1 AnswerFIFA World Cup (TM)7 years agoThe name of a British travel agency from the early 1900's?
There was a British travel agency that I used to hear about all the time, that operated in the early 1900's, but I can't remember it's name. It may still exist for all I know. But if some British person were out in a colony somewhere, perhaps India, and someone else asked them who had made their travel arrangements, there was a stock answer of, "Oh, ____ handled it." And the same name came up over and over. Does anyone know what that Company's name was?

2 AnswersWords & Wordplay8 years agoA question about time zones in China?
I understand that there is only one time zone in China. China is about the same width as is the US. In the US, if you eat lunch at 12 noon on the east coast, it is 8AM on the west coast, and many people are eating breakfast there.
So, what happens in China? If people go to work at 6AM on the east coast of china, do people in the west of china also go to work at 6AM, which is very very early in the morning? Or do people on the west side of china go to work at 10AM, when the sun is just coming up in western china?
2 AnswersGeography8 years agoCan someone please explain this to me?
Consider the following paragraph:
"It is perhaps true to say that memory is the faculty of poetry, because imagination itself is an exercise of memory. There is nothing we imagine which we do not already know. And our ability to imagine is our ability to remember what we have already once experienced and to apply it to some different situation."
The whole paragraph is confusing to me, but especially the part about,
"...memory is the faculty of poetry, because imagination itself is an exercise of memory."
Does anyone have an explanation for that?
Thanks.
3 AnswersLanguages9 years agoI'm looking for a french word?
It is spelled something like, "derrigure," and what it means is, the normal course, what's usually done, the habit, the custom, the expected course of action.
It is a single word.
Maybe in an English sentence, it might be used like, "Seeing the village elder before exploring the area is 'd....'"
or, "Wearing perfume 'd...' when going out to the opera."
Any ideas?

I've googled Snoopy photos and Pouncing Snoopy and so on, but I can't find this drawing. It's where Snoopy, of the comic strip Peanuts, is pouncing as if he is a cougar or beast of prey. Does anyone know an online site where I can find this?
1 AnswerDrawing & Illustration10 years agoHas anyone had personal experience with "Vilagra"?
There is a drug produced at Centurion Laboratories (a division of Centurion Remedies Pvt) of Gorwa Baroda, India, called Vilagra (this is not a misspelling). Vilagra purports to be a generic version of Viagra, Sildenafil Citrate. Does anyone have first hand experience with using this drug or does anyone have information about Centurion Labs? I can purchase this medication, with a prescription, via a Canadian outlet, but I'd like to get information about it and the labs first. Please don't suggest that I google it, I already have. Thanks!

5 AnswersBooks & Authors1 decade agoTrying to find the name of an Australian poet:?
He immigrated to Australia from Britain when he was about 19 - 22, in the early 1900s, I think. His father never would speak to him again after he left home. I saw a documentary about him, and basically, his brain just thinks in rhyme. He was just astonishing in how easily he rhymed his thoughts. He wrote about life in Australia. I'm sorry that I haven't any more information.

IT’S RAINING
It’s raining raining raining.
There is grey up in the skys.
And the frogs are hippity hopping
And they might just get a whopping
If they don’t get home for dinner
With their little froggy wives.
Its raining raining raining
and I’m walking down the road
Its raining down on all the world
Its raining as I go.
I’m walking walking walking
down this bayou country lane
I’m walking walking walking
in a summer evening’s rain.
The frogs are hippity hopping.
There is rain from in the skies.
They are hippity hopping home to hearth
to visit with their wives.
Its raining raining raining
Its raining as I go
Its raining down on all the world.
and I’m walking down the road.
