Guantanamo Bay!?!?
How come there is a US Navel Base in Cube; a country the US has been in conflict with since the Battista era?
8 AnswersMilitary4 weeks agoNo 'VAT' on van in the UK?!?!?
Hi. I would like to buy a second hand van to use as a normal family car, but some of them are sold as 'no VAT'. Since I am not a business owner, will I somehow have to pay VAT on such car, or can't I buy it without having a business/ being a sole trader?

1 AnswerLanguages2 months agoIs it true that Hitler only had 'one' ?
Was this just propaganda from the Allies or is it a fact that Hitler only had one... how should I say... ball?
22 AnswersHistory3 months agoAre there any Constitutional way (with elections) for a US state to leave the union? ?
Can a state constitutionally (in this case legally) leave the union; the USA? Does it matter what state it would be, for example Kentucky is a 'Commonwealth' and some states joined the union instead of being swallowed up by it (Texas comes to mind). ...or could places like Guam 'leave' the US?
2 AnswersLaw & Ethics3 months agoWhen is the exact time of a new president?
Is it stated as a specific time, or when the President elect has finished swearing the oath, or any time that day? The reason I ask is if the US was attacked on the morning of the inauguration for example, would it be the sitting President or the President elect that would have to deal with that?
2 AnswersPolitics3 months agoIf a president refuse to leave the White House after inauguration of a new president, what happens?
...and has it ever happened? Will the secret service 'turn' on the former president, since he or she no longer hold the position, or is it the job of the Police or even FBI to remove him/her from office? Any presidence in this?
2 AnswersPolitics3 months agoAn airline question: is an MD11 basically a DC10?
I didn't know there were still any DC10 in use in the skies anymore, and then I saw a transport plane from Lufthansa that looked just like a DC10. After looking at their WebSite they state it's called a MD11f, but it really looks like 'the old' DC10. Is it?
3 AnswersAircraft3 months agoConstitutionally and in reality, who is most powerful in the US? A Congress man (woman) or a Senator?
Are there any 'seniority' between a Congress man and a senator constitutionally? In real terms, do one of them have more power simply because of what house they belong to?
3 AnswersPolitics5 months agoIs it true that Federal Taxation (income tax) is unconstitutional?
Didn't Yale Law school say so in the 1980ies, or have I got this totally wrong?
4 AnswersPolitics5 months agoDo the Native Nations (the Indians) in the US now have CONSTITUTIONAL (Federal) rights to land, or is that decided on state level?
In other words, will one of the Nations have more rights (own tax rights or own legislation such as legalised gambling for example) in West Virginia than in Minesota, or is it all regulated on a federal level?
2 AnswersLaw & Ethics5 months agoWould the US had stayed out of WW2 if Pearl Harbour hadn't been attacked?
If I understand my history lessons in School correctly, there were a strong opinion in the US to stay out of WW2 in Europe and Asia. Not that the US was especially friendly with Japan or Nazi Germany, but because ;'...let them deal with their own problems over there, and leave us out of it!'. Is this historically incorrect? ...and Churchill desperately tried to lobby the US to get involved, so was he secretly 'pleased' when Pearl Harbour was attacked, since that suddenly involved the US by default?
56 AnswersHistory5 months agoI am after the ULTIMATE brownie !?
I am looking to make the best brownie there is; one where the chocolate EXPLODE in your mouth, and still have the moisture and consistancy it should have. A brownie made for kings and queens... Can you tell me how to make them?
4 AnswersCooking & Recipes6 months agoWhat happens if Trump simply stay on in the White House after February 2021?
This is not a partisan question, but a constitutional one. If the sitting president doesn’t accept that he has lost and simply continues as before... Can a new president even be sworn in? ...and if so, can the (former) president be removed by Police(!) and kicked-out of the White House? I know.. It all sound like a bad comedy show but it could actually happen... couldn't it?
9 AnswersGovernment6 months agoTo my surprice, I have just been reading that France had a better trained (and equipped) army than Nazi Germany 1939. Is that true?

12 AnswersMilitary6 months agoWho in the Nazi leadership (the inner circle around Hitler) was fluent in English?

Donitz,
Keitel,
Bormann,
Goering,
or
Himmler?
3 AnswersHistory6 months agoCan you be an (outside) supporter of Israel but against Netanyahu?
As a Christian I have always been a supporter of Israel as a nation state, but I belive Netanyahu to be a corrupt and dangerious politician. ...so why are there so many people in the States who see that as anti-zionism or even (in extreem accusation) as hidden anti-semitism? Me not liking Obama didn't make me anti-American or a racist, so why is being anti-Netanyahu seen as being anti-Israel?
1 AnswerPolitics7 months agoIs a 'blank' wote useful?
Do you think that a 'blank' vote (in any election) is a way to protest; a way to say that you do not support any of the parties or persons in the line up, or is it just a waisted vote?
1 AnswerElections7 months agoIs history too forgiving of UK Prime Minister Chamberlains 'Peace for our time' speach and agreement with Hitler? ?
When you mention that spech to anyone in England over 50 years old, their reaction is always so forgiving: ' oh, he tried his best to keep peace' or 'What else could he have done?' but it was an agreement made with Hitler and Mousselini that accepted German expansion into foreign territory...
