What would cause this sour smell?
I've been researching a little and I can't seem to find an appropriate answer for this. I have this awful smell in my house, almost like something is rotting (and dead). However, that can't be it because my partner can't smell a thing and thinks I'm crazy. I thought I might be crazy too, so I made a mental note to check out the smell after I got home from work. I didn't smell it at work, so it's not my imagination or something happening with me and when I got home, I was hit by it when I walked through the front door. Now, we are clean people and when I say that, I'm not just saying it. I have OCD and things must be clean and a certain way. Everything is dusted, swept, mopped, scrubbed and in it's place. We live in an older apartment building and I have read to check out the ducts and whatnot, however, it's not our place so all I could do was stick a digital camera down the vents and snap a photo but saw nothing out of the ordinary that would cause this stink.
Here's the kicker, this smell didn't start until it got warm and damp outside. It also seems to be mostly in the bedroom and just travels outside into the apartment. We have a small one bedroom and everything opens right into the other rooms so the entire apartment smells now. I have trouble sleeping at night because of this and I'm not sure what to do. My only guess is this is mold? If anyone has a clue, please fill me! Thanks so much in advance.
2 AnswersCleaning & Laundry9 years agoDreaming or haunting?
Within the last month, I have had a number of bad things happen. I had to put my dog down due to cancer, a serious relationship ended and because I can't afford the place in now that I'm single, I have to move at the end of the month. I'm under severe stress, however, this has never happened to me before...
Last night I was sleeping and someone crawled into bed with me three separate times. I could feel them crawling from the bottom of the bed and spoon me to comfort me. I never turned around to see who it was because I wasn't scared, I was relieved and went right back to sleep. I heard this "person" sigh a few times even, leave the bed and come back. For some reason I feel that this was a female, fairly young, maybe around 25 with a smaller build. If it was indeed a ghost of some sort, there was no harm intended and it doesn't scare me, kind of freaky, but I'm not afraid.
Has anyone had this happen to them? I've even Googled lucid dreaming and nothing fits what happened to me.
6 AnswersDream Interpretation1 decade agoHow do I get my dog to stop barking?!?
Hey all...I've recently moved into a new apartment building and my dog is still in the process of getting used to it. I also lost a dog and had to put him down due to illness so I don't believe that she is over that yet either. I've talked to my vet and she said to give her long walks, which I do and Benedryl which didn't work. She then told me to give her Xanax, which I've done and she still barks when I'm away from home. I've tried exercising her, sedating her, bought bark boxes that were supposed to deter her barking, I give her a kong to play with when I leave, I play "doggie zen" music for her while I'm away on repeat, I've tried citronella collars and I believe that I'm out of options. Someone said to take her to a training class but I honestly don't think that it's going to help. My neighbors are complaining about her barking. I feel like the only other option is to get her a friend to be around so that she isn't lonely but I don't have the money to do that. Any ideas?
4 AnswersDogs1 decade agoKeeping things from relationships past, weird or normal?
Alright, so in all my past relationships, I kept a box and in that box, I would keep notes, cards, photographs, etc. Pretty normal I think...yet, in the past I have been able to destroy that box shortly after the relationships were over. I now have a box of things from my ex that I can't let go of but really want to. She has moved on and it's time that I do too. Is it strange to keep them even after moving on or is it perfectly normal to want to be able to revisit what you once had. I was told that I was better off to destroy it.
5 AnswersSingles & Dating1 decade agoipod transfer to computer...?
I made the mistake of updating iTunes and now all of my CD's on there won't play because they were not bought from the iTunes store. I have too many on there to sit here for days uploading music. Does anyone know of a program to get around the apple "ghost"? Thanks in advance!
6 AnswersMusic & Music Players1 decade agoHP C4480 question....?
Ok, I have installed the software, all the plugs, USB cables, etc are fine. I can use it as a printer and a copier but what it won't do is scan. It comes up with an error when I try to import it through PS CS3 saying that it doesn't exist. I tried calling HP and after 37 minutes on hold, they told me that it would cost me $40 to help me. Anyone have any idea as to why this would do everything BUT scan? Thanks in advance!
2 AnswersPrinters1 decade agoThe perfect toy for a child?
Hi there, my friends little boy is turning 1 this month and I have no idea what to get him. What were some toys that you bought your children at that age? I have no children and aren't around that many so I'm clueless but I would like to get him something really cool that would last him for a couple of years. Thank you!
14 AnswersToys1 decade agoGeodon question for bipolar...?
Hey all,
I was wondering if anyone else knew about Geodon, it was recently added to my medications for being bipolar, which are Cymbalta and Ativan. I know that there is a side effect of you becoming sleepy, of that, I was forewarned and learned NOT to take both Geodon and Ativan at night to sleep. However, I feel sort of like I'm floating through the day, very numb and the numbness is not just my mind frame, my skin and tongue feel numb, I get hot flashes and I start to sweat when I'm not even hot, I have been trembling as well and I find it hard to enunciate certain words (probably because my tongue feels numb). I also sometimes feel like I'm looking at everything from inside out, if that makes any sense, kind of like watching a movie. Has anyone else had these side effects? I'm super sensitive to medications and I only started this one three days ago...I was wondering how long it took for the first side effects to wear off or perhaps I'm having an allergic reaction to the medication. Any information is helpful, as I don't want to call my doctor alarmed. Thank you!

