Stay away from spicy, Mexican food, they tend to upset the stomach. Also, dairy products can ruin the night for you. I would recommend Italian. Pasta is a great idea, a disaster proof night would be pizza. You can up the ante by cooking the pizza from scratch yourself.

Make sure that she is as excited about you cooking for her at her place as you are. And, remember to tidy up when you're finished unless she has other ideas about that! ;)

Keep your meal simple, fresh, and tasty! Here's a menu that you might enjoy:

    Roasted lemon-herb chicken breasts

Baby red or fingerling potatoes with rosemary garlic butter

Fresh asparagus with lemon butter sauce

Chocolate lava cakes with vanilla bean ice cream

Keep skin on chicken breasts, but separate it from the meat. Mix together:

    3 T softened butter

    1/2 tsp garlic powder

    1 tsp kosher salt

    1/4 tsp fresh ground pepper

    1 T lemon juice

    1 tsp thyme

Mix together and add 3 T cream cheese. Divide between breasts and place under the skin. Spread to cover the meat and pat skin down. Rub olive oil on skin and sprinkle with salt and pepper. Place in baking dish. Add a little white wine or water, cover and bake for 30 minutes at 350. Remove cover and baste with pan juices. Bake an additional 20 to 30 minutes until skin is golden and crisp. Let sit for 5 minutes before cutting.

Sprinkle potatoes with olive oil. Sprinkle with koshers salt, fresh ground pepper and two T chopped rosemary leaves. Place in baking pan and bake along side chicken until fork tender. When done, toss potatoes with 2 T sour cream (opt). Season to taste.

For asparagus, trim ends of stalks. In sauté pan, melt 2 T butter and add asparagus. Cook on medium high, tossing frequently. When asparagus is tender crisp, remove from pan and drizzle with lemon juice and butter. Serve immediately.

You can obtain a fairly good chocolate lava cake mix from most grocery stores. Unless you love to bake from scratch, this is the best way to go. Another alternative would be to stop by your local gourmet cupcake store and pick up a couple of your favorites.

And, you can always order pizza! :)

This is so cute ok ummm..... Since I'm a girl I would probably want a guy to make something good and simple that a lot of people like. I would probably want baked chicken breast with mashed potatoes and some kind of vegetable on the side. It's always cute when you have a dessert to. Or you can always make pasta like Nora said

If you know how to grill: chicken breast: sprinkle with salt and pepper, olive oil, garlic powder or fresh, lemon juice. Grill it on the BBQ for about 8 minutes on each side. Slice it diagonal and lay it on top of a nice green salad and enjoy! Girls love salad! Not over filling, just right. Easy to eat!

Do you have a grill? If so, grill something outside. I would recommend using McCormick Grill Mates Zesty Herb Marinade (dry packet) and then grill the chicken. (You could bake it inside, too.) Add a baked potato or a flavored rice packet and salad and you have a simple light dinner!

Here is a link so you can see what the marinade looks like:

Aww! That's so cute of you! I'm a girl, and I would want something that's simple but elegant ( and easy for you to make). Honestly, my favorite meal is chicken and pasta with pesto sauce, salad, and facoccia bread with oil and balsamic vinegar. You could play "restaurant" and serve the bread and salad first, and then have the main meal! Then a cake for dessert! Here are my favorite recipes for these, trust me, she'll love this meal, and it is SUPER easy (and not that pricey) to make! The dinner rolls/ facoccia bread, you can just buy at your local bakery :)

    Pesto Pasta with Chicken:

**I wouldn't put in the chili peppers, since they sort of make you smell bad after.

**I use romaine lettuce instead of spinach.
