  • Is online piracy a victim-less crime?

I used to be against piracy but my friend convinced me that it's not bad as such since it's a victim less crime.

His analogy was that if you steal an apple, the grocer no longer has an apple to sell and so has made a loss but if you pirate an album, the artist hasn't "lost an album" so it makes no difference to them.

They only make a loss if you would've bought the album were piracy not an option but personally at least, I wouldn't of, I'd of listened on youtube with an adblocker on.

Is this argument legitimate or have I missed something?

  • i5 8600K vs Ryzen 1600X?

I m thinking of getting a new CPU in a couple weeks, as far as I can tell the i5 is both cheaper and better for gaming but the ryzen is better for all round stuff because of hyper threading support.

Of course, this is all based on the i5s reviewers got in advance so they might ve tweeked it to be even better but I doubt the difference would be tooooo big if anything.

The main reason I m split is because AMD seems keen on supporting its AM4 socket for a while but intel I m not so sure on.

I currently have a processor that s on the LGA-1155 socket so I d have to change motherboards regardless so the whole "keep to what you ve got" thing doesn t apply to me.

  • When are you meant to take photos with/of people/yourself?

I honestly have no idea, I'm scared it'll be awkward, and even more scared it'll be even more awkward if I ask to take one.

  • Is there a way to find people using a full name and a photo?

I messed up incredibly badly 3 years ago with a (now) former friend. Today I found a picture of them on an old sd card and broke down crying. I m desperate to apologise but I couldn t find them no matter how hard I tried.

  • Is there a way to call foreign numbers for free?

I was thinking of applying to a few foreign universities alongside those in the UK but for the most part they ve got websites that are either uninformative or impossible to navigate so I m forced to call them up to get all the info, problem is it ll cost a fortune by conventional methods.

  • Where did ISIS actually come from?

As far as I can tell they just kind of showed up at one point and started shooting everyone and committing war crimes and such. When'd they start up? Why are they doing what they're doing? Do they really think a couple thousand people can win against 7 billion? How can they see a guy get decapitated and want to join in? I don't get it, it makes no sense to me at all.

  • Could multiple machines in a network be used to render a video game?

I was thinking of the concept of multi machine rendering and whether it could be applied to a scenario where there are a bunch of computers in a network of varying hardware which could render the game together. The result I'd hope for is that people could then play the game together and get the exact same performance. I was thinking that perhaps an additional computer or array of computers could act as a sort of dedicated server in a sense to 'stream' back the fully rendered and complete game for each of the player to then play, with it automatically balancing the load on each system to be as fair as possible. The reason I'm asking is because I thought of a concept where you could have a very large open world video game where every single player alongside many dev owned computers would contribute to the rendering of every single person, allowing for the average performance to increase drastically, far more people being able to play with their hardware and possibly raising the bar on how large, complex and aesthetically pleasing video games in general are able to be.

  • Can I install Windows 7 64 bit to an external hard drive from a 32 bit Windows 7 computer that doesn't support 64 bit?

I need to install a 64 bit version of windows to an external drive. The only possible problem is that the computer I'm using to do so runs Win7 32 bit and is incompatible with 64 bit. Am I still able to install?

  • Bloodthirst? Should I see a GP?

Okay, so yesterday I cut my finger and rather then just cleaning it I sucked the blood out of the wound until no more came out. I have obviously had blood in my mouth before but never intentionally and it actually tasted really nice for me but it's a one off. I'm not going to start cutting myself or anyone else but I'm really worried since all day my mouth has been watering whenever I see my own or other people's blood vessels through their skin.

  • Would your mental clock be messed up if you went fast enough?

If, hypothetically, you went so fast that the earth's rotation couldn't keep up and you kind of lapped the sun twice. Would you get messed in the head?

  • Why do people believe in Scientology?

    1. Human beings are not "immortal". How can one even suggest such a thing as by that logic where are all the new people coming from? Are they suggesting that someone can be multiple beings at once? But that means that no one is unique, rather than causing freedom it takes it away.

2.There is absolutely no evidence to even suggest that any kind of life or "experience" occurs after one has died.

    3. There is no such thing as a "spirit" of anything, no evidence, not even a suggestion of it's effects.

    4. There is no need for Scientology's beliefs as they have no evidence and completely disregard many well known scientific facts.

    5. It was formed less than a century ago. Members of religions can argue that such concepts as evolution and the big bang were incomprehensible to people at the times of their founding but when this cult was formed they were well established, accepted, plausible ideas with evidence.

6.Anything that makes giving money a forced necessity is in no way promoting freedom

    7. Name one well educated and respected person that believes in Scientology.

    8. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Operation_Snow_White - it's criminal

    9. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Operation_Freakout - it's criminal

    10. Members of the cult openly harass those opposed to it.

    11. It is has come under serous criticism from governments world wide.

    12. It's called Scientology despite having absolutely nothing to do with science.

  • why do people play candy crush saga?

It requires less strategy and tactics than pacman and practically erodes peoples souls. It's a pile of simplistic rubbish designed to make money having spent hardly anything on development. There are no rewards or achievements that mean something. Most people who play better games don't play candy crush. I just don't find it interesting, it's repetitive and requires hardly any skill.

  • Why does Israel exist?

Asking this again since everyone decided that I'm a Muslim (I'm not religious) and Jordanian (I'm British) then proceeded to either argue my points but not answer the question or ignore my description.

  • Why does Argentina think they should have the Falklands?

Spain originally colonized the Falklands but the colony collapsed and was taken by the British.

Argentinians have never owned the Falklands.

All the people in the Falklands are of British descent and want to stay British.

In terms of geography, Denmark technically owns Greenland but that doesn't mean Canada or the US should have it.

The Falklands don't have to give the UK anything and have their own government (like Guernsey which isn't claimed by France).

At no point did Spain cede or give or will away any territories, it was all hostile revolts and revolutions.

The whole reason they invaded in the first place was to take public attention away from their failing economy.

The Falklands would be worse off under Argentina.

The UN backed the UK in the Falklands war.

The Argentinians INVADED and the British sent troops to repel the INVADERS.

No one except Argentina care that Britain have the Falklands.

Argentina taking the Falklands is just as colonial and imperialistic, if their that concerned about it being part of our "empire" they would want it to be an independent, sovereign state.

  • Is this not victimisation?

Today I hadn't done half my homework when I usually do all of it yet got ranted at more than people who did none at all including one person who hasn't done any homework all year and people in the same situation at me didn't even get a strong word. Later on she started raging at me for paraphrasing despite the rest of the class doing so as well. I also got a detention for the homework when another person just got told to do it for tomorrow.
