Need more references but dont have anymore?
I graduated from college back in January. I applied to this job and they wanted references from who I worked for throughout college (not volunteer work, etc - actual work related references). Only had 2 internships, 1 job shadow, and this other random thing I did. So, in all I have 4 references. Only other person I gave was this person who said they would be reference if I needed it, but dont know what happened - apparently they never answered voicemails left. Anyways, instead of 5 it was back to 4. Well, I just got an email now (at 6:30 pm) that said they need more references from work I did throughout college. Apparently they gave good reviews of me but didnt like position they were even though thats who I had while I was there for internships. Problem is that thats all I had since I only had 4 things total. Since I just graduated its not like I have a long list of people who I worked for. Thats the problem since its not like I had been working for 10 years where I can pull people from left and right since I was working for so long.
What should I do? Should I be honest and say that since Im a recent graduate, those are all of the references that I have - those 4 people?
1 AnswerOther - Careers & Employment5 years agoVoicemail left about after references were called?
I received a call before while I was away from phone to a job that I applied to. They said they called my references and wanted me to give them a call back.
I dont know how to take that - is it good thing, bad thing, or maybe they found out something that I didnt know about?
On a side note, I was planning on calling back, so its not like Im asking to see if I should ditch call.
4 AnswersOther - Careers & Employment5 years agoCan I report Facebook group where people want to join but get blocked instead of being accepted?
There is this Facebook group that I know of who blocks people wanting to join instead of just accepting them (as in when person presses "join" button and one of admin has to "accept" request.....instead of accepting they are blocking people who join). I found out that they dont like some members from group so the admin have been blocking anyone who joins that is facebook friends with person plus anyone who wants to join in fear that person is not FB friends with them but friends with them in real life.
How do I report this group?
5 AnswersFacebook5 years agoI feel like USA is getting dumber and losing common sense? What countries are opposite of this?
I feel like USA is getting dumber. I know I can say every little thing but I will name few examples. Actually, maybe 3 is sufficient to see where Im going with this.
-- If the school sends home a memo saying clothing that IS NOT ALLOWED in school, the parents today are saying its BS and sends the kids to school in those items. When school says they are going against school policy and send them home to change, the parents either bring them something worse or complain the school is at fault. Sometimes they even say school is sexualizing girls, only find fault with girls, and everything under the sun to try and cover-up that they did wrong.
-- Now parents are friends and say you supposed to be a friend to their kids and not an actual parent.
-- Parents are shaming all the wrong things their kids do on Facebook and other social media sites.
Do people not have any sense anymore? Are most people that dumb now? i know it can go with each generation but I swear this is the dumbest where most people are losing their common sense.
Are there countries who actually have sense? Ex. They see you cant wear something to school and most parents know better than to let kids go in something against school policy. Parents can actually be their parent and and do their job, and not be forced to be their friend. Parents should know not to shame kids on the internet.
Or is society everywhere changing where this is the new norm, so it doesnt matter where you live?
5 AnswersParenting5 years agoIs it appropriate to ask what "moved in another direction" means for job interview?
I had interview sometime during last week of August on the 29th in afternoon. I was supposed to meet with 3 people but for some reason only 1 person was in. I was told to tell person scheduling interviews so they knew so they could get me another interview and to make sure those 2 people were in. I emailed that day or next day and said what happened on the day of the interview. Didnt hear anything until September 2nd (Friday) and scheduler said he was busy because of holiday weekend coming up and didnt have chance to respond all week. Said he would call sometime the following week to tell me when next interview was (it was whenever he found out based on when they told him what happened) and to see what the problem was the first time since he was told the 2 guys missing were supposed to be in. Well, all of last week passed and crickets. So, Tuesday (this week) I emailed to check in to see if he had an answer but had no response all week. Today I emailed to see if he ever got email and told him what I said if he didnt get email.
Apparently "they moved in a different direction." I have no clue what that means. Should I email back and ask what that meant? Or is that something Im not allowed to do, and I should just respond saying thank you?
6 AnswersOther - Careers & Employment5 years agoWhat does "moved in a different direction" mean after job interview?
Lets say you have interview and they want a 2nd interview with you. The person scheduling interviews tries to get you an interview but then says "they moved in a different direction." What does that even mean? Is that a hint that they didnt like interview? Or does it literally mean something else came up where something happened where they couldnt interview anyone anymore (or something like that)?

8 AnswersPolls & Surveys5 years agoDo people really take their resumes in person to Human Resources in Hospitals?
Im not sure if this is true or my mom is trying to get me into hospital, but my mom said her friend told her that people bring their resumes into hospital to human resources all the time. I dont believe her for various reasons. So my question is, do people really make special trip to hospital to bring in their resume? Only asking because my parents dont believe me that I would bring it to hospital so they driving me, and when I said no, they came after me. But they dont understand that no one does in-person resumes including hospitals. I tried doing that in hospitals a while ago but when I called to see who I should talk to so I can give my resume to them when I go in, they said they cant give me a name because they dont take in-person resumes and everything online - they post every single job online. Also wondering because if they really dont, I can fake actually bringing it to them once I go inside -- of course theres a guard inside when you first walk in, so of course I say where Im going, and then just go in that direction and chill somewhere until its been enough of time, and then leave.
3 AnswersOther - Careers & Employment5 years agoWhat moisturizer should i use for sensitive skin?
I do not have sensitive skin, but the exception is with moisturizer, makeup remover wipes, etc. Whatever is put in these kind of items is what makes my skin sensitive to these things. So I am looking for what actually works well with my skin. Anyone know of moisturizers that are good for this type of sensitive skin?

