  • I don't get "butterflies" around my boyfriend? Is that ok?

I was friends with my current boyfriend for a solid 5 months before we started dating. We've been dating for about a month now and it's great. He's the sweetest and kindest guy I've ever dated in my life. The only thing is that I don't get "butterflies" or that pump of adrenaline when I'm around him like I usually did around other guys. I never had that feeling around him. I feel very content around him though, and he makes me happy. Like, it feels right to be with him.

I'm just afraid that I don't love him to the same degree that he loves me. He's told me that he loves me, and I say I love him back, but deep down I don't feel like I'm being genuine. I don't know what to do! I really like him but I just don't have that spark. Does it come over time or should I just stop this relationship before it gets too far? Please help!

  • Guys only date me for my looks and I don't know what to do?

Every guy that's ever dated me has only ever dated me because of sex or because they want a "pretty half-Asian girlfriend" (not my words). I know this doesn't sound like an issue to most people or whatever and people may think that I'm ungrateful or some stupid thing like that, but I do have a problem with this.

Since guys only date me based on my appearance, I've ended up in a state of self-loathing that I'll never find someone that truly loves me for who I am. I don't want to just be some trophy wife or something, I want someone to have genuine feelings for me.

Now because of this I have trust issues whenever I get into a new relationship and I'm very suspicious all the time (which I admit isn't fair to the guys but it's just automatic in my head).

I just don't know what to do anymore. This is really hurting me emotionally and I need some advice on how to either get over this thought process or on how to find guys who like me for my personality and not just my looks. Thanks in advance!

  • Should I become a FWB with my best friend?

Last night my best guy friend asked me to be his FWB and I agreed but I don t know if I made the right decision.

There are two problems about this. One: I m a virgin. And two: I already have feelings for him.

I told him about both problems and he said we would take it slow with the sex and that I shouldn t worry about my feelings. But that just feels more like a relationship than a FWB.

Plus, we hang out all the time so it s easy to develop feelings and I don t want to cut strings just so we can have sex.

I wanna be his FWB but I don t know if it s a good idea. I m clueless about things like this.

How should I go about this?

  • Any funny Star Trek TOS quotes?

I'm a huge trekkie and I want to have my senior quote be something Star Trek TOS related, but nothing too serious. I was searching for something sassy from Spock or something like that anyways, but I just cant seem to find/think of any. Anyone have a good one off hand? Thanks in advance!

  • Should I ask him out?

Okay. So last year I asked this guy out to the junior prom. He said he couldn't because he already had a date to the senior prom, so I just let it slide and convinced myself he wasn't interested.

But now that senior year has started, he's been acting very strange. He refuses to make eye contact with me, I catch him staring at me on a regular basis, and he tends to become shy when I'm nearby (even though he's a very out going person). I can't tell if it's just because he feels awkward around me since I asked him out last year or what.

However, last year after I had asked him out and got rejected, we actually became pretty close and talked to each other often. Now this year he's completely ignoring me. Some of my friends think that he likes me now and just doesn't want to make the first move, but I made the first move last year and I really don't want to do it again (ESPECIALLY if I'm reading this the wrong way).

So my question is: Does it sound like he's even interested? And if so, should I ask him out or wait and see if he'll make a move?

  • How painful is a neck tattoo?

I'm turning 18 in a few months and I'm considering getting a tattoo of my favorite band's logo since they are a huge inspiration to me and helped me with deciding to pursue my career path and are basically the reason I decided to go to college. The logo is basically tally marks (the band is New Politics, by the way) and I want the logo at the back of my neck, not very big. Probably 1.5in by 1.5in.

My mom is allowing me to get it as long as the tattoo can be easily covered, so I thought that the neck would be smart since I usually wear my hair down. I've been doing some research though and I've heard that the neck is one of the most painful areas to get a tattoo. I'm just wondering from someone with experience how painful it really is.

Also, any other suggestions for spots to get tattoos that you can easily hide? Thanks in advance!

  • Is it weird he still talks to me?

