Can someone please help me with these questions? :) my exam board is wjec by the way.

1) The curve C has equation y=x^2+(4k+3)x+7

And the line L has equation y=x+k Where k is a constant

(x being the letter not multiplication sign)

Given that L and C intersect at two distinct points... A) show that 4k^2+5k-6>0 B) find the range of values of k satisfying the inequality

Hi. Earlier on I took a quick shower in which I avoided getting my head under the water because I still had my contact lenses in (monthlies). But now I'm sooo scared because I'm not sure if some water splashed in my eyes and I've heard that this can result in amoeba getting stuck between the lense and eye surface, then it burrows into the eye and can cause infection/blindness!

I didn't take the lenses out for 4 hours after my quick shower. So, if a spray of water did get in my eyes am I at great risk?

Would amoeba be able to burrow after just 4 hours? Advice please!! Thanks x

Yesterday I baked a cake and admittedly, it didn't look too good, but stupidly I still ate it. About 4 hours later I felt verrrrryyy ill, like I was going to be sick and I just had to lie down. Today I feel a bit better but still not 100% great. Earlier on (sorry if this next bit is unpleasant) I felt like I really needed a number two, so I went and it looked kinda...greenish? :/ (again, I agoligise). I took a gaviscon and my belly has settled a little bit now but still feels a little icky. Tomorrow night, I am spending the evening over someone else's house and spending the entire night there. The last thing I want is to get the sh*ts there or remain feeling ill enough for the urge to go for a number two is overwhelming :/

Do you think if I was gonna get the sh*ts or anything like it I'd have already got it by now? It may not even be from the cake I ate, it could just be a coincidence that I felt ill not long afterwards...I don't know. Your opinions/answers will be much appreciated.

4. a) find the range of values of K for which quadratic equation 3x^2 + 2x -K= 0 has distinct real roots

b) solve inequality x^3 - 5x -14 less than or equal to 0

5. a) given that y=3x^2 - 4x + 7, find dy/dx from first principles

b) differentiate 5√x - 3/x^3 with respect to x

6. Factorize 6x^3 + 5x^2 -3x -2

Hi guys! The last time I was in my English class I started feeling really sick and due to suffering from anxiety and panic attacks I instantly went into panic mode. Honestly kt was really horrible. I was really warm, but shivery, I felt like I was either gonna be sick or bring everything up some other way if you get me haha. I tried my breathing exercises and drank water but I couldn't relax very well.

I decided to ask if I could go home ill but now I have a slight problem. Everytime I think of going to English I go straight back into panic mode. This has led me to have missed 3 lessons since the first episode and that's ridiculous!! :/

What should I do? & if all fails and I do have another episode in class what in-the-moment tips have you got?

Hello, I'm making a journey from Folkstone to then cross the Seven Bridge on a Monday sometime soon and was curious of roughly how long this car journey should take? I don't plan on making any stops and I start the journey at about 2:00pm if that helps when it comes to considering any typical traffic. I understand that there will be slightly different routes but I'm going to use the sat nav too which will hopefully take me down the quickest one :) so just a knowledge based estimate will be very much appreciated! Hiya, I was just wondering, when you go to the doctor and describe certain symptoms to them..what is it that normally has to be said to make the doc think 'right, better take a blood test' ?

Because I had a doc appointment today and described something to them and they said what it seemed to be with no fuss, yet other times I've been told to have a blood test..

I have two questions about booking appointments at the doctors.

Can I just ring to book a blood test appointment without having had a face-to-face appointment with a doctor before hand?

Also, do I have to go through any particular process if I have been visiting the same doctors surgery all my life but wish to just book a one off appointment with a different surgery? (It's nearer haha)

Hiya! I'll be honest, I really don't think I've done well in my gcses this year, but to put my mind at rest to I can just enjoy the summer without worrying about my results (well, if the sun comes out and gives us a summer haha), can you help me with the following...

Assuming I get all Ds in these exams, if I provide the results of my controlled assessments can you tell me a rough average grade estimate of the overall grade?:

CAs results:-

History: C & B (the C was from my exam last year but will be including in the calculation of my overall grade, I took two history exams this year, assume they're both Ds)

English Literature: A

English Language: B

Art: A* (60% of final mark)

Science: C (25% of final mark, took three science exams this year, assume they're all Ds)

French: A, A, A & B

ICT: C & A

Welsh: A (5%), A (5%), B (20%)

I Know it's confusing but if you can help work out the averages that would be great!:D thanks x

With that skirt do you think a plain deep scarlett-red top with long sleeves tucked in to the skirt and a pair of brown heels (not shiny once, they look like a material surfaced shoe with laces, fur around the ankle and a lace to tighten the shoe - sounds odd but they are a nice pair of shoes, trust me) would look nice?

If not, any other suggestions? (I have no black heels by the way, just flats)

Also, If this skirt doesn't come in time, any other party outfit ideas (that don't include black shorts or any other skirt as I have no other skirts)

I plan to go and speak to my teacher in the next few days about pulling out but I'm a little concerned about whether I'll get that money back...will it have been sent off for the travel arrangments? Hello, bit of a random question out of curiosity. But here we go, when I was typing on a Word Document I'd wrote a fair bit then decided to look back on what I'd already wrote, when I did so I noticed that where I'd typed a normal key to spell out the word 'to' the 't' in the word was a '†' symbol instead. Why is this? I don't have that symbol on my keyboard and all I did was press the 't' key. I even tried to rewrite the word and this time it was normal, so it just appeared randomly that one time. Why?

Would this be right?:

As group one elements go down the group they get more reactive. This is because the elements towards the bottom of the group have more atoms and therefore more shells, having more shells means tat there are going to be some atoms that are fairly far from the nucleus and although the nucleus is going to try and hold them in there are not as stable, making the element as a whole quite unstable. This then makes that element more reactive.

My 4 and a half year old guinea pig was having cuddles from my family about 10mins ago until one of them dropped him. This person held my gp out infront of him at about 3ft, then my gp started doing that wierd wriggle thing they do when the look like they're gonna twirl their bottom a full rotation, he was really fidgeting so my family member tried to put him down but he tried to jump, he looked like he was struggling so much it was frightening then at 1ft he jumped. It's mainly the fidgeting fall that's scared me!

He seems fine now, eating, energetic, walking fine, But you can never tell!!
