  • New Trek: Remedy, Fuel EX, or Scratch?

I am in the market for a new mountainbike.

I am considering these models of Trek bike: Fuel EX, Remedy, and Scratch.

Now, money is no object in this case.

    What I want:

A bike that is relatively easy to pedal up a hill, or across single track, and yet does not suffer on downhill segments.

See, I have an Ironhorse Sinister Comp, which is/was a downhill bike; it seems heavy, and is not fun to pedal uphill. I like downhill, but realize that I must go uphill to reach the downhill portion, so I want a bike that will do it all equally well.

THoughts? It HAS to be a Trek; though another Trek model could be suggested if you have a reason for it.

  • Are Carbon Fiber mountain bikes safe?

    Hello,

I was considering a new mountain bike--either a trek Remedy, or a Trek Fuel EX.

Now, each of these has a version made with a carbon fiber frame--they call it OCLV Red Carbon; their best type.

I've heard that carbon fiber on a bike can be bad if you suffer an impact, though it'd be nice to have a lighter bike.

Thoughts? Can I trust Trek's carbon mountainbikes?

  • CA M24 Sniper rifle--is it worth it?

Ok, so I have the opportunity to buy a CA M24 SOCOM spring sniper rifle with upgraded cylinder, a scope, and a bipod for $150.

Well, i thought this was a good deal, until I read various internet articles about the CA M24 having shoddy internal components.

I just wanted to hear if anyone has any words of wisdom/warning regarding this gun.

    THanks

  • Airsoft Gear: ACU, Tan, or OD camo color?

I am going to be purchasing a MOLLE vest + pouches, and was wondering on which color/pattern is best:

    ACU

    Tan

    Olive Drab (OD)

What are your opinions, and why?

Also, which is worst, if you cannot say which is best?

I wanted MULTICAM, but WAY TOO EXPENSIVE! and it is only available on plate carriers; i want a light mesh vest.

  • Unobtrusive external battery storage for G3-A4 "RIS'd" AEG?

I have a JG G3-SG1 AEG, with the CA "G3-A4" stock--meaning, it has the slither/retractable stock. I also attached a CA RIS handgrip to the front.

I have my battery (a 9.6v nunchuck, so sorta small) in a RIS PEQ box, and I HATE it! it is bulky, takes up space, creates a lack of balance...whatever...

SO: Where else may I place the battery? No room in the handgrip, and no solid stock, so it'd need to be external. Any ideas?

  • How do I make my Airsoft GBB automatic?

    Howdy

I have a KJW 1911 Tactical GBB, and was interested in *possibly* making it automatic.

How would I go about doing this? I want it to function similarly to a Hicapa xtreme.

It is full metal and CO2 capable, so I could thereby mitigate cooldown issues. And, it is a 28+ round double stack magazine, so i'd have a bit of ammo.

Anyone know how to make it automatic capable? Is it even possible?

*I do NOT want it to be uncontrollable (IE one tap makes it fire until magazine is empty, even when finger removed from trigger)

  • Good background vest/color for MULTICAM molle pouches?

Well, I have learned the hard way that a pre-made vest will not fit .308 (G3, to be precise) magazines. So, I wish to buy a MOLLE vest and some m14 pouches/other pouches.

I have taken a liking to multicam camo, but I cannot find any vests in multicam.

Problem being, that I want a mesh "hydration" vest, NOT a plate carrier. UNLESS someone can recommend a lightweight, not too restrictive, molle...carrier? or whatever-in multicam.

So, if I buy multicam pouches, would they look alright mounted on an OD, or Tan, or whatever color molle vest?

    What vest color is best?

Do you know of any multicam-patterned molle vests?

I am looking at this type:

    http://www.airsoftextreme.com/store/index.php?main...

But I cannot find it in multicam...me=sad

  • Emergency Prom Question?

Well, I was going to ask a girl to prom.

However, I have heard hearsay that she and her friends are boozers.

Unfortunately, I asked a friend of hers if she was available, and the friend said that yes this girl is available, and would probably say yes.

And, I am afraid that this friend may have told the girl that I will ask her.

WHAT the devil can I do?!?!

  • CA or G&G Metal G3 receiver?

    I have a G3A4 from JG--the 2007 model.

I wish to upgrade to a metal body, either the GG or CA receiver(s).

Which is best? the magnesium G&G, or the CA?

Also, which is easiest to attach/how do I attach it?

And, will they field strip realistically?

  • CA B&T MP5K: Good? Bad? TECHNICAL INFO NEEDED, TOO?