I asked my crush out about a month ago and he rejected me. It was no big deal though, and sure it was awkward for awhile, but after about two weeks he started talking to me.

Of course this sounds normal, except he never talked to me UNTIL I asked him out. We had no interactions whatsoever, maybe asking each other about homework once or twice, but otherwise none at all. And then all of a sudden he starts talking to me.

He even started following me on Instagram, and he was the one who followed me first. He also likes every photo I post... not even my close friends like every single photo.

Also the other day he complimented me, which threw me off completely. If I were in his shoes I would NEVER compliment a guy I rejected. I would assume it would just send off the wrong message, right?

Is this weird? Does this mean anything? I asked other people and they say that he possibly likes me, but that doesn't make sense since I asked him out and he declined.

What's your opinion? Does he like me? And if he does, what do I do? Ask him out again? I don't want to seem too straightforward...

  • Does he like me? PLEASE HELP!!! 10 POINTS?

So I asked this guy out to prom about a month ago and he said, "I'm already going with someone" but he never had a date and didn't even go to prom. So I assumed that he just didn't want to go with me and I moved on.

However, directly after prom had ended he followed me on Instagram and now he likes all of the pictures I post. I assumed this was him just feeling sorry about prom so I didn't think much of it.

But even after that, he casually talks to me during school, still not as much as he used to when he didn't know I liked him. He holds doors open for me and asks me questions on homework and things like that. I just thought this was normal though.

But then today I brought a painting I had done into my last class to take it home after school. The guy sits next to me because of our assigned seats, and I noticed he kept glancing at me and the painting. Once class ended he asked me if I had painted it, so I said yes. And then he smiled and told me "It's amazing. You're a really good artist." After I said thanks he turned a gave a look to one of his friends, almost like a sheepish grin.

Now I'm majorly confused. I don't understand this at all. Does he like me? Does he just want to be friends? Does he just feel sorry for me? PLEASE HELP I'M SO CONFUSED!!!

  • How do I deal with rejection?

I asked this guy to prom... long story short he declined.

This is the first time I've asked someone out in general, and I can't stop thinking about it. It seems so surreal that it actually happened honestly. Tomorrow I have to go back to school and he's in most of my classes. I don't know how I'd survive being in the same room with him.

So what I'm asking is... how do I get over this feeling? What are some ways you guys deal with rejection? Please let me know. It'd help a lot.

  • Promposal help?

So I'm planning on asking this guy to prom tomorrow. The plan my friends and I came up with is that I bake a cookie that says "Prom?" on it in frosting and give it to him in a gift bag sort of thing. I'm just wondering if this is a good idea.

Also, I don't really know the guy that well (we've talked occasionally and are in a lot of classes) so is asking him to prom a bit too much? We have mutual friends and would be hanging out with our group, but still. Any thoughts?

  • What was the name of the Cambodian communist guerrilla group that toppled the Cambodian government in 1974?

    A. the Khmer Rouge

    B. the Viet Minh

    C. the Viet Cong

    D. the Red Brigade

    E. the Pathot Lao

I thought that the answer was the Viet Minh, but I wanted to double check with someone else.

  • How can I platonically hang out with my crush?

I'm good friends with this one guy who I started having a crush on recently. We've known each other for eight years now, and I wanted to invite him to hang out outside of school. I know he'd be comfortable with it since he's invited me places sometimes (though I never actually go since I'm usually busy), but I'm afraid I'd give something away if we did hang out. And we're both 17, so it's not like it's weird to hang out with the opposite sex at our age or anything.

I really like him and I don't mind if we stay just friends, I just want to be with him more without stirring up anything. How do I go about this?

  • Does my guy friend like me? (10 POINTS)?

I've known this guy since we were in fourth grade and now we're juniors in high school (8 years). At the beginning of the school year we became really close because we agreed to help each other with our crushes. However, now I'm not very interested in my crush and he recently gave up on his crush, but we stayed as super close friends.

We talk whenever we have the time to, and text frequently, like normal friend things. But every now and then my friend would tell me something really personal about his family and home life (things he's never told anyone else before). And he tells me I'm the only girl that's really seen the "real him" since he's one of those guys who tries to win girls by being a different person.

