I have a friend whose dad is a retired veteran on home hospice care and disability. They have a visiting nurse and the daughter quit her job to stay home and take care of the basic needs of the dad and home ie cleaning, cooking, chores, errands, and helping him get around the house when he needs to walk around.

She doesn't qualify for unemployment because she left her previous job. If she gets money from the VA they will in turn cut some of her dad's pay.

She wants to be able to receive a check much in the same way an unemployed person receives one. This job of taking care of her dad is extremely necessary and can be done by her.

Another thing to mention is that she is pregnant and will have a hard time finding a job in that condition anyways.

The agency aid for dependent families, Medicaid, and Medicare have all pointed her in wrong directions or told her she can only have money that pertains to her pregnancy.

She is not married at the moment because the guidelines are even worse if she was married. There would even be less money to help take care of her dad and she wants to spend his last days with him.

Her fiancé makes $12 per hour. They get some food stamps. They really don't have money left for anything else.

She needs money for her personal needs. Can anyone point us in the right direction?

I got around to filling out the form. I get a refund! What is the correct address? I found the answer if I was filing in 2011 but this is 2012 already!

I noticed that I can like FB pages and it will go in the likes of my Facebook personal page. I have added a fan page and noticed I can favorite other pages. Is that the equivalent of liking one? If I favorite pages as page favorites is the the column on the left on the fan page that just says likes?

We have a very active russian blue type kitty about 6 months old who runs all over the place all the time. She currently takes pleasure in doing naughty things so we will chase her to stop them. We have to play with her vigorously for an hour to get her to sleep at night.

We feed her Friskies dry cat food and once in a while a very little table scrap. We hold off on the catnip because it really excites her even more! She is not fixed and at the moment is the most affectionate when she is in heat. She actually slows down to get scratched.

Do you have any ideas? And if you have a cat other than a Bengal how did you train it to use the wheel and where did you get it?

About once a week when I open my Yahoo mail from a well known source it reads differently almost as if it is hijacked by someone else. This has happened with mail from at least 4 different sources. I would open the mail from my in box and it would read like a spam mail or from one of those Nigerian scammers. It would read as if it was from a whole different sender. Help guidelines say to copy headers and send them to the abuse center but when I go to open the headers I get a message saying that something is temporally wrong with that particular email. If I open the mail two or three more times it reverts to the original intended mail.

When I look at the help menus I don't see a provision for this. My computer shows clean with my AVG. So far this problem has happened once in a while from my friend's email. I know his mail is clean. It happened once from an ad from Etsy and that was the worst. That one was contorted to read like a Nigerian scam letter and the opening lines were that I should give my money to the "cause" and not to "those people" meaning Etsy. That letter was a little threatening. The rest were from a friend's email and those were contorted to read from a weight loss place and a singles club.

Before Yahoo mail went down a few weeks ago this happened 5 times. The mail came back up and the problem was gone for a couple of weeks until yesterday.

I don't think this is a fluke.

What do you think and do you know how to fix it? If you are from Yahoo admin this needs attention other than an automated response. I can't send these to spam or block them because they are received as legit emails from people and places I know.

Has anyone thought of harvesting plankton, fish and corals to breed and preserve for future generations so the oil won't totally kill them off? I was wondering if the marine biologists actually thought that some might not come back and maybe we should save them in aquariums and farms in clean water until the mess is cleaned up, especially plankton since it is a vital oxygen sourse.

I have been unemployed in Miami since February of last year. Most of the job ads are for bilingual candidates in Monster and Career builder. How do they get away with this? Any spanish speaking person in Miami that has any kind of money and wants to do business in Miami speaks English. Why do I need to speak spanish? I work in the accounting department mostly in accounts payable. I have never needed to speak spanish except with the cleaning lady and the gardener. Except for one job I had in my 15 years of experience where I had 63 contractors. Three had trouble with english but still knew the basics. I pay the bills. I get invoices in english. I am not in sales or on the switch board. My fellow employees speak english or both languages. I feel like it is an insult to my intelligence to try to tell me I need to be spanish speaking to get a job in an accounting dept. One boss I had in my past was honest and just wanted me to be spanish speaking to be able to get along with the girls in the office! What a crock! You don't need Spanish to cut checks and reconcile the GL. You don't need spanish to do a job that does not require you to answer the phone or do sales. As far as I know only a bank would really require spanish or a grocery store. Am I right or is this prejudice?

I am going to the Petit La Mans Friday and Saturday but will be in town on Thursday morning and have the whole day to explore. We will also have a good portion of the day on Sunday. I did the Cabbage Soup Diet in my 30's and lost 14lbs. I kept it off for several years. Now I am in my 40's and doing it again. My recipe is cabbage,onions,garlic,italian stewed tomatoes,celery,red and yellow peppers, poblano pepper, mushrooms and lots of italian herbs in a stock of V8 juice and low salt chicken stock.

I accidentally scheduled this diet near Easter when everybody eats dinner. Has anyone swapped any of the days around and the diet still come out okay? Or will I need to go on it another week? I am on day two of the diet. Please only serious answers not ads. I am of average good health and only need to loose 20lbs.

Some people act like they hate him and for what? He really is trying to put the pieces together and do his best. He came during a very hard time. Economics messed up, security messed up, foreign relations messed up and trust messed up. My whole family voted for him because he didn't sound like the same old same old. Sure things will be different, 8 years is along time to get used to something being done one way. What are people afraid of and why do people hate him?
