Why do some Christians believe it is OK for other Christians to lie about being Jewish?
Simply and bluntly put, Jesus is irrelevant to us Jews. Jesus has as much relevance to us as Vishnu (a Hindu god) has to Christians. In other words, NONE. Whether Jesus the man ever existed or not is of no importance to us.
However, you will hear about and hear from on this forum some Christians who for reasons that continue to mystify Jews, call themselves Jews! These are the self-proclaimed "Messianic Jews" (the term always should be put in quotes to indicate it is a misnomer) who worship and revere Jesus, although they use another name for him--Yashua or something like that. Most were never Jewish to begin with and the few who were abandoned the religion they were brought up in when they began to worship a god of another religion. A Jew ceases to be a Jew as soon as they convert to another religion. These "messianic Jews" want to have it both ways--convert to another religion by worshiping Jesus but still remain Jews. But they can't have it both ways. If they would only stop calling themselves Jews we would view them as we do peoples of other religions--with warmth, kindness, love, and respect. But because they continue to claim our name as their own and thus misrepresent us, we view them with disgust.
Based on answers I have seen to other questions here, some Christians think it is OK for these people to call themselves Jews in spite of the fact that no Jew or Jewish organization on earth recognizes them as being Jewish. Why is that?
17 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoWho was that TV faith healer in the 1950's-1960's that used to?
scream "Out, out vile demon!" right before he would smack the supposedly ill person on the forehead causing them to collapse and then get up cured? I remember watching him a few times but can't remember who it was.
4 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoHow come "creation scientists" are able to fool so many otherwise intelligent people?
Is it because many people don't understand even the most basic characteristics of what constitutes science or do they set aside their understanding of science when it conflicts with their religious beliefs? Doesn't the fact that the "creation scientists" are in the business of running internet "ministries" make them suspect they may not be scientists after all?
13 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoWhy are "messianic Jews" censoring my answers?
Are they afraid of being exposed as frauds by my honest, truthful answers? (everyone knows Jesus has no role whatsoever in Judaism)

9 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoDoes Christianity have any similar problem as does Judaism?
with imposters claiming to be Christian? I am referring to the self-proclaimed "messianic Jews" who believe in Jesus yet claim to be Jews. No Jew on earth accepts them as Jews because they violate our basic beliefs as well as bringing blasphemy to our customs and rituals by their practices. Are there any analagous groups who proclaim they are "Christians" but who obviously are not? I am not talking about differences among recognized Christian sects here but rather major, fundamental differences that clearly make them non-Christian in the eyes of all Christians (for example, they worship devils or totally disavow Jesus)?
13 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoWhy are some Christians so arrogant about their religion?
and why do they direct their arrogance only toward Jews?
19 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade ago"Creation Scientists": don't understand science or just lying?
If people who call themselves "creation scientists" really understood science then they would not be "creation scientists." Why not? Because the very nature of science itself precludes the supernatural. Belief in the supernatural is fine in a religious sense, but it has no place in science, no matter how much one believes in it.
So, doesn't that mean that "creation scientists" just don't understand science? Oh, wait, there is one other possibility--they DO understand science and are perpetuating a fraud upon those who support and send money to their "ministries?" Is there any other explanation other than these two (don't understand or lie)?
11 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoWhy won't some Christians believe Jews when we say Jesus is not part of our religion?
Is it because there are some Christians who fraudulently call themselves Jews?
17 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoHow do "creation scientists" explain the dentary bone?
The lower jaw of all mammals consists of a pair of dentary bones (a left and a right) which are articulated together at the chin. All mammals have only this one pair of bones making up the lower jaw. Reptiles, birds, and amphibians, however, have in addition to the dentary bones several other pairs of bones making up the lower jaw. These bones include the angulars, splenials, postsplenials, etc. According to accepted science, the presence of this single pair of bones in mammal jaws is a result of the loss of the other elements which were present in the ancestors of mammals simultaneous with the enlargement of the dentary bones. The progressive loss of other elements and the enlargement of the dentary bones is seen in a progression of transitional fossils from mammal-like reptiles, to reptile-like mammals, and to early mammals. How do the other type of "scientists" who call themselves "creation scientists" or ID creationists explain the dentary bone without invoking the supernatural (which can not be done in science)?
