We will soon be relocating to Anniston, AL for my husbands work. I am having difficulty finding much online about the city. Hoping to find someone who either lives there or has been there. Is it a safe area? what kinds of things are there for small children to do? we're looking into indian hills apts and shadowood apts.. any opinion on those? thanks so much for your time and help!

It looks like we may be moving to State College, PA because my husband wants to attend Penn State. Does anyone live there and can maybe tell me a bit about life there? Maybe more along the lines of family life.. have a little one and one on the way so we'll have 2 little ones by the time we move.. thanks!

Has anyone ever used one of those "maternity discount" plans or cards to pay for an uninsured pregnancy? If so did they REALLY help? or are they a rip off? And if they DO help.. which one would you suggest? Thanks!!

I am not racist by any means.. lets start off with that.. so no comments about that.. thanks. But it seems to me that everyone is complaining about racism and black people not being treated equally.. but when there are grants and countless other benefits available ONLY to those of african american descent.. HOW please tell me HOOOOOOOOW is that not racist? i mean do you see grants out there saying you must be a caucasian to be eligible.. of course not because we'd be crucified for doing such a thing!!! i'm just confused.. to END racism.. REALLY end it.. dont we need to do away with african americans (and other races for that matter.. i only specified african american because i just watched an advertisement for a grant available only to african americans) getting all of this special treatment? i apologize if i have offended anyone.. i'm just looking for some insight.. maybe someone can lay this out in a way that makes sense to me.... thank you!!

Has anyone baked with the giant cupcake pan? From like Hobby Lobby and such? I'm hoping to bake it for my daughter's first birthday but, I'm having trouble getting the bottom half of the cupcake cooked through.. the top cooks fine.. even gets overcooked because i have to cook the bottom so long.. does anyone have any baking temperature and times suggestions? Please help!

Last night around 9 my 2 month old daughter had a dirty diaper with blood in the stool... it was a little watery as well.. I called the on call dr from our office and he basically told me not to worry and just to bring her into the office in the morning.. so we went in (and saw a dr who isnt ours) and he said nothing is wrong with her.. but now its been 24 hrs and she hasnt had a single dirty diaper since that bloody one last night.. shes only had wet diapers.. but shes actign perfectly normal.. not fussy or upset at all.. and shes eating normally as well.. and shes breastfeeding too in case that makes a difference.. has anyone had issues with this before?? im pretty worried but i dont want to be the crazy lady who calls the dr every single day... any help would be appreciated.. thanks!

so i know when you lose your mucous plug it could be hours or still weeks before you go into labor.. but how long was it for you?! thanks!

so im 40 wks on sat :D i went to the dr today and she said im 2.5-3 cm dilated and 50% effaced.. and she stripped my membranes.. i was too excited about the 3 cm 50% business to ask, but what is stripping the membranes?

I'm 37 wks today!! FULL TERM!! YAY! everyone's been telling me that red wine in your 3rd trimester is fine if not somewhat good for you.. an RN even told me this.. I haven't had a drop of alcohol my entire pregnancy so please don't lecture me and tell me that I'm a horrible and irresponsible mother.. just wondering if anyone has any information on this matter.. I'm only considering ONE glass of red wine on New Year's Eve.. has anyone else been told this is ok? Thanks a bunch!

I was told that you're not supposed to brush your teeth after vomiting because it just grinds the acid in rather then waching it away... and to rinse and swish instead.. is this accurate information? just wondering.. I gave someone this advice and I was just wondering if it's correct.. THANKS!

i havent had hardly any discharge at all since i found out i was pregnant.. and what very little i did have was clear and white.. now all of the sudden tonight i have a decent amount of this yellow-amber colored discharge that's very thick.. like mucosey.. i read that discharge amount changes are normal.. but what about the color? it couldnt possibly be a mucos plug could it? just kinda freakin out.. i'm only 24 wks!!! it's so early... is this really bad? do i need to call my dr now? or can it wait until i see her on the 8th? THANKS!

She's half lab half beagle and the only dog I've ever had this problem with.. she obeys very well in the house and very well in the fenced yard and she gets a walk every day and obeys very very well on the walks.. the issue doesnt happen very often but when it does it's TERRIFYING.. she's gotten out the front door by accident a few times and one time on a walk I was adjusting her coller and it slipped of .. and it's like the second she knows I no longer have control over her she freaks out and takes off running as fast as she can.. I'm pretty sure she's playing a "you can't catch me" game because she doesn't really get far or run hard until she sees you chasing her.. and I wouldn't chase her if she wouldn't head straight for the busiest streets in town EVERY time.. we only live about 2 blocks in 2 directions from seriously busy streets.. she's almost been hit by cars 3 times now.. and it's just terrifying.. I don't know what to do .. :'(Any advice would be greatly appreciated

How early to Braxton Hicks tend to start? And if I'm not having any at all.. is it at all an indication that I won't go into labor on my own? What exactly to they feel like? Maybe I just dont know it's happening? I heard someone say that sometimes it just feels like cramps.. no tightening or anything.. is that true? i have a 6 month old kitten... her names Molly :D i love her dearly.. she's still pretty feisty and plays kinda rough and does scratch people sometimes.. everyone keeps telling me to declaw her.. she is strictly an indoor cat.. but i dont want to.. i had a cat when i was younger that my mom declawed and he ended up getting outside and got attacked by a dog and because he had no claws had no means on defending himself :'( and im very fearful of a similar situation.. am i right? is it inhumane? or am i just being paranoid?
