  • Restless Legs Syndrome?

I didn't know RLS existed until I saw the commercial about it. Ever since I was a kid I've had an issue with moving my feet and legs around when I'm laying down. I have this problem usually at night and because of it I can hardly ever get a full nights rest. I never thought it was a problem but then I read more about RLS. I do get the symptoms in the daytime too. My symptoms are:

    - constantly moving one foot back and forth because I "need to" while trying to fall asleep. ive been doing this since i was at least 4-5 years old.

    - strange tingling sensations in my legs, a feeling like i need to 'stretch' but it doesnt relieve it.

    - i sleep with a pillow between my knees which i know some people do for their back but sometimes it helps my legs feel better.

    - recently i was falling asleep while sitting, and i got a sharp tingling in my legs. it was extremely uncomfortable. it was like jolts of a tingling sensation. but that was the first and last time that 'episode' happened.

i dont have any other health conditions. im only 22. i have poor circulation so when my extremeties get too cold they hurt, but thats different from these tinglings. im also a dancer, but only in the past 6 years (not my entire life).

if someone does have RLS, do you need to take meds? i am not a fan of meds... is there any natural way to relieve these annoying symptoms? constantly throughout the night i wake up, toss and turn 5-10times and i think its because of my legs...

    thanks!

  • What is the average fee to get a tooth pulled without insurance?

It is not a wisdom tooth. It is a second molar tooth with a large cavity (I believe it had a filling before which ended up falling out). I've had excruciating tooth pain for the past few months but it's gotten worse over the past few weeks. I don't have dental insurance (the reason I've avoided the dentist) but I need to get this tooth pulled out.

What is the average fee and usually you have to pay up front correct? Also, do they have to do x-rays first and how much does that cost?

  • My kitten passed away...

The about 3-week old kitten we found on Friday died an hour ago (and we planned to take him to the vet today). He had been sneezing a bit since we found him and had an infected eye (runny, oozy, etc). He also wouldn't drink much of his kitten formula and used the bathroom (urinate) a few times. I did notice bubbles coming out of his nose once or twice when I fed him. I have had no prior experience with kittens so I guess this was because I didn't know how to feed him properly.

In his last few moments he seemed very weak and lay sprawled out on me. I saw him twitching: his ears, tail, head, everything. In between the twitches he wasn't breathing and I knew something was wrong. Then I noticed he completely stopped moving.

Now his legs are sprawled, mouth open, one eye is open. His body has cooled down as well. He urinated at the same time he passed. I am a bit heartbroken but I can only assume he was too sick to save? Do you think he might have had a URI? He had been abandoned in a schoolyard when he was found. We just decided we'd keep and care for him on Sunday instead of taking him to a shelter.

  • We found a stray kitten

We found a stray kitten. I'm not even sure how old it is but it's head isn't even as big as a tennis ball. From head to tail it's probably about as long as brick. It has an injured eye and we're not sure if we should take it to the vet (we don't plan on keeping it) or shelter.

It won't drink any water out of a tiny dish or eat any of the tuna we gave it. It's been following me around and she steps on my feet and her little claws come out, not sure what she is doing.

What should we feed her and what kind of behavior do kittens this young display? I am not familiar with cats at all.

  • Rash from bugs living in old books?

Last summer I went through a box of old books and got a rash on my hands. The rash was tiny red spots and bumps under the skin. The spots hurt, especially on my fingertips.

The other day I borrowed an old book from the library and got the same rash, but now I have a similar rash on my feet. I'm not sure if they are related. A friend told me there are very tiny insects living in old books, is this true?

I've been using Hydrocortisone cream and its been helping with the itching, but the rashes keep coming back, especially on my feet. Is it possible these insects got into my bedding?

  • Airedale Terriers?

Does anyone have this breed of dog as a pet (or has had experience with them)? What are their common traits, how do they behave, etc.?

I am interested in getting a dog soon, and I'm doing research to find out what breed is best for me. Also, I live in NYC in an apt. but I'm close to lots of parks, etc. I know terriers like to dig, but would this breed be fine in an apt?

  • RES Mating Dance?

My male RES has been doing his mating dance again to the female. He did this all last summer as well. The female seems to be pretty annoyed and chases or pushes him away. Do I separate them, or let them be? They are usually very fond of each other but I don't want her to be stressed. She's not old enough to mate yet.

  • Insect Bites/Stings.?

Well summer is approaching, and I am allergic to almost all insect bites/stings (wasps, ants, mosquitoes, other bugs). Whenever I get stung by a mosquito the entire area swells up; if its my arm that entire half of my arm will become swollen. What can I do to relieve the swelling and itching? Its so gross especially when I'm out at a BBQ or the beach. The same thing happens to my sister.

  • Anyone willing to teach some Hindi via the Internet?

Is there anyone willing to teach me Hindi via the internet? I am very fluent in English (my first language) and willing to teach/explain that as an exchange.

My grandparents knew Hindi (my mom knows very little), but I grew up only speaking English. I know a LOT of single Hindi words. I can read/write the script, very good with pronounciation, but I can't form complete sentences or translate! Thanks!