1 AnswerMySpace1 decade agoFor female runners...?
I decided to start running and I love it but I have a bit of a problem. When my weight actually comes down on the concrete, it feels like my uterus is literally about to fall out. I noticed by the end that it felt like I had menstrual cramps and they lasted all night. I'm not about to start a period because I ended one about a week ago. Has this happened to anyone else, is it normal and will it go away over time? Thanks in advance.
5 AnswersRunning1 decade agoWhy won't my computer recognize my iPod?
I'm using an old iPod Shuffle (the kind that were so small you can clip them onto your clothes) and I have it charging. The problem is that when I turn it on, my computer isn't recognizing that it's there and neither is iTunes. I have checked the USB port and they are all fine, the iPod works, why won't it recognize it? I don't even care if I have to reset it to the factory settings, someone just tell me what the heck is going on! Please and thank you.
3 AnswersMusic & Music Players1 decade agoHow do you get over your dog passing?
Right now, a lot of people think that I'm being ridiculous because of my emotional state over my oldest dog, Caleb. I keep hearing, "You've done all you could", "it's not a person, it's not the same", "he will find peace", etc. While I realize that all of this is for the most part true, this dog has been a part of my everyday life for 7 years. I'm going to always think that there was something else that I could do for him, even if there wasn't. My problem is that I can't function...he is being put down tomorrow. I have a final due tomorrow and could care less, don't want to work, etc. I realize that this may just be a phase, but in all honesty I don't know if I will get better "with time", as I've heard. I've taken lots of photographs and videos of him to put together later on, made paw prints in kids air dry clay that I'm going to place with his photograph...anything to make me remember him. How did a lot of you that have had to put your pets down deal with it when it was over? I really need some help because with all of the other things that I have been dealing with in my personal life, I've become suicidal. I realize that this sounds ridiculous as well, but I've gotten some help for that and is currently being dealt with. I guess all I want to know is how to sooth the pain.
6 AnswersDogs1 decade agoPlaster of Paris imprint?
I'm trying to make a Plaster of Paris imprint of my dogs paw to go along with a photograph that I am trying to have framed because he has to be put down in a week or so. I'm having trouble getting the plaster to the right consistency, if I try it when it's too wet, it doesn't take, if I try it a little drier, it doesn't take. Is there a trick to this stuff? I haven't used it since elementary school...which kind of makes me wonder about me in general...but any advice is helpful. Thanks so much.
2 AnswersSculpture1 decade agoColloidal Silver for dogs?
Alright, so I have had my dog for a total of 7 years, I adopted him when he was 2. 2 years after I got him he started to get ill...about 6 vets, 5 different diet changes and more than $6000 later, he is still sick. I did some experimenting (since no one can seem to help him) and took him off all of the medications he was prescribed and he is doing so much better. He has more energy, his eyes are brighter, his fur is growing back in and he actually gets out of his comfy bed to "socialize". So, I'm thinking that it's an auto-immune issue or an over active oil gland issue (I have to bath him twice a week and his skin is almost greasy (and VERY stinky). I was going to start with the first with all natural medications like Colloidal Silver (an immune system booster) and Olive leaf extract (a natural anti-biotic) Now, I've taken it before because I used to have chronic bronchitis and colds and I've gotten so much better so I do believe that it works, the one thing that I can not find out from my vet or the doctor who suggested it to me is...Is it safe to give to my dog? Does anyone know anything about this? Thanks for any help!
2 AnswersDogs1 decade agoHow do I get what I think are water spray marks off my furniture?
I have what turns out to be very expensive LAMINATED wood furniture. You are not supposed to clean it with anything but a damp cloth but I noticed this morning that there was what I think is a water spray mark on the front of my dresser (probably from keeping the dogs in line with a water bottle!). I can't get it off with just a damp cloth. Anyone have any ideas of what would work on a laminated piece of furniture?
Thanks in advance everyone!
2 AnswersMaintenance & Repairs1 decade agoHow would you deal with a prank calling?
Alright, so for three days now, I've had a heavy breather on the phone who has, apparently, nothing better to do with his time than to call me, a complete and total stranger. I talked over him and said, "As interesting as your phone conversations with me are, I'm no longer interested, so f*** off." and hung up...that only worked for a little while because s/he has just called me again this morning. What is the best smart a** advice that someone could give me to get rid of the loser?
By the way, sorry about any category confusion, but what do you really put this under anyway?
22 AnswersEtiquette1 decade agoWhere can I get season 5 House MD shows?
Sadly, my class runs at the same time this semester as House MD. I don't have Tivo or a VCR...just a good old TV. So, I missed the first episode last week and I was completely bummed about it. I looked on their site and they only have clips. Anyone know where I can find the first episode?
2 AnswersDrama1 decade agoTomato plants are turning yellow...
HI all,
I'm experimenting with growing tomato plants upside down from a bucket (I live in an apartment building, so there is no where to plant them in the ground!) and so far, it was worked well. I have two blossoms and they are growing tomatoes. Here is the problem, two out of the 4 plants are starting to turn yellow in some places. I was wondering if this was due to over watering, not watering enough or is there just not enough room in the bucket? It's a 5 gallon bucket and there are 4 plants. Thanks for your help in advance!
1 AnswerOther - Home & Garden1 decade agoInternship gift????
I recently finished an internship for a studio and I was wondering what you guys thought might be a good gift. I've wracked my brain and I'm not sure. A little about this person, he's a photographer, loves the outdoors (boating, running, biking), is pretty much a laid back family kind of guy.
I obviously can't afford anything too outrageously priced but I can spend about $60.
Any ideas? Thanks in advance.
