2 AnswersHair6 years agoAtheists: would you be offended if one of your friends or acquaintances tried to minister to you?
Without getting into a creation debate, what if a Christian friend was seriously concerned about their belief of salvation and your soul? Hopefully to u guys religious ideas are left as just ideas and shouldn't depend on who's promoting them, (that would be bias) but (I don't mean to stereotype) I see a lot of mean atheists out here at yahoo answers. Man, you guys don't hold back with the "ignorant" and "idiotic" accusations to theist questions. Although I do admit some are pretty stupid (and I might get shiit in the comments for any "logical errors" on this one). Would you be as blunt and bold to a friend? Would their position at all, influence consideration? (Honestly) And let me make it clear when I say offended, I mean will you get defensive as soon as the word "God" is brought up, or will you seriously listen? I don't need smartasss comments, cause if I get them I see the answer is "no we won't take anything having to do with God seriously because it's a fairy tale, it's Not observable and I'll jump to analogies having to do with unicorns and the smurfs and relate it to what I think your IQ is" also no focusing on the fact that I cussed, cause I say whatever the s ex I want. It's something I struggle with and just focus on the question. I'm asking a real question and expecting real answers. As you might have concluded, asking for a friend. Also if there's anyone from a religion many consider a cult I would appreciate your feedback.

8 AnswersReligion & Spirituality6 years agoAtheists: what do you think of spirit science?
Spirit science is very undefined, very unique. It is full of nihilism, yet questions everything, being very open minded to the ideas and views of the world and how it all is inter related. It does not however, establish doctrine and call any view or idea wrong provided it is the source of happiness to the people. This behavior reminded me a lot of atheists and agnostics that I know, open minded, hate stereotypes, no labels, use many scientific and historical facts to support opinion, very welcoming, very curious, and full of unexplained wonder. So what I'm getting at is that I see many atheists (more than theists) answer and ask questions of this category of religion and spirituality here at yahoo answers. And (no stereotype) most of these usually have negative thoughts toward religion and see it as a superstition that brings no real good but instead brings forth disputes, war, ignorance, and pride. What about this specific "religion"? Do any of you atheists or agnostics believe this kind of spirituality can be beneficial to mankind? Is it possible to be logical and pious? Can you necessarily reject spirituality as an answer to existence due to no physical proof, with the fact (to assume Big Bang actually happened) that in the Big Bang there was an exception to every thermodynamic law? Could spirituality, whether from spirit science or a specific religion help us understand facts? What about sacred geometry? Could this all be more than just five senses?

7 AnswersReligion & Spirituality6 years agoFellow believers, why are you celebrating?
I understand nonbelievers and gays can rejoice in same sex marriage being legalized. Why believers tho? I admit it is politically correct, just not biblically. And ultimately we should look at God's kingdom before the U.S. why change your profile pic to a rainbow why hashtag "love wins" didn't you know that 2,000 years ago when our Lord gave his own life for us is when love truly won? What about when pot gets legalized? Are u gonna change your pics to faded marijuana leaves (faded lol), are you gonna hashtag "#peacewonbruh"? Are you gonna say "don't judge them everyone sins, God created pot and the stoners it must be ok"? Are you really going to try and justify every lifestyle that is socially acceptable? We can say "pot legalization will improve the economy and prevent many people from going to jail" and "same sex marriage is giving the same health care laws to couples regardless of gender, equality within the law". But can we really say love won? Read Romans 12:2. How come reciting God's word judging now? Why is spreading the good news homophobic? Why is trying to lead someone to christ now just plain wrong? I believe if you are risking friendships and reputations because you care that much about your neighbor's eternity, that's love, that's love winning. I understand many will answer "well u sin too" but does that justify homosexuality? No, only christ can justify someone. And if we can't even do something as simple as to acknowledge our own sins why believe we need savior
9 AnswersReligion & Spirituality6 years agoLow or high blood sugar?
I'm in this summer program and lately my diet has been bad because I just found out I have an allergy to soy. I have skipped many meals because of there being soy or uncertainties from the cafeteria people. I filled up on snacks like chips. Today I was confused, was very anxious had heart palpitations, a shaky feeling, dry mouth, and constant urinating. I went to the nurse and I was cured for a while, but it's happening again. I ate a square meal but I still feel like This is not the end of whatever this is. Low blood sugar has all these symptoms, except dry mouth and constant urinating, which are high blood sugar symptoms. I am drinking coke and idk if this is the last time I will feel like this. They can't measure my glucose levels because I have no prescriptions and they have no equipment. Is it high or low? Could it be diabetes? Am I gonna be ok? (My vitals are all fine) is anxiety getting too much in my head? Thanks