I want to build a nice little "bullet-hose"

I am considering a CA metal MP5K with:

-HK proprietary claw-mount red dot sight

    -longer inner barrel+silencer

    -folding stock

    -possible autowinding 1000-3000 mag

    HERE ARE THE QUESTIONS:

-Is the CA MP5K a good gun? Does it have any known problems?

-What is meant when it is said that the MP5K has a "SEALED BORE-UP CHAMBER?"

-Is the MP5K a good base gun for a high-speed setup?

-What upgrades could be recommended to increase RoF?

-Is it capable of using a 7.2v LiPo battery out of the box? If not, what upgrades would be needed to allow LiPo use?

    Thanks!

  • Remington 597 SS as first firearm?

    hello

I will soon be of legal age to purchase a rifle in CA.

I figure, that everyone has a .22lr, and in my experience, they are fun/simple/cheap to shoot; they teach the practice of firing a more powerful weapon.

Anyway, I was considering the Remington Model 597 Stainless Steel Autoloader for my first rifle.

WHat are your opinions of this rifle?

Would another rifle be better in some way?

Another caliber? I don't know... .223, mebbe? Or not worth the extra money?

  • MC-51 AEG: Classic Army vs. G&G--which one?

    Hello!

I am interested in purchasing an M41 Sar Offizier or an MC-51 FS

Which is best--the G&G FS-51, or the Classic Army SAR Offizier?

Both guns are very similar; so I just meant between the two brands, which makes the better gun.

    Here's what I know:

    GG:

    -tightbore

    -metal upper receiver

    -polymer lower receiver=bad? i dunno

    CA:

    -all metal

    -trusted brand

    -cheaper

Advice? I'll post more questions as edits, if I need to, based on answers

  • Classic Army SAR Offizier G3 M-41:Good? Bad?

I am planning on buying a Classic Army M-41 SAR Offizier (MC51) AEG.

Is there any known issue with this gun? Negatives, I mean? Can I trust CA's internals?

  • Tips on removing JG G3 G1 Flash hider for Sound amplifying attachment?

I have had an excellent JG T3-k1 (G3-SG1) Airsoft rifle for many years. Now, I want to upgrade it--metal body, RAS, internal stuff (I have already chopped off the stock and put on a collapsible one)--and, among other things, a Madbull Noveske style sound-amplifier.

I know that the JG G3 has 14 mm CCW threads, but I cannot get the flash hider off to attach the sound amplifier.

How do I remove the flash hider?

Does the outer barrel unscrew, or is it, indeed, the flash hider?

I have tried to remove the flash hider, but have not been able to make it budge.

    Thanks

  • How does a "D" grade in AP Calculus affect college admissions?

I am a High School senior, taking many AP classes, including AP Calculus

(I was pressured into it...BIG MISTAKE)

I have no idea how to succeed in the class, and am sliding into the "D" range, where I think my grades will stabilize.

    My question is:

If this is the only class in which I have received a D, will my chances for admission into colleges such as Washington University in St. Louis and Cornell University be adversely affected?

    Will I be denied admission?

My GPA is around 3.5 unweighted, though it should be higher at the end of the year...except for the friggin D.

  • What airsoft sidearm should I get (Not gas)?

I've tried to post this five times today, and it hasn't ever shown up...here goes again:

    I need a sidearm/CQB weapon.

    I am considering:

    Well R2 Scorpion-$89.99

    Cyma CM030 Glock AEP-$48.00

    Galaxy MP5K PDW-$99.99

What do you recommend? Any advice?

I will buy whichever one for 20% off during a sale, so each will be cheaper than noted above. I will buy them from airsoftgi.com's store.

  • How to reduce power/FPS of a gas blow-back airsoft pistol?

I recently purchased a KWC SW40F Sigma CO2 GBB pistol.

It shoots around 410FPS; I need to get it down to ~350 for tournament use. Using .25 pellets will send it down to ~360, but increases the energy released upon a hit; people do not like that...hehe

    Any advice?

  • How to empty 16.4oz propane canister with degraded threading?

    Hello

I just found some old 16.4 oz propane cylinders in my closet, and want to get rid of them

Unfortunately, the threading around the valve, where the tank screws on to a grill, is badly rusted, and some are a little stripped

This happened due to their age, not through usage, and some of them are 1/2 to 3/4 full; this makes it impossible for me to recycle them--I DON'T want to blow anyone up

And, I cannot vent the canisters by connecting them to my grill and burning off the remaining gas, due to the bad threads/valves.

Is their another, safe way of venting the gas from them?

    Thanks
