Will Apple continue to offer the 13" MacBook Pro beyond mid-2012?
In writing as of January 19, 2012, the current specifications for the MacBook Pro have been in the market for 3 months (Released October 24, 2011).
I was wondering if Apple will continue to offer 13" MacBook Pro by mid year at all, since I'm looking to have something a bit more versatility and some upgrade room further down the line when using my computer.
Asking since the MacBook Air is non-upgradable (not even the RAM & its SSD). RAM is not upgradable, since it's integrated on to the M/B and the SSD is due to its proprietary connector and it's very difficult for me to get a new SSD for the MacBook Air in Hong Kong too, without having to through Apple themselves.
1 AnswerLaptops & Notebooks9 years agoIs it safe for a pregnant woman to travel by plane during the first 3 months?
I've seen some articles on the web and certain airlines stating that air travel during the first trimester (within 13 weeks pregnant) is not recommended.
Is it generally still safe to fly while the pregnancy is not yet stable?
Is there a greater risk of miscarriage, complications or health hazards to the mother and the unborn child?
2 AnswersPregnancy9 years agoAre strippers notorious for causing failed relationships?
We've all been through relationships where we do face difficult times, especially within the relationship. I know a lot of the cheating is initiated by guys, where they always go to women to escape reality for a while.
There can be a multitude of reasons why guys initiate it and it includes but not limited to the following:
- Finances
- Family (especially if his wife is pregnant with his unborn child)
- Professional Life
- Partners are pushing them to cheat (women being control freaks or being bossy boots).
- Not getting the comforts from his partner such as sex on a regular basis.
Often or what not, these guys (not real or true Men) always tries to go to strip joints and talk to women who will understand their frustrations, who will listen and of course provide comfort. These women can even be strippers too.
9 AnswersMarriage & Divorce9 years agoHaneda Airport Operations?
As I was viewing the Haneda Airport pages along with Google Maps, the 05/23 runway is built on reclamation and it has a 2,500m length. This runway is primarily used by the International Flights that come in and out during the overnight hours (long-haul flights).
Is that a sufficient length of a runway for the long-haul 777-300ERs for take-off? Well at this time I don't think they'll be hosting A380s anytime within 5 years; I could be wrong but I'm not quite seeing it yet.
Judging by the Google Maps, this runway can be extended further into the bay (23 end) through reclamation. Do you think that it would be possible to extend it should the need arise?
With the 3 other runways, do these have an overnight curfew?
1 AnswerAircraft9 years agoCairo Metro's Women only compartments?
As I understand that in the Cairo Metro system, the 4th & 5th cars (out of the 9) are reserved for women (5th car being mixed use after 2100).
I was wondering if these women only compartments will allow the mother and children (provided that her child(ren) are still minors, even if there's at least a boy) travelling together?
It doesn't have to be like mother and her children, it can be aunts or female cousin in custody of the children at the time being.
Not really talking about children alone though. Please correct for me if I'm wrong.
3 AnswersEgypt9 years agoShould the IATA label "MOML- Muslim Meal" into "HLML- Halal Meal"?
As far as Airline catering goes, the IATA often label their Muslim meals as MOML or some airlines even say that it's a non-Pork meal. This would really raise concerns too, especially among the Muslim customers.
Are airline meals that say that are labeled as "Muslim Meal" really Halal, especially from an airline that is based in a non-Islamic country?
As sometimes, it's very deceptive and that most airlines often have to battle costs in supplying specialized meals like this, since many airlines treat this as a special request.
However for the airlines such as Emirates, Etihad Airways and Qatar Airways they all offer Halal meals, without any special requests.
5 AnswersAir Travel9 years agoDress Code in Dubai, Abu Dhabi or Doha?
As non-Muslims that reside in these areas (short or long term) are there any dress codes that we have to abide with?
Myself, I'm basically going over for business and maybe some leisure to go along with it along with some mates at work along with a guide who will translate for me.
I know for women, it's slightly more restrictive but not too alarming for many people. I know it's no cut off shorts, spaghetti straps, low cut tops and no mid-riff baring. But is it OK for the ladies to wear her skirt or dress (knee length) and high heels out in public in those areas (bare legs or if she chooses tights, pantyhose or stockings)?
For short-term stays, as non-Muslims if we we're to have alcohol say at a restaurant or in our abode; do we need to apply for a permit at the airport or anywhere in particular? This also applies for us if we we're to go to a store to purchase pork products (where offered), which I know we need permits to do so.
5 AnswersOther - Africa & Middle East10 years agoWhat would be a good name for a restaurant that showcases Mediterranean Gastronomy?
Not that I'm planning to start up a restaurant anytime within 3 years, but I happen to be visioning this in Hong Kong where there's already quite a strong Italian or French cuisine market, but I'm looking to just specialize in Mediterranean fare, where theire isn't really much of it.
Here are some of the dishes I believe it would showcase the European Med. (Sorry, no arabic influences, such as kebabs)
- Bouliabbaise and/or Seafood risoto.
- A pasta dish or two.
- Paeilla.
- Greek Inspired Lamb.
If you folks have any suggestions, you're entitled to an opinion and input.
6 AnswersEthnic Cuisine10 years agoIf you found out that your wife is pregnant, would that be grounds for a marriage?
Today, I found out in the headlines thorough multiple press agencies where a HK based former couple; a Property Tycoon (ex-husband) and a Solicitor (ex-wife) have just had a verdict from the court about the settlement and payments, in which the ex-wife has won.
The marriage collapsed as a result of the Solicitor's pregnancy and her husband demanded abortion, but she declined her husband's request. Since the baby was born (a girl, now 3 years old), the father has only seen her twice. This example is a real sorry excuse for a father, having only seen his child twice in 3 years.
