How would I go about converting negatives from 1895 to digital?
I have dozens of negatives I purchased at an auction that I would like to have converted (or be able to do myself) to digital. These are not 110 or 35 mm, so I'm not quite sure which kind of scanning equipment I would need.
3 AnswersPhotography1 decade agoSeniors, what do you think of this email I just received from my aunt?
Dear Cheryl,
I love this plan!
This was an article from the St. Petersburg Times Newspaper on Sunday. The Business Section asked readers for ideas on "How Would You Fix the Economy?"
I thought this was the BEST idea. I think this guy nailed it!
Dear Mr. President,
Patriotic retirement:
There's about 40 million people over 50 in the work force;
pay them $1 million apiece severance with three stipulations:
1) They leave their jobs. Forty million job openings - Unemployment fixed.
2) They buy NEW American cars. Forty million cars ordered - Auto Industry fixed.
3) They either buy a house or pay off their mortgage- Housing Crisis fixed.
All National financial problems fixed!!!
TOTAL cost $400 Billion
Sincerely,
A Fellow American
Love, Aunt Georgie
10 AnswersSenior Citizens1 decade agoCan you believe anyone in HS would ask this?

Teachers: Please teach you children what a senior citizen is, and what sexual harrassment is?
The children constantly come to the Senior Citizen's catagory asking what a good sleepover theme is; what would be a good senior prank; and what would be a good graduation theme for seniors. You would not believe the answers they get, LOL
5 AnswersPrimary & Secondary Education1 decade agoDid any of you participate in the Mechanical Turk online search?
For Steve Fossett's plane last year? I spent weeks poring over small satellite images, so, to me, it is a relief he was finally found. And if you did participate, did you happen to cover that area? It wasn't in any of the images I searched.
2 AnswersSenior Citizens1 decade agoDo you give out Halloween candy to the youngsters that come to your door?
Some don't, but in this community, Halloween is still a big event. The fire company makes a haunted forest, they have contests, and at the end a cake auction. And kids still safely go door to door trick or treating.
22 AnswersSenior Citizens1 decade agoNow that autumn is almost here?
Do you take walks in the woods to feel the crispness of the leaves underfoot, and to look at the beautiful fall colors? Do you walk more in the fall than other times of year?
14 AnswersSenior Citizens1 decade agoOne little thing I always wanted to know?
Why is it that a teabag with a staple in it can go into the microwave? Why doesn't it arc like other metal objects? Does anyone know?
I'm asking this in seniors, because of their wisdom, and their life experience.
16 AnswersSenior Citizens1 decade agoIn the late 70s or early 80s, there was a country song?
About the hostage crisis in Iran. It was NOT "Bomb Iran", that was a different one. This one was a country song that mentioned Arafat (ugly), and Khaddafi, and I cannot remember the name, the singers (one hit wonders) or even the year. But, I'd like to hear it again.
Anyone remember?
5 AnswersSenior Citizens1 decade agoSeniors, how do you like your dumplings in Chicken and Dumplins?
I know this sounds kind of banal, but this seems to be a serious discussion in some circles. So, I thought you could help me out with your own personal choice, and I can show it to my friends. Now--the choices are--flat, what are called 'slippery' dumplings, or the risen, bicuity ones?

Other than your children, have you ever purchased, or built a play house or tree house for your grandchildren, nieces or nephews?

18 AnswersSenior Citizens1 decade agoWhat beverage do you drink at home first thing in the morning?
Not take-out
I drink tea. But I drink a lot and have been advised by the Nurse that I should cut back.
28 AnswersSenior Citizens1 decade agoWhen you drive down the country roads, do you stop to pick the wildflowers or do you pass them by?
Driving on these country roads, it is common to see tiger lilies, daisies, and black eyed susans. And sometimes, the history of the area shows its face in the groups of tulips, and daffodils, that show the evidence of a once-loved flower bed where no house exists today. And roses. Everywhere.
I am always tempted to stop and pick these lovely flowers, but then feel guilty for even thinking of depriving someone else the beautiful sight of them.
23 AnswersSenior Citizens1 decade agoWhen you ask a question?
What kind of answer do you prefer? Serious, funny, snide? I see a lot of snide answers. I also see a lot of defensive answers. What part of your character are you extending? I feel the need to protect the questioner from attacks, but it doesn't always work. As in the case of Maureen S. I miss her wit and sensible answers.
And for those that are blocking people, don't they deserve an explanation of why they are being blocked from answering you? Especially those that may have disagreed, but never attacked. We are, after all, here to get other's opinions.
21 AnswersSenior Citizens1 decade agoDo you and your spouse keep all finances separate?
Following on a earlier question: My husband and I keep all of our accounts, credit and banking, and all of our real estate separate, do you? We have been married a long time, but this seems to work the best for us.
