  • How ridiculous - not letting dog sniff. What would you do?

I have just come back from walking my 2 dogs with some other dog walkers. One of their dogs approached another dog (not in our group) and not surprisingly sniffed the new dog. The owner of that dog asked her to stop the dog from sniffing, as he did not want his dog to be sniffed!!!! Makes you wonder why some people have dogs.

The rest of us were tempted to send our dogs over for a real sniff fest!

What would you do if someone asked you to stop your dog from sniffing another dog?

  • Dogs hate being separated from each other - help appreciated?

Whenever they are apart from each other they whine / howl / yelp and appear to be really distressed. One has just been neutered a couple of weeks ago and the other will be done soon too - saying that they have pretty much always been like that. We are keen to take them out individually at times - mainly when training them, but we definitely can't leave one behind - even if my hubby / I stay behind with one, the behaviour is still present, and almost impossible to distract them. Help !!

  • How to stop barking at other dogs?

My 1yr old cavalier has recently started barking at all dogs bigger than him, which is obviously quite a few. I also have an 8mth old who is not bothered by other dogs at all.

Why would the 1 yr old do this, and what can I do to reduce it happening?

  • Coeliac Disease - potentail diagnosis?

I am due to have a blood test to determine if I have coeliac disease. I understand it is genetic - yet no-one in my family has it, or has had it - is it usual for 1 person to develop it and others in a family not to. The likelihood was picked up via a routine blood test.

  • How soon can dogs go to eating once a day?

I have 2 dogs - one a yr old, the other 8 months - I know we can do once a day with the older one, but was wondering if we could do the same with the younger one - it seems to be they are not wanting one of their meals anyway, but happily eat later in the day. Any thoughts welcome

  • How to get my dog back to eating properly?

I have 2 dogs - one is 1yr, the other is 7mths. In the last few weeks the older one has stopped eating properly. The food is the same as it has been. We can't leave it down for any length of time as the younger one would eat it. It is mainly a problem at breakfast - we have tried adding in a bit of wet to the dry, chicken etc, but he is just not interested. He will eat it fine from a kong / treat ball if he hasn't realised that is what it is. We don't give treats during the day now either. He is fine in every other way - seems like stubborness, but how do we deal with it?

  • Black Tie Event - what is acceptable?

I have been invited to a military regimental dinner where the dress code is black tie - what is acceptable for ladies to wear - I have been advised to wear long length which is fine, but not sure what style beyond that - any suggestions welcome, especially in UK. Thank you

  • How do I train my dog to only bark on command, and be quiet when I say so?

I have a 10 mth old CKCS - he hardly ever barks if we are around, but one of our neighbours has mentioned he barks a lot when we are not in. Obviously we have apologised, but we do really want to sort it out, as we are sympathetic to our neighbours who are mainly elderly and at home most of the time

  • Over use of leg cocking?

I have a 9mth old cavalier, and a 5 month old one. Both males. The eldest one has recently started cocking his leg (all grown up---lol). However when we go for walks he stops at every corner and lamp post to lift his leg - it just seems excessive. Any reasons for this? It is not a UTI. He als keeps trying to dominate the little one - by trying to hump him. We have had the little one for 3 mths now.

  • Jelly type poo, concerning?

Our 15 week old puppy has been on medication and bland wet food for about a week and half as treating Giardia. One day his poo seems to be getting more formed and normal and then the next it's a bit too soft. However his 2nd poo today was like a jelly mocousy substance. Can anyone advice us what this might mean?