If you found out that your wife is newly pregnant with your baby (she's within the first 12 weeks) and you demanded abortion, yet your wife opposes; would this cause you to terminate your relationship with your wife along with your unborn child?
5 AnswersMarriage & Divorce10 years agoWould you really avoid High Street chain restaurants at all costs?
Almost every major metropolis along with their outlying areas (suburbs) has nationwide chain restaurants (aka High Street chains). Do you think they're generic, soulless, passionless or even uninspiring?
In economically challenging times, it's mostly the private restaurants that suffer from the lower profits; whereas these High St. chains, which likely have a parental firm have the money to pull all sorts of marketing ploys and strategies.
Would you rather eat at a private restaurant that does charge you just slightly more than those High St. offerings? Provided that they're both have the same quality of food, service, have inviting atmosphere and in the same boat with overall hygiene & sanitation?
3 AnswersOther - Dining Out10 years agoAre Halal meats necessarily better for us?
I know that with the Halal meats and poultry (animals that are slaughtered and prepared for human consumption according to the Islamic Law), they're pointed towards Mecca, the throat slit from the animal's right to left and cleaned.
Are these meats and poultry better for us, health wise and taste wise? Are these animals usually treated with zero tolerance to cruelty?
Additionally, is it true that "True Christians don't eat pork." at all?
1 AnswerOther - Food & Drink10 years agoWhy is late virginity such a taboo subject?
I know a lot of people have been very open to talk about waiving their virginity when they're like in their late teens. For those that still haven't gave it away well into adulthood, they start to feel uncomfortable talking about it.
One shocking thing I found is that for Japanese adults by the time they're 40, more than 25% of them haven't even taken that plunge of losing it.
If you happen to lose your virginity rather late, did you feel ashamed of telling your partner about it? Did your partner feel alright about it too?
Does it always feel more uncomfortable to even talk about it as time goes by?
2 AnswersGender Studies10 years agoDoes Algeria have a potential as a tourism spot?
Algeria itself has been through a 10 year civil war in the 90s along with the security related issues, is the country still safe enough to travel into and for the tourists?
Overall, I do see that Algeria, especially Algiers does have that old colonial charm. However, I know that the country's tourism market is not as strong nor as developed as its nearby neighbors Morocco, Tunisia and Egypt.
1 AnswerAlgeria10 years agoDoes your husband's gas problems affect your intimacy with him?
Ladies, we've all been through a snoring husband and how it even does affect a relationship. Does that affect the sex life too?
What about if your husband is constantly being flatulent in the bed, while the both of you are sleeping? Does that cause marital problems too?
Anyway that you would do to eliminate these problems, aside from temporarily relocating to the living room for a few nights?
8 AnswersMarriage & Divorce10 years agoIs cremation possible for the obese?
I know that a lot of the cremation chambers are not large enough to accommodate larger bodies, especially those of the obese.
But even if there are such things, is it even a viable option?
Add to that, does it really affect the way that the body decomposes in the cremation oven?
12 AnswersReligion & Spirituality10 years agoIf you're living in an area full of luxury housing...?
Does it bother you that just outside the area that is loaded with luxury housing, that just across the street from a major arterial road, is full of government housing projects (subsidized housing) housing the poor or low income nobodys?
Would you be complaining if you have to live so close to the poor too?
Remember that a lot of these people who live in government housing have low, unsustainable or even no income at all. All too often, there's a lot of bickering in the domestic front. Yes, there's can be very blissful families too, even though they're poor and there are rich households that are full of conflict.
4 AnswersOther - Society & Culture10 years agoIs there a substitute for the baby fava beans in Ful Medames?
I recently watched a few documentaries with regarding to Egyptian culture (including cuisine) and many times over, have seen a traditional dish "Ful Medames" but simply called "Ful", essentially similar to re-fried beans in Mexico and the US states of Texas, New Mexico, California and Arizona (all of which have International borders with Mexico), only that they use baby fava beans in Ful.
Also found out that this "Ful Medames" is a mainstay for many Egyptians (especially among the country's poor), the key is to have a little bit of Ful and a whole lot of pita bread to keep you going through the whole day, until dinner (sunset); since many eat this for breakfast.
Since I'm allergic to Fava Beans, even the Baby ones; are there any viable bean substitute(s) for this application?
Ethnic Cuisine10 years agoIf one part of a town had a load of chain restaurants...?
If you we're in a certain part of a town or city, where there's like a lot of chain or corporate based restaurant, yet there's only like one or two independent establishments standing lonely and frightened; which place would you more likely to have a meal?
Please use the following factors when you're making any judgments:
Given that both of these (chain or corporate) and independent restaurants offer the similar cuisine and for equally competitive prices.
They both have equally inviting facades and decors, equally attentive service and basically the food standards are very competitive too.
7 AnswersOther - Dining Out10 years agoCan after school activities keep teen girls from becoming sexually active?
Alarmingly, teens are becoming more sexually active creatures than ever before and even at an earlier age, sometimes as young as 11 or 12. The whole baby bulge phenomenon from the media only made matters worse.
This is a lot more prominent for girls that are being raised in single parent households where the parent is occupied with 2 or even 3 jobs just to provide for her possibly only child and a stable roof over their heads, than in a household with both parents. The main compliant from these single parents (usually mother) is that they don't have enough time for their child due to school and/or 2 jobs.
Do you believe that if the teen girls are in these after school clubs or activities, this can prevent them from being sexually active at an early age? Too many teen girls nowadays always have these raging hormones and the peer pressure of losing their sacred virginity.
What can parent(s) also do to ensure that they can abstain their teen daughter(s) from becoming sexually active too soon? This is other than talking to them about sex, placing them in birth control, insisting on protection, the consequences, STDs and careful family planning.
