  • Help I think I have a crush on my teacher?

I can't stop thinking about my Japanese teacher who's teaching me Japanese. She's the sweetest, kindest, and most patient person I've ever known. She's also very attractive!

But I know it's wrong, especially since we're about 18 years apart in age.

How can I forget this crush I have on her?

  • Do you feel close to your friends?

Most people have a tight bunch of friends with whom they share everything with. But for me, I've never felt close to any of my friends, especially after we've parted ways in life. My reason is probably because based on my experience, I've learnt that friends are always there to share your joy, but will become really busy when you're having trouble. Keeping an emotional distance and not being too attached to my friends has become the norm for me.

Do you feel close to your friends? If you don't, what's your reason?

  • Charges for voluntary manslaughter?

Consider a situation where someone was defenceless against his/her attacker, and I was there to stop the attacker. What if he turned to attack me with a knife, and I had to retaliate in self defence, killing him in the process? Take into account that he did not land any blows.

How would I be charged in that situation?

If I had been slashed by him, would I face less charges?

P.S. I'm not a lawyer. I'm purely asking for interest as I recently came upon an article where several women were viciously attacked by a drunk man, but the crowd of onlookers were simply, well.. looking, and none stood up for the women.

  • Swelling of skin around wart on foot?

This wart has been bugging me for the past few weeks and I've been using corn plasters (the ones with salicyclic acid) to try and get rid of it. But 2 days ago, it began to swell up and has made walking for me very painful and uncomfortable.

Should I stop using the plasters? What can I do to stop the swelling? I scheduled an appointment with a skin specialist on saturday but I don't think I can make it till then since I have a long commute from home to school.

  • Should I text her if I'm not sure I like her?

I met this girl at an event yesterday and we exchanged numbers(she asked for mine first). She's kind of cute and I like talking to her. But I'm not sure I like her as someone more than a friend, though it may be because I have too much going on in my life right now and don't feel confident being committed to a relationship.

I might see her again next time at another event held by the mutual club we are in. I like talking to her but I don't want her to get the wrong idea that I'm interested in being more than friends right now.

    Should I text her?

  • Does 0.2Ghz difference make a big difference?

I'm looking at the Asus UX32VD ultrabook.

The i5 processor gets me 1.8GHz whereas the i7 gets 2.0GHz.

The price difference between the i5 and i7 is USD160.

I'll be using it mainly for autocad and also light gaming.

Is it worth it to upgrade to i7?

  • How do I welcome a Japanese Professor to give his speech, in Japanese?

I have a few Japanese guests coming over to my school for an exchange programme. I am the MC for the day and am wondering how I would invite the Professor up to the stage to give his speech?

His title is Professor Toyama, so do I call him Toyama-sensei?

If so, how do I invite him up to the stage in Japanese?

  • Mouse lag fix help!!?

I own a microsoft arc touch mouse.

Usually it functions fine without any lag but sometimes it lags for a full minute whereby the cursor appears to 'teleport' a few pixels away than intended.

Not a big problem but I would appreciate it if it could go away

  • How do I make S/N Serial numbers in excel increment based only on entries in 1 column?

For example, I am creating a business excel street to record sales of my product.

    Every entry will have:

    -Name

    -Design of product

Customers will be allowed to purchase more than 1 product, but I want to log it in such that the 2nd product onwards will occupy the cell directly below the previous. Therefore, the cell under the Name column of the same customer will be empty if he chooses to buy multiple items.

I need this so that I can count the number of cells at the end to record the total number of sales.

However, my dilemma comes when I want to automatically assign the S/N to each customer.

So my question is, how do I set the S/N to automatically increment based on only entries in 1 column?

  • Am I overreacting over my friend's actions?

I've had some time to think about what makes a good friend and what doesn't. So I have this friend who I thought I was a good friend but I've been starting to wonder if that's true based on her actions.

    1) Bails when she feels like it

    2) Talks to her boyfriend (and other people I assume) about me behind my back

    3) Judges me and tells it to me in front of my face (e.g. wow you look really ugly today)

    4) Ignores my texts sometimes

    5) Texts other people a lot when we go out

    6) Rarely texts me first

Before I had my 'revelation', I thought some of it were her personality quirks or maybe she really is too busy to have time for me. But then I started to think whether she's using me to feel better about herself or only come to me when she's bored. I don't want to jump to conclusions so here I am asking the Yahoo! answers community on how I should think about this. Am I overreacting?

  • Feeling lost without my friends?

I've always been easily affected by my peers and only recently I've realised it. Whenever I'm around my friends, I feel like they're family, like they're the closest people I have. With them, I feel content and safe, like nothing could ever go wrong. But when we part our ways after a long day, I feel empty, like all the joy in my life has been taken along with my friends' departure. I feel lost, without a sense of direction, and then I feel as if I have no purpose in life. I know its extreme, but that's really how I feel when I am with and without my friends.

I'm not looking for a solution, just someone who can empathize with me...

  • What do you think of the K-12 education policy in the Philippines?

The K-12 policy extends the former K-10 policy by adding a Senior High School program consisting of 2 years. During this 2 years, students will be taught either Academics, Technical-vocational or Sports and arts.

The Philippines has always lagged behind in terms of academic education. For example, they rank one of the lowest in the world when students are tested for math and science proficiency.

There has been much debate as to whether K-12 is the right approach to improving education.

Do you think it is a boon or a bane, or both, to the Philippines education system?

  • What do you define as a tight shirt?

    Compared to a fitting shirt.

I have some t-shirts that are fitting to my build but not tight (doesn't look like its being stretched.)

But since my upper torso is bigger than my lower torso, you could see my body shape on the top half on my body.

Now I've had a few friends who said that as long as they could see body shape, the shirt is too tight. But I don't feel that way.