Basic question, I wanna see historians answering with evidence. Can pope succession be trustworthy? And are saints like Ignatius of Antioch historical? Is the first Christian church a church of itself, or was it just given a name later?

1 AnswerMusic & Music Players6 years agoWhy can't we be friends?
Atheists, theists, do not put them in a room together. Many of you are already picturing why. Especially on the internet, we never see a theist and an atheist holding a friendly conversation after the word "God" is brought up. I understand that we as Christians want everyone to believe in the truth, and so we try and persuade atheists. They then get into an argument involving science (never the law of biogenesis of course) and ask for proof. Christians then ask for evidence of absence and it loops around like that going nowhere. That's how it should start, with someone trying to convert someone else, and it turning into an argument. But now it's more than that, some atheists start questions on this very category already looking for sh*t. And Christians ask questions like "atheists: why do u need proof bruh?" Knowing very well what argument will develop. I'm sure half the atheists that blow me up with all the different answers will have something identifying their "nonbelief" as a username. Why take it so far and just look for an argument? That question goes to both theists and atheists. And atheists, why let something "fictional" be the reason to judge on whether someone has common sense or not? Why let it become something that gets in the way of fellowship? Why let it become real? Why let it become something you identify your username with? I can see that Christians prioritize their religion, but u don't see my username being "the non black guy". That actually sounds cool. ^
14 AnswersReligion & Spirituality6 years agoAtheists: why is it not enough to not believe in a God, but bash on him?
Atheists seem to bash on just the Christian God. I do not see any bashing a of Hindu gods, Egyptian gods, Aztec gods, or Greek gods. In fact, most of my atheist friends are the ones that are into fictional stuff like Pokemon, Magic the gathering, creepy pasta, and lord of the rings etc. but don't dare bring up "fictional" God or they get all defensive. Why enjoy diabolical myths (the creepypasta don't get me wrong I love Pokemon), but shun any idea of an all loving deity? *patrick star voice*: I don't get it.
22 AnswersReligion & Spirituality6 years agoWhat's the more consistent form/denomination of Protestantism?
Since the Protestant reformation, many church schisms occurred from the Catholic Church throughout the world. Many Protestant leaders disagreed greatly with each other and many churches, instead of one church were formed. Today, Lutherans, Presbyterians, and church of Christ members are being criticized by many other Protestant churches like nondenominationalism, because those churches are becoming more tolerant and changing their ways. Interestingly enough, nondenominationals and churches that were formed in recent times (some around 1960s), were formed based on most of the doctrines established by the earlier churches, and now they criticize them. Why revolt from a church and then revolt from the ones that were newly developed? Why establish doctrine and then change it? Why shun some chruches' ideas When your church was based on the same ideas? What is even consistent on these churches anymore? Ps Ima catholic
6 AnswersReligion & Spirituality6 years agoAre we all called saints?
Protestants often use this when trying to neglect saints being just those in heaven, and deny their intervention. They usually justify this idea that all Christians that are living are saints based on the fact that when Paul writes letters in the New Testament, he often refers those letters as to "the saints of_____". They also believe in once saved always saved (which I have done research about and totally disagree with). I believe, by dictionary definition, that a saint is a person in heaven, but my Protestant friends argue that is not so in a biblical definition. In the gospel we hear John the baptist to be the greatest on earth, yet the least in the kingdom of God is greater than he, and also the bible says we will be greater than Angels once in heaven, and since Angels and Demons can intervene, I figured so can ones above them. So is there biblical proof that saints are just those in heaven, and how can we be sure they have the power to pray for us? Are they still part of the church once dead? Thanks a lot guys God bless.

