  • What is going on with the terminator timeline?

I just recently saw terminator genisys and now I am very confused. Three major questions come up...

    1. Who sent the guardian to Sarah Connor?

    2. Why did the date skynet becomes self aware change from 1997 to 2017?

    3. The movie shows that skynet used the time machine to send the terminator back to 1984. Then skynet was destroyed except for the 1 embodiment of it. So how did the other terminators come back? Did that 1 guy start manufacturing them? And if so, who sent the guardian back, because skynet obviously wouldn't have done that and Conner was already transformed...

    I am so confused...

  • If you pay money for an ID and an ID is required to vote, why doesn't that violate the 24th amendment to the constitution?

I've been torn on this issue... And it took me until today to figure out why. On the one hand, I think it is important to make sure voter fraud doesn't happen, but on the other hand, you have to pay money for either a state issued ID or a drivers license. Wouldn't the fact that you have to pay money for an ID violate the 24th amendment to the constitution? My solution would be to cease charging money for ID's and making them required to vote everywhere, but I am curious on others thoughts as to whether the argument could be made that paying for an ID violates the 24th amendment if the ID is required to vote.

  • Siding J-Channel required? Is caulking flashing a good idea?

I recently had water in my basement. I found the source to be corrosion of the deck ledger flashing because the installers used carbon steel nails through the aluminum flashing to secure the deck boards.

When I removed the flashing, I found that the siding J-Channel, which butts up against the deck boards, was nailed to the flashing as well. There was no corrosion here because they had used galvanized nails.

I reinstalled the J-channel by fastening it to the flashing with galvanized nails, just as they had. Now I am wondering if that was a smart idea or not. I have always heard not to put holes in flashing but there appears to be no other way to fasten the J-channel to the house and I think it would make the house look unfinished without it.

Also, in the demolition of the old flashing, I noticed that they did not use a sealant to fasten the flashing down. With the flashing I reinstalled, I used a waterproof exterior sealant between the ledger board and the flashing and between the flashing pieces to eliminate water pushing in there. Will it hurt the ledger board or house to use the sealant in this location? Can it change the flow path of any water that gets down to the flashing and cause it to somehow get behind the ledger board?

  • What is wrong with my car?

I have a 2007 pontiac G6 with 120,000 miles on it. The oil pressure light comes on whenever there is sudden acceleration, like after a stop light or to pass. The oil level is fine and the temperature never goes up. I was thinking it may just be a faulty pressure sensor but the fact that it only comes on when I accelerate makes me wonder. Has anyone else experienced something like this?

  • Is this a scorpion??

Ok. So I work in Iowa about 3 miles from the Missouri river. Today I stumbled upon an insect that very much resembled a scorpion. It had claws and 8 legs but the tail was curled back instead of up like I've seen scorpions before. Has anybody ever seen anything like this before? I tried to take a picture but it didn't turn out.

  • What is wrong with my car?

I have a 2007 Pontiac G6 with 58,000 miles on it. I've never had many issues except recently when starting the car up and immediatley taking off the first time you stop, the car will die. It starts up fine again and once the car warms up everything is ok. What is going on here? Should I get some fuel injector cleaner? Change Fuel Filter? Fuel Pump?

  • Can an IDE hard drive be connected via USB?

I have an old IDE hard drive from a 2000 compaq presario desktop that I need to recover a few programs from. My new dell desktop has no IDE connections to the motherboard as the hard drive is of the SATA variety. A coworker tells me there is a cable out there that can connect an internal hard drive to a desktop externally via a USB cable. Is this the case and where can I get one?

  • Why do people say the earth will get drier if global warming is manmade?

Manmade combustion yields CO2 and H2O and to a lesser extent CO, NOx, etc. If global warming is truly man-caused, wouldn't the earth generally get wetter due to the increased H2O in the atmosphere?

  • Need help with tires!!!!!!!!!!!?

I blew a tire on my 2007 Pontiac G6 GT. The shop I took it to to get a replacement only had 1 tire that fit on my rim. It was a cooper tire costing about $160. I've decided to replace the rest of the tires as the car is at 60,000 miles. Now that I have time to research tires, I can find cheaper good quality tires for around $110 a tire. My question, will having 1 tire with a different tread pattern affect driving at all?

  • Total Dynamic Head Question?

I've got a centrifugal pump I'm looking at adding another discharge line to. I'm trying to determine if the pump has the ability to pump to both the original destination and this new discharge line. I am having a problem developing the system curve after the T in the discharge line. Do I add the TDH's together in the discharge lines to get my system requirement?

  • Is it the right time to refinance?

Interest rates have fallen dramatically. Currently I have a 30 year fixed rate of 6.34% w/ 28 years 10 months and about $148k remaining. My credit score is excellent and I could probably get about 5.25% at highest for a 30 year fixed. Planning on moving within 2-5 years. Should I refi now?

  • Help! Fantasy football problems!?

I have Thomas Jones, Marion Barber, Steve Slaton and Deangelo Williams on my fantasy team. I need to start 2 of them. Based on previous performance (and because they pretty much aren't sharing carries, except for a few by Washington) I am inclined to start Barber and Jones but the defensive matchups say Williams and Slaton would be better! Help!