2 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoHow do creationists explain the nasal bones?
All living tetrapod vertebrate animals (amphibians, reptiles, birds, and mammals) have a pair of nasal bones in their skulls located in the same general region. A similar pair of bones are present in the fossilized skulls of labyrinthodont amphibians from the Devonian Period. Descent from a common ancestor (the labyrinthodont amphibian) with little evolutionary change in these particular bones is the scientific explanation for the presence of this pair of bones in modern amphbians, reptiles, birds and mammals. How do "creation scientists" or Intelligent Design creationists explain the existence of a pair of nasal bones in living tetrapods without resorting to a supernatural explanation (which is not allowed in science)?
10 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoDoes anyone really believe "the Complete Jewish Bible" is really a Jewish Bible?
The "Complete Jewish Bible" by David Stern is a fraud--it contains the Old Testament (a mistranslated, reworked version of the Jewish Bible) as well as the New Testament, which of course is exclusively Christian. Thus, the "Complete Jewish Bible" is nothing but a complete fraud. Agree or disagree?
12 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoDo you want your children being taught creationism in their science class?
If you do want this, would you still want it if you found out the version of creation being taught was not based on your family's religion but instead was based on some other religion?
29 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoWould Christians endorse devil-worshipers as fellow Christians?
There are many Christians who endorse the habit of some messianics calling themselves Jews, despite the fact that they accept Jesus, who plays no role whatsoever in Judaism. Would these same Christians also fully accept as fellow Christians a devil-worshiping group if such a group decided to call themselves Christian (without abandoning their devil worship while they put up some crosses and did some other "Christian" things)? I mean, if it is OK with them for people who worship Jesus to call themselves Jews, why wouldn't it be OK with them for people who worship devils to call themselves Christians? Shouldn't the same "rules" apply to everyone? Would it help if the devil-worshipers called themselves "satanic Christians" or "completed Christians" instead of just "Christians" to be accepted by other Christians?
14 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoWould you be a bigot if you complained about those who make a mockery of your religion?
by claiming to belong to your religion while openly violating the most basic, sacred tenants of your religion?
7 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoWill the "messianic Jews" please explain why they refuse to admit they are really Christians?
The differences between Judaism and Christianity are profound yet there is a cult of Christians who call themselves "messianic Jews" who refuse to be known as Christians. Instead they take Jesus, insert him into Judaism, bastardize Jewish customs and rituals, and proclaim themselves to be Jews. How can anything be more bizarre, disrespectful, and blasphemous with regard to BOTH religions?
13 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoWhy do some Christians apparently believe that the three stooges were divine sons of God?
Some Christians say "Well, Jesus was Jewish" when they object when being told by Jews that the so-called "messianic Jews" are not really Jews. Using this same bizarre "logic", doesn't that mean that these same Christians should believe in the divinity of the three stooges (all 3 were Jewish)?
6 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoWhy do some Christians believe it is OK for other Christians to lie about being Jewish?
Some Christians who answer questions here seem to feel there is nothing wrong with other Christians falsely calling themselves "Messianic Jews". Why do they support when instead they should denounce this deception?
15 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoCreation Science and Intelligent Design--Science or not?
IF either the biblical account of creation or "Intelligent Design" creationism did not involve the supernatural, THEN either one of these two ideas might begin to be considered for further scientific scrutiny. However, both fail as science (an idea can not be considered scientific if it invokes the supernatural) and therefore it is pointless to argue the details. Who, besides the philosophers and mathematicians who run the Discovery Institute and the ministers who run the Institute for Creation Research, would disagree and if so why? If you do disagree, please provide support for including the supernatural in science.