1 AnswerDallas6 years agoIs being transracial a sin?
It's official. Transracial is s thing now. Funny because I once worked with someone who was a hardcore liberalist and transgender, and brought up the idea of someone identifying themselves of a different nationality or race than that of which they were born into. She (he) said that would be racist. That was only almost a year ago. Surely for extreme liberals to do often change what they believe is right or wrong (because she believes it is okay now since they wanna pretend to be someone else to be happy), and according to the pro choice feminist liberal I worked with in her terms was "wrong" back then. Clearly not only are those who disregard a reality that we're born into ( like schizophrenics, transgendered people, and transracials) being a little disordered and mentally ill, but so is society. They have taken people pleasing too far, and according to a liberal point "racist" about a year ago. Is it a sin to deny and call yourself created wrongly even if it's as ridiculous as nationality or ethnicity? That's the question for the ChristIan's out ther. Should I be black because watermelon is my favorite fruit, I learned how to swim at age 14, I only like chicken fried, and my favorite sport is basketball? That's the questions to answer for anyone that has a problem with me disagreeing with this issue.

9 AnswersReligion & Spirituality6 years agoAtheists: have you ever been open to the idea of a God? If not, what is the purpose we have here on earth in your perspective?
Before yall blow me up with tens of answers showing negativity towards God and memes mocking Christians let's be real. No debate and no pointing fingers on who's hating who. I just truly wanna know what it's like believing that there's nothing after death and once this planet is destroyed there will be no more remembrance of the human life, that it will die off with the planet and be lost in space and darkness. That everything we have thought of, loved, and will do for the rest of our lives really was worth nothing and was in vain in a scale of a time that surpasses the remaining time earth will be suitable for life. That one day love, God, pizza, and yahoo answers will be lost ideas that might of as well never happened. What is the purpose of life with no eternity, why even have philosophy if eternal life is not real? Also how can you believe our actions mean nothing in the end, yet you believe we came from nothingness?
18 AnswersReligion & Spirituality6 years agoWhy does baptism need water?
As a confirmed catholic I fully believe baptism is a sacrament necessary for salvation, but why does it need water? I do not deny the power nor call it impossible for God to use physical substances to draw us closer to him but is water necessary and why? When Jesus was baptized the heavens opened up and the Holy Spirit descended, and I truly believe this same concept is what happens today when Christians get baptized. Yet i looked up this question and it said in extraordinary cases God will understand lack of water, for he has plans and it could be a baptism of desire. Yet that does not answer my question, if God can really grant someone a baptism of desire, why does not everyone do that instead, what is the point of the action? Either way it is obviously desired. Also why are infants baptized if I cannot even recall my baptism, yet supposedly the Holy Spirit entered me and removed my original sin, where is my accepting of that if I had no decision making capabilities?
6 AnswersReligion & Spirituality6 years agoIs the Eucharist biblical?
Ima youth in the Roman Catholic Church, got confirmed last year, and lately I have had many challenges in my faith. The only friends I go to church with are Protestant, and I go to their church and youth groups as much as I attend mass. In those times of I've been questioned about mortal sin, purgatory, Saints, and many more Catholic doctrines. With my own knowledge I can most of the times turn the debate into proving church doctrine, and get a few agreements from friends of different churches. But I usually also have many talks with the pastor, as he is my friend's dad, and lately transubstantiation has been brought up. The usual "catholics sacrifice Jesus at the end of every service over and over", and "was christ's first bloodshed insufficient for forgiveness? Why need a weekly sacrifice?" I responded with when Jesus said unless you eat my flesh drink my blood you do not have life in you, was in a literal sense more than symbolical, and many followers were lost there because they considered that cannibalism, and if in truth Jesus meant for his flesh to be symbolical he would have mentioned it and like a good teacher clarified the misunderstanding. But a jab back of "he did say these words are of spirit, you all overlook the eternal things with things of this world ( thinking of flesh when meaning spirit)" but since his message was complex they left him. he made analogies of the everlasting water so is the Eucharist necessary? I am not taking it now cause Im questioning it
