I love technology as much as the next person, but there's something to be said for the simplicity of the toys we had in the 70s and 80s.

I made them a couple weeks ago to serve at xmas, and froze them. how many hours does it take to defrost them? also, i forgot to roll them in cocoa or nuts before freezing, should do it while still frozen, or wait till they thaw?

I'm in charge of christmas dessert this year and I need feedback on what i'm serving.

Traditional Xmas Pudding custard (mandatory or the elders will riot)

Shortbread Cookies (traditional in our house)

Here's are the added desserts. I'm not sure which way to go. It's all adults this year. Please pick which one you like best:

Pannetone Bread Pudding with Amaretto sauce (Giada's Recipe)

Mandarines or clementines (or some other fruit)

OR

Assortment of cookies and treats: Rum Balls, Almond Cookies, truffles.

Some fruit to break all the richness

I want to get some xmas baking done this weekend and i'm looking for something that will still taste good at xmas (will freeze if needed).

We usually have Christmas pudding and shortbread cookies for dessert. This year, I want to add something new to the mix. Nothing too rich, and for a mostly adult crowd. Thanks!

i'm trying to make my recipe healthier. do cut back on the flour and replace it with oatmeal? or do i add the oats on top?

I have frozen paneer cubes. What's the best way to thaw it? In the microwave (how long?) or in the fridge? Is there anything else i should do before using it?

I currently have it scheduled every day, but my laptop is 6 years old and this significantly slows down my computer and my browsing speed. it's rather annoying. i'm using McAfee. any ideas would be welcome.

i'm tempted to buy a tivo in states cause it's cheaper and bring it back home to canada. is there any reason that it won't work in Canada? Has anyone in canada done this?

I've just finished making beouf bourguignon and have popped it in the oven to simmer for a few hours. my problem is that all the recipes i've read call for 2-3 hours at 300F to 325F. I've got to go to class and won't be back for 4 hours. What temp should I set the oven to?

ie. using things you'd find at home in the pantry or fridge