1 AnswerMakeup5 years agoWhat does "in trust for" mean on bank account when account is made for a child?
NOTE -- NO TROLLS / TROLLING......SERIOUS ANSWERS ONLY
Lets say that you have a baby, and want to make him/her a savings account, and I dont know if it matters when they are a baby/infant/toddler or any time from age 6/7 to 17. But anyways, you (aka parents) make the account for them.
1 -- Do all accounts have to say "In trust for (insert child's name here)"?? Or is there a savings account that does not require "in trust for (insert child name here)"? Maybe its the same thing??
2 -- What does "In trust for" means? Of course a baby, infant, toddler, or any child does not know how to handle a bank account so obviously the parents have to think for them on this one, so of course the parents have to go on the account with them.

26 AnswersOther - Careers & Employment5 years agoIs there a right way to put a bed into a bedroom?
This is the layout of my room -- Of course 4 walls. If you go by the wall that is at front of house, that has 2 windows. Lets call that the right side of room. So, the right side has 2 windows plus 1 vent (air vent). Left side has nothing except 1 vent. The top part has 1 window. The bottom is my closet plus a few inches (my dresser and mirror is here, and I already know that wherever I re-arrange furniture theres no room for this or anywhere to put it, so it has to stay there).
My mom says that there is a right way to put my bed into by bedroom. According to her, you not supposed to put bed where vents or windows are, which leaves bed in middle of room. When I will be re-doing room soon, she says she going to make me not put bed against any walls cuz of that rule (where you cant put bed against any of wall in room cuz of windows and/or vents). Apparently thats why she put my bed in middle of room years ago.
Honestly though, I never heard of it. When I look at articles online on how to rearrange bedroom furniture, they say you can put it against the walls. Going by real life and not by what I see online, no one seems to do that and they say you can put it against walls that have windows, and you can cover vents too.
On a side note, my room is literally small -- house is custom built house and back when original people had it, they made an office since they didnt have kids. They built 1 bedroom (aka master bedroom) plus 2 office rooms.
3 AnswersDecorating & Remodeling5 years agoAm I able to get an extra hard drive for laptop?
I have a practically brand new laptop (only had it for 2 years). Back when I got my laptop, it only came with 50 gb of free space cuz they wanted us to use the icloud for storage (apparently). Well, now 2 years later I have 1 gb left, so literally theres no storage left.
Just an fyi whenever I needed to save something I saved it onto flashdrive. So the memory that was used was literally just MS Office programs, Spotify, iTunes, and the Amazon Music app. Plus whatever 1,200 songs took up on iTunes (thats how much music I was able to get in 2 years) since I had to literally start over -- I tried putting music on from old laptop but thats when laptops had Windows 7 and it couldnt work on Windows 8 computer for some reason, so I had to re-buy music.
So my question is, am I even able to get another hard drive for my laptop? If specific laptop is needed to know if its capatable, I have Microsoft Surface Pro 3.
3 AnswersLaptops & Notebooks5 years agoIs it weird to ask what job I am interviewing for?
Someone called me a week ago and said there was an opening for a position. They said what job position was, and said they were going to see if they could get me an interview. I just got a call now and they said they were able to get me interview. I cant think for the life of me what the position was for. Is it weird to re-ask? It went to voice mail so thats why I am wondering before I call back.
Also, I hope I get no trolls since I need to know before I call back.
5 AnswersOther - Careers & Employment5 years agoIs it weird to send resume to board of director of hospital asking for a job?
My mom convinced that I need to send my resume and cover letter to someone on the board of directors at a hospital seeing if theres jobs at hospital that I could do. Is doing that weird? She thinks its normal and most people do, but I know she being weird, desperate for me getting a job, etc and literally no one does that cuz you not supposed to. Aint no one that desperate for a job.
3 AnswersOther - Careers & Employment5 years agoParents take to social media for child wearing school inappropriate clothing?
So, my thing is, parents knowingly send kids to school in something that is against school rules. But then they complain on social media when the school calls and sends the kid home to change because "they wore something against school rules." Parents say shirt (or whatever child wore) was fine, and school is overreacting, making a scene, and making something sexual about the clothing.
Somehow I see this every time (with people who have girls as kids) when, using this as an example, the school says girls need to wear a shirt that has to go below her waist. The parents send their daughter to school in a shirt that goes to her waist. The school sends kid home to change because it goes against school rules. Then parents take to social media saying how school is overreacting, making a scene, making something sexual about it, or even saying that "they (aka school) dont do that to the guys so why do they have to do it to the girls?"
Same concept goes to girls wearing crop tops & see-through shirts when its against school rules. Parents do same thing.
Then people on social media complain as well saying the school did something wrong for sending home a child that wasnt following school rules with clothing.
4 AnswersPrimary & Secondary Education5 years agoHow do stay-at-home parents go back to work when not working looks bad?
Lets say you are a stay-at-home parent who stayed home for any amount of time (doesnt matter if its 8 months, 1 year, or even 2 to 5 years). How do they go back to work when not working looks bad and no one wants people who dont work (since its stereotypes such as laziness, etc). Would they have to say at interview (if they ever get interview) that they were a stay-at-home parent (if asked)? Is stay-at-home parent looked at differently?
Im just curious so I dont want anyone to be rude, trollers, etc.
