercise equipment.

I don't really know anything about fitness. Does anybody know what sorts of workouts to do, or where to find them?

The sound soothes me. I like the rainymood website but I need something I can listen to at work.

I've been taking it for nearly a month now. Doctor told me to try, about every week, to cut myself off and sleep naturally but I'd always have insomnia that night. I know I need to wean myself off it but how? The pills are tiny so I can't cut them in half. Do I try to replace it with OTC sleeping medication? I only have one pill left after tonight.

I got a refill on my bottle of Ambien today and tonight, took the dose out of the new bottle.

Usually I take Ambien about twenty minutes after I took it, I'll start to feel woozy, light-headed and far away from everything. Then my limbs seem to move in slow motion and I can't keep my eyes open. Then I go to bed.

I took my ambien tonight at an hour and a half ago and I've felt nothing. Not dizzy, or even tired. I know my body didn't build up a tolerance because, yesterday I felt the full effects. Now, none.

I can't sleep now and I'm afraid to take more than one.

My insurance for my job doesn't kick in for a month, shortly after which I'm going to get carpel tunnel surgery. In the meantime, I'm in agony. Last year when I'd had this bout, I was prescribed Vicodin since regular OTC didn't have any effect.

I only need something to get me through the month. To those who know natural remedies: what are really effective natural (and legal) pain-relievers?

I got dentures made a few weeks ago. The dentist took an impression but I did not have enough teeth left for her to really gauge what my teeth should look like.

Like I said, it's been three weeks. I put them in and they don't fit my gums, for one thing, the roof is too low (I can't eat anything with them in). The teeth are also generally too big for my face. I've got small features and when I have them in, it looks like I'm wearing someone else's teeth. They don't look natural in that respect. I can't talk while I wear it and the front teeth hang so low I can barely poke the tip of my tongue past them.

I asked my dentist about this and she said I'm still adjusting. Everyone else I've known who has gotten dentures didn't have all these problems (well, the no-talking thing went away after a week or so for them) and my friends and family have attested to them looking far too big for my face.

I paid $600 for these dentures and I asked my dentist about maybe getting new ones, something with smaller teeth that might fit better. (I also had my pallatal tori removed, which she did not account for) She says in order to do this, I'm going to have to pay another $600. Is this right? If she didn't get them right in the first place, why should I have to pay for a second?

I'm told to wear them as much as possible, and I'll get used to them. I do, but I have to eat and drink without them in or I don't eat or drink, so I have to take them out for these occasions at least (plus cleaning and bedtime). But when I put them back in, for about an hour they hurt. Not like sore spots, those all seem to be taken care of, but like, they don't fit me right, like they're someone else's. These are temps to wear until I get my dental implants next year. I don't want to go an entire year like this.

Anywhere I look it up, I get clashing answers. Some say it's is possessive, and some say it's is a contraction. I'm confused. It would help if anyone had any tricks to remembering the rule. Thank you!