He always protects me and helps me out when I have something going on. He buys things for me and compliments me a lot. He tells me all the time that "we have everything in common" and that I'm "a really nice girl".

He's the nicest guy I've ever met, and I'm starting to fall for him. But is he falling for me? Or is he just being a good guy?

  • Want to buy thongs but...?

I'm 17 and I want to get some thongs for myself since I just started wearing leggings more often and I really hate that people can see my panties through them but at the same time I don't want to just not wear any underwear. I'd just go out and get them myself but I still only have a permit and I'd rather have my mom pay for them since they can be pretty pricey (she usually buys the essentials when it comes to clothes).

Would it be weird to tell my mom I want thongs? I don't want her thinking that I'm trying to be sexy or something, I just want them for leggings. And also, any tips for a newbie? I've heard that thongs need some getting use to and I don't really know much about them. Thanks in advance!

  • Would guys consider dating a girl after getting asked out?

I want to ask out this guy but I'm pretty sure he's not super interested in me. Still, would he consider dating me even though he had never realized that I'd be an option in the past, or am I just being too hopeful?

Guys, do you say yes to girls that you haven't considered until she approached you, or is that a rare occasion? Thanks a bunch.

  • What does this mean?

I've been friends with this guy for over 8 years now. since we've been assigned to sit next to each other in band every year. We've recently connected really well because we agreed to help each other with our crushes.

However, last concert we were talking and he was making a joke about his penis, which I laughed at (since I have a boyish sense of humor). After we stopped laughing he said, "See, this is why it'd be weird if we ever" and then he stopped himself and refused to tell me what he was going to say. I assumed it had something to do with us dating, since we always make jokes about us being a couple (dating, married, even porn stuff).

What does this all mean? What do you think he was going to say?

  • Should I ask him out? (10 POINTS)?

I'm a 17-year-old girl. I'm super shy and quiet but I've liked this guy for awhile (ever since the start of the school year). He's really out going and is into all of these different sports. The only school-related things we have in common is that we're both in band. But at the same time he's very sweet and polite (the kind to hold doors open for people and such).

I know that we have the same interests (because, like I said, he's out going) but since I'm shy he doesn't know anything about me. The only time we talk is when it's school related (projects, homework, etc.).

I admit I'm a bit overweight (20ish pounds) but I'm really busty and people tell me I have a pretty face. He's not popular at all with girls though, so I don't know if my appearance would be that big of a problem.

I wanted to ask him out this Friday since it'd be the day our school celebrates Valentine's Day (and we have break all next week), but I'm not sure if that's a good idea since he doesn't know me that well. I don't want to do anything that'll scare him off, and I don't want to embarrass myself.

What are your thoughts? Please help me! I've been thinking about this for days.

  • What's the word for taking notes after an event?

I have to do an observation report for my AP Lang class and I have to specify how I'm taking notes while observing. Since I can't take notes during the event I'm observing I'm going to do it after the event.

Is there a word for that? Thanks in advance.

  • Girls, what's it like feeling rejected? (10 points)?

I want to ask this guy out that I've liked for a few months. He's really nice, but at the same time he's very loud. That being said, I'm afraid that if he rejects me he might tell all his guy friends about it.

I'm just wondering, from girls who have been rejected before: What is it like? What happens afterwards?

I was always the one being asked out so I don't know anything about this. Help please!

  • What do guys do after getting asked out by a girl they don't like?

I want to ask out this guy but I have a feeling he's going to reject me, so I just want to know in advance what guys tend to do after turning down a girl.

Do you tell about what happened to your friends? Do you make fun of the girl behind her back?

I gotta admit I'm a bit chubby (30-40 lbs over weight) but I'm known through the school to be really nice so I'm kinda on everyone's good side. That being said, do you think they'd laugh at me/talk behind my back if I get rejected?

It's not that I'm afraid of being rejected, but what will happen afterwards if he says no. So help please?

    I'm a junior (17-years-old) by the way.
