When a bank or credit card company purchases a AD & D policy on your behalf is it generally term or whole life? I'm sorting documents...
4 AnswersInsurance6 years agoWhy do people tend to believe assumptions of others and not trust their closest friend?
I have a close guy friend. He is still dealing with issues from his divorce a few years ago. While we are intimate he still sees us as just friends. I accept that that is where he is at and respect his feelings on the matter. (I also realize that if/when he finds someone who rocks his world and it isn't me - our friendship is most likely over but I don't think he sees that). It is no one's business what our relationship is and I always call him my friend and not boyfriend. A few times over the last 3+ years he has said things like "they think we are girlfriend and boyfriend" - when I have said nothing and it is most likely their assumption as they see us interact with each other. And then he asks me what "I" said to them to make them think it...and what it tells me is that he doesn't trust me. Why does he believe them and confront me?
2 AnswersFriends8 years agoHow do I move past a self perception of yelling/screaming that differs from what most people think?
I come from a history of verbal and emotional abuse, but have been a member of a recovery program for over 10 years. While talking to a close friend last night, I had one of these "ah-hah' moments.
Looking back on my past, I understand yelling/screaming as I was often the recipient of it. However, even then I rarely responded and chose to internalize most of it. When I did respond back then, I think it would have been justly termed as yelling or screaming - because I was out of control and it could get loud. Everything was all bottled up...when you opened the bottle it exploded. But that was the past.
Today I find that people will speak to me in a normal level voice but use mean or critical words - and in my head I still hear yelling and screaming. Last night, I told a good friend that I had 'screamed' at my boss due to some frustration I have been having at the job and this all hit me. I don't really 'scream' or 'yell'...not like everyone else defines it. I am more like this patient little dove...who raises a feather or two, once in a blue moon - usually over something that is very important to me...and it lasts all of 30 seconds and is done. And even then my outer voice is only slightly raised (not like real yelling or screaming) - the voice in my head is often much louder but no one hears that besides me. So why do I think that I yelled or I screamed...when no one else would have considered that I had. And why would I tell my friend that I did?
1 AnswerPsychology9 years agoHow much gas should I keep in a parked car?
I have a second car which is only occassionally driven. I'm concerned about filling it up because of evaporation in the tank and don't want my hard earned money going up into the air....

2 AnswersCleaning & Laundry1 decade agoWhat would cause a vehicle to shake when applying the brakes?
I drive a 2004 Buick Rendezvous. This past week, I noticed that when I apply the brakes, my steering wheel begins to vibrate, for lack of a better word, a bit. If I apply the brake hard - there is no problem but when I slow for a stop light it happens.
12 AnswersMaintenance & Repairs1 decade agoAre (800) numbers considered long distance calls?
My home phone provider charges to have a long distance service on my line. I never make traditional long distance calls but occassionally will make a call to a (800) number. I want to cancel the long distance service on my home phone. How will that impact my ability to place the toll free calls?
6 AnswersLand Phones1 decade agoWhat is wrong with my circuit braker?
It has been abnormally hot were I live. This afternoon, my son noticed some power fluctuations. Most recently, I've noticed that several appliances/outlets in my kitchen are not working (they were a half hour ago) I've checked my circuit board and one of the breakers for the kitchen has gone to the other side but when I try to move it back, it doesn't stay and stays off. My refrigerator is on this circuit...Help!
6 AnswersMaintenance & Repairs1 decade agoIn Facebook, is there a way to identify a friend request as someone you know before saying "yes"?
On My Space, you can check out someone's profile to see if you know the person - but I haven't found anything similar on Facebook.
I'm trying to identify someone now. It could be either one of 2 people or even someone I don't know. I have a call in to the person I hope it is, but in the future, is there an easy way to tell.
I've done a seach on the name - and nothing comes up yet, so I believe it is a new profile.
5 AnswersFacebook1 decade agoWhat is the best AT&T cell phone for only voice and messaging?
I've used the mobile internet, but haven't been excited by it. I want a good phone where I don't have to subscribe to the mobile internet service and not worry about surprise data usage charges popping up. I like the touch screens - qwerty keypad is a plus.
2 AnswersCell Phones & Plans1 decade agoCan anyone point me to an online source for 2009 Ford Focus Body Parts?
Most sites only go to 2007 - some to 2008. My son was in a collision yesterday (hit a wooden sign when someone cut him off in traffic - at least he is ok and didn't hit anyone...) He took out the front bumper cover and associated attachments including the bottom valance section. The driver of the other vehicle took off and I would rather not place a claim with my insurance company if possible so I'm trying to price parts. You would think that people stopped having collisions after 2007 if you looked at the parts sites....
3 AnswersMaintenance & Repairs1 decade agoCan a battery recharge itself?
Earlier, my car was totally dead. But now after a few hours there are some indications of power. For example, the door lock work - even though the alarm won't set. There is a red light on my dash blinking and the LED odometer is showing mileage. It still won't start though. But if it were the alternator or the battery - my car has all kinds of bells and whistles. Wouldn't the indicator lights have lit up to let me know there was a problem?
6 AnswersMaintenance & Repairs1 decade agoWhat could be wrong with my 2004 Buick Rendesvouz?
I just got home from work. I stopped at the mail box. My car was fine - started fine, shut down fine. I just went out and now it won't start. When I put the key in the ignition nothing happens. No clicks like if the battery was dead. But when I turn the key back to take it out, all the tach equipment needles move back and forth below the guages. I don't see lights on the radio, etc. and there is a noise like a spring winding out. There is gas in the car and I had the oil changed recently. It's completly dead... Any ideas?
