Is it true that 165,000 Wall Street employees. . .?

1 AnswerOther - Business & Finance1 decade agoRedistribution of wealth- when did Obama say that?
Obama was quoted as saying that he wanted to "spread the wealth around" to give everyone the chance to achieve what Joe had.
The only way that Obama has ever said he would shift money is through rolling back Bush tax cuts to the wealthy (which is a few percentage points) and by cutting everyone else's taxes. The people here make it sound like he is going take all the money from the rich people and give it to the poor people. Why does anyone think this? Please point to something that he has said that would indicate to you that he is so extreme.

15 AnswersElections1 decade agoThe Democrats rift?
From the faithful of the Democratic party:
They may be a prejudiced lot in Appalachia, but working through that on a weekly basis with the Creator goes a whole lot further in my book than a post-Christian theology which privileges the environment and animal welfare above personal responsibility and family values.

Trashball campaigns are as old as the Republic and therefore we should sit back and enjoy them?
A. Presidential campaigns turn on character more than substance.
--or--
B. Substance is often used by the public as an insight into character.
3 AnswersElections1 decade agoDo you agree with this about the Republic Party?
The fact that the least conservative, least divisive Republican in the 2008 race is the last one standing—despite being despised by significant voices on the right—shows how little life is left in the movement that Goldwater began, Nixon brought into power, Ronald Reagan gave mass appeal, Newt Gingrich radicalized, Tom DeLay criminalized, and Bush allowed to break into pieces.
16 AnswersElections1 decade agoWhat are Megan McCain's politics?
She says on McCain Blogette that one of her favorite blogs is greenmountainpolitics and they say:
Well, this is what happens when you elect an inexperienced good old boy from Texas to sit in the Oval Office.
Noted: "Inexperienced" being the key word.
Honestly, we don't have the first clue what our Iran policy should be. We leave that to the real global strategists.
But what we are sure of, without a doubt, is that we don't want the Cowboy Governor kicking in the door of a third country exactly 14 minutes before he exits the world stage forever. We mean honestly, for the love of everything holy.
On the other hand...
Does anyone else think that maybe, just maybe, this Jerusalem Post article (front paged on Drudge) is an attempt by the Bush White House to keep the Iran political debate between Obama and McCain here cooking? And nothing more?
9 AnswersElections1 decade agoThe government can just erase campaign debt?
That comes as no surprise. Clinton has vendors to pay as well. Hard-working Americans all over the campaign trail who provided venues, catering, etc.
In perhaps the most famous case of outstanding campaign debt, former Ohio Sen. John Glenn remained nearly $3 million in the hole for more than 20 years after a failed bid for the presidency in 1984. (The Federal Election Commission granted him a reprieve two years ago.)
