Did someone drug my drink?
I had two and a half mixed drinks over six hours on Friday night. I was foolishly drinking on an empty stomach and am a light weight anyway, so I was tipsy when I ordered the third drink. A couple other people said the same--buzzed but not drunk. After a few sips of the third drink, I started feeling nauseous and decided not to drink anymore. The next thing I remember is vomiting in my room. Apparently a friend found me vomiting outside the bar and got me home. I had the worst hangover ever Saturday. I was vomiting every 15 to 30 minutes from 7 in the morning to 3 in the afternoon. Does this sound like I was drugged?
4 AnswersOther - Health8 years agoIs a centimeter over the oil fill line too much oil?
I just changed the oil and filter on my 1999 Toyota Camry 2.2L and accidentally over-filled it. The dipstick shows about one centimeter above the fill line. Do I need to drain some out?
6 AnswersMaintenance & Repairs9 years agoHow much tapioca starch should I use to substitute for cornstarch?
I'm making blueberry pie that calls for cornstarch, but I'd rather use tapioca starch. What's the exchange ratio? I read one place that it's 1 tablespoon cornstarch to 2 tablespoons tapioca starch, but another source said 2 tablespoons cornstarch to 1 tablespoon tapioca starch.
3 AnswersCooking & Recipes1 decade agoHow long does a large envelope actually take to ship USPS First Class (domestic)?
I mailed a large envelope on Dec. 4th from Illinois to California using USPS First Class. I know USPS website says 2-3 business days, but I've noticed a lot of times it is more like 3-5 business days. I was informed by the recipient today (Dec. 14 ... 7 business days after mailing) that it still has not arrived. Is this just typical holiday season back-up? At what point should I assume the item is simply lost in the mail? Thanks.

13 AnswersCooking & Recipes1 decade agoHow do you balance H3PO4 + (NH4)*2MoO4 + HNO3 --> (NH4)3PO4*12MoO3 + NH4NO3 + H2O?
This isn't a homework question! I'm prepping for an exam, and I can't figure this out. I know what the answer is supposed to be: H3PO4 + 12(NH4)*2MoO4 + 21HNO3 --> (NH4)3PO4*12MoO3 + 21NH4NO3 + 12H2O. Could you please give me the steps on how to get there? Thanks!

I was hoping to photograph some hummingbirds this year, but I think I missed their migration north. Did I? When do they go back south? Also, does anyone know of a good place in northern (preferably northeast) Illinois to find them? Thanks.

1 AnswerBiology1 decade agoHow difficult would it be to do a tune up on a 1994 Honda Accord DX myself?
First, I suppose a better question is: is it worth it? I plan on selling the car, since it has 190,000 miles and one thing after another keeps going wrong with it. Do you think the cost of a tune up will be recouped in the sale? I already purchased a Camry to replace it, so if I do fix the Accord, it does not matter how long it takes.
The mechanic wants to charge me around $400 for the tune up (is that high for a tune up?) and another $200 to replace the upper radiator hose. I am pretty sure I can do the latter myself, as I've seen it done before. I know pretty much nothing about doing a tune up, but I knew nothing about replacing the mid-pipe, changing the oil and fixing/replacing various body parts (door handle, side mirror, etc.) before I did it.
3 AnswersMaintenance & Repairs1 decade agoWhat could a faint fluttering noise be? A guess on how much it would cost to fix?
I have a 1994 Honda Accord DX with about 189,000 miles on it. I just noticed today after a couple minutes of driving at low speed a faint fluttering noise. Another way to describe it would be the noise from a card in a bicycle wheel but much quieter. It only happens if my foot is on the gas; once I lift my foot from the pedal it goes away. I don't know if it is happening at higher speeds, as road noise may be drowning it out. I popped the hood, and I could not hear the noise in idle nor with someone pressing the gas while in park. I can't really figure out even what section of the car the noise is coming from.
Have any guesses on what the problem might be? Have any ideas on how much it cost to fix it? I appreciate any help. Thanks.

3 AnswersInsurance & Registration1 decade agoWhat are the best tours to take at Mammoth Cave National Park?
I've done the Wild Cave Tour, and that has to be the best by far. This weekend I'm doing the Star Chamber Tour, which I hear is pretty interesting. If I have time, I would love to do another one. Even if I don't have time, I will probably come back in the near future. Any suggestions?
Also, if you have any suggestions for something else to do in the area, I would love to hear them. Thanks!

5 AnswersFashion & Accessories1 decade agoWhere should I go in the lower 48?
It turns out I have a some free time. I have been wanting to take a road trip for awhile but can't decide where to go--other than somewhere new to me, which would be most of the east and the northwest. Though, I'm not terribly interested in going much south at this time. Also, since I live near Chicago, I am looking to escape the midwest. I would like to go somewhere with good museums, aquariums or zoos ... or anything that's cool to visit and near some parks and hiking trails. Not interested in clubbing or shopping. I'm leaning towards Seattle currently but am eager for some other thoughts. Thanks!
1 AnswerOther - United States1 decade agoWould this be appropriate attire for a funeral?
I'm going to my grandfather's funeral in a few days and am unsure about my dress. It's black with short sleeves and goes to just above my knees. It's not tight, but it's not loose; it's fitted. Though, I have a nice black jacket that I could wear over it. I would qualify it as modest, but I'm going to be in the middle of Utah. I really don't know what they consider appropriate.
Also, what am I suppose to wear to the visitation? I have no clue.
Thanks for the help!

2 AnswersMathematics1 decade agoMost accurate body fat estimator?
Aside from water displacement, does anyone know the most accurate formula for calculating body fat percentage? I get a huge range. According the YMCA formula, I'm obese (funny because I'm also considered severely underweight for my height), and according to the U.S. Navy's formula, I'm an athlete (also far from accurate).
Thanks!
(Also, please do not direct me to BMI calculator. I know my BMI. I'm looking for an accurate body fat estimation.)

7 AnswersHigher Education (University +)1 decade agoAbstract Algebra?
Let H and K be normal subgroups of G such that the intersection of H and K = {e}. Show that hk = kh for all h in H and k in K.
I have so far that since gH = Hg and gK = Kg for g in G, gh = hg and gk = kg for all h in H and all k in K. Then, g = hgh^-1 and g = kgk^-1. So, hgh^-1 = kgk^-1. I've had no success in canceling the g, and I don't even know if what I have is correct or on the right track.
Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks.
